Associate Professsor, Biochemistry Department

The University of Melbourne Medical School

Retired 2016

Graham Parslow will take you through 150 years of radio from scientific curiosity to mature technology. Radios from the 20th century will be illustrated by examples from Graham’s collection of over 600 radios. It is likely that you grew up at a time when radio was a major home entertainment and fondly recollect that radio, and the times your family spent by it in the kitchen or lounge. Radios are highly collectable for their beauty and their technology. The cabinets reflect the tastes of society spanning art-deco to modern minimalist. You may be tempted to collect at least one radio (if you have not already) and join the Historical Radio Society of Australia of which Graham is the President.
