The present study aims at the critical research of the meaning of the scale, starting from the conventional reality and ending in the hybrid situation of modern times. The methodology which has been used was based on the collection of the theoretical base through bibliography sources. After that, there were analyzed through critical process, meanings relevant to the architectural scale, the impact on public and private spaces and finally, tο what extend, the scale as e designing tool, exists in the hybrid space. Following the introduction to the study, the first chapter comes with the input to the basic sides as well as, the meanings which refer to the architectural scale. The natural and human analysis of the scale, along with the interactive relations between the structure and the scale of its surroundings, the human and its parts, is an effort to approach the meaning of scale. The second chapter examines the conventional- analogical space and the role of the scale, as a tool in it. For the accomplishment of this research, it is used as a case study the dipole between the public and the private space. Afterwards, the scale of conventional public and private space is examined, by means of modern examples, respectively. The third unit of the study focuses on the contemporary reality of digital penetration in the everyday architectural space. The study of this chapter, based on the case study of the dipole of public and private space, presents the effects of the hybrid space to the borders of these meanings, as well as the place that the scale has taken into this space. Finally, the results which have been derived from this research are presented, and as a consequence, various questions related to this new hybrid reality, are being answered.
