Wearemorethanafoodbank-wehelpourpeopletendtolarger goalssuchasgettingvaccinatedagainstCOVIDandtheflu, obtainingadriver'slicenseorphotoidentification,understanding affordablehealthinsuranceoptions,obtainingassistanceforutility bills,supportingliteracyandemploymentopportunities,supporting healthanddietaryneeds,andprovidingenrichmentprogramming.

InFebruary of2023wemetarecordhighnumberoffamiliesserved,with713householdssuppliedwithfoodandessentialsin oneweek.Were-positionedourselvestomeetthisincreaseddemand,creatingdiversionplansandmakingwarmreferralssothat familiescouldbetterfindtheirneedsservedclosertohome.
OnApril19GRACEextendedhourstoincludeanafternoondistribution Inanefforttoinvestinthestabilizingeffortsand affordourfamiliesmoreindividualizedattentionwhileminimizingtrafficandparkingconcerns,wemorethandoubledour hours Creatingflexibilityforheadsofhouseholdsbalancingmanyresponsibilities,includingseniorswhofoundeasier accessibilityinthedaylighthoursoftheafternoon
InMaywebeganplanstomovetotheSummitCommunityCenter.InJuneGRACEmovedfromtheCornogFieldHouseto theSummitCommunityCenter,wherewenowprovidedistributionandservicesindoors,andhaveexpandedourstabilizing serviceswithon-sitecommunitypartners Nowindoorsandoutofthedarkandcold,servicesaremoreaccessibleandwe’ve continuedtobeareliablesourceofsupportformorethan500localfamilieseachweek

DuringtheSummerwebolsteredenrichmentofferingsandsurveyedourfamilies,tobetter servetheirneeds,addingTennisClinicswithSummitServes,SalsaDancingwiththeYMCA, andArtTherapywiththeVisualArtsCenterofNJ Webegantoprovideweeklyassistancefor COVIDboostersandflushots,careerguidanceandbenefitsenrollmentonsite,thanksto UnionCountyDepartmentofHumanServices


AsthecolderFallseasonapproached,coats,hatsandgloveswereprovidedtomorethan575 individuals,providingsafety,warmthandcomfortthroughthecoldseason.
InOctoberGRACElaunchedourESOLprograms,inpartnershipwiththeCityofSummit DepartmentofCommunityPrograms WecontinuedourdistributionofHalloweencostumes toensurethateverystudentandchildmayfeelasenseofinclusivityduringcommunity celebrations
Withincreasingdemand,comesneedforincreasedsupport.OnOctober6,GRACEraised over$100,000tobenefitGRACEatourinauguralfundraiser,AnEveningforGRACEto benefitourneighborsinneed,wherewealsohonoredthosewhomakeGRACEareality& celebratedoursuccessestogether
InNovember,GRACEservedawarmmealtomorethan200individualsatour2ndAnnual CommunityThanksgiving,inpartnershipwiththeCityofSummitDepartmentof CommunityPrograms.
DuringtheWinterGRACEcontinuedtoprovideservicesduringourdarkestandcoldest months,whenneedremainedhigh GRACEpartneredwiththeYWCAfordomesticviolence intervention Wecelebratedanotherseasonofgiving,ensuringthateveryrecipientreceivedgifts tosharewiththeirfamiliesduringtheseasonofgiving,thankstotheLionsClubofSummit, ToyProfessor,andneighborsfromallacrossthecommunitywhosupportedus
