THE POWER OF ONE.
Front Porch Housing began with one woman who needed a place to live. Finding safe and affordable housing was critical to her recovery, and she reached out hoping for help. One woman quickly became ten, then fifty, and we discovered an ever growing group of individuals who didn’t just need a home. They needed a supportive community, a tribe of people to come alongside them on their journey to a restored life.
Our three-year housing program is specifically designed to meet people right where they are, and, through a host of partnerships, connect them to the resources they need to grow. But it’s the stories, the relationships, that spark the fire of change. One volunteer can impact one resident. One resident can impact a family. One family can impact a circle, and one circle—an entire community.
It’s an honor for me to watch this process, and I’d like to invite you to join us.
What can your one do?

WHY FRONT PORCH HOUSING?
In 2017, a growing number of individuals at Grace Church were graduating from care ministries without a safe and reliable place to live. Housing was an essential piece to escaping toxic and abusive environments, but they faced an uphill battle of barriers in finding affordable options.
When Front Porch Housing’s program began, it quickly became clear a covenant community, one that supported and valued each individual, was key to the growth process.
Through a variety of resources and partnerships, our housing program supports healthy living for each individual who walks through our doors with goals of continued sobriety, gainful employment, financial independence, and spiritual maturity.

STORY MAKES A DIFFERENCE
When residents step inside our doors, they’re often in crisis. Wherever they’ve been, whatever their story, our goal is to make room for them where they are, creating a safe space to feel valuable, loved, and supported.
Ashley Cheek came to Front Porch Housing in June of 2019 with a newborn daughter and a long struggle with drugs and alcohol. At FPH she discovered care through recovery programs, counseling, and medical services, but it was the supportive relationships she built that changed her life.
“It was unbelievable the love and support that they were giving to a complete stranger. It was a type of love I didn’t think was possible from another human being. It pointed me straight to Christ.”
— Ashley Cheek
