GRACE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

FORMAL DANCE DRESS GUIDELINES The Administration, Student Life Team, and Prom Dress Code Committee want these events to be an amazing night for our students! Consequences for being out of dress code are easily avoidable if the following guidelines are observed The consequences for being out of dress code, coming in a dress that has not been previously approved, or having an approved dress that was not accurately represented in the submitted photos will result in either asking the student to leave the event or serve an In-School Suspension. This will be up to the discretion of GCA Administration.

GIRLS DRESSES

Below, you will find the dress code guidelines and approval policies. Please read everything carefully and reach out if you have any questions. We are asking for each girl to submit for approval two full-length pictures (1front and 1-back) of herself in her dress no later than the date conveyed. The all-female GCA Prom Dress Code Committee will respond with an APPROVED or NOT APPROVED within three days based on the below criteria in hopes that the student will have the opportunity to alter her attire if needed. You may be asked to resubmit a picture from a different angle if the committee has any questions regarding the dress.

Please email pictures to dresscodeapproval@gcalions.com. Plunging necklines or visible cleavage are not permitted. Dress necklines should drop no lower than straight across from armpit to armpit. The collarbone may be revealed, but should not plunge lower than the armpits. Any mesh covering should be the color of the dress and not flesh-toned. Dress must completely cover the midriff (this includes any part of the stomach, sides, and lower back), with a solid material, not sheer fabric. Dress backs must be above the natural waistline. Dresses cannot exceed four inches above the knee. Slits must be no higher than four inches above the knee when standing or walking. Dresses should not be skin-tight.

We request that students who are bringing a GCA underclassman date pass along the dress code guidelines and requirement for dress approval to their dates. Likewise, students who are bringing a non-GCA date should also pass along the dress code guidelines to their date.
