No matter what is happening in the world today, whether in the United States or anywhere else, Jesus’ message to us has not changed. And He has not changed.
The need is great. It always has been. God knew the world needed a Savior.
When our Savior came, He brought words of comfort:
■ “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me… I am the way, and the truth, and the life. (John 14:1,6)
■ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)
■ In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:27)
He also brought words of challenge:
■ “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

This is why Serge exists — why missionaries share the good news, why people are discipled in their faith, why churches are planted, why food and medicine and counseling are provided, and why sacrificial giving happens to sustain it all. Because people need Jesus.

IGNITING RENEWAL
Renewal in the gospel of grace is the center point of everything Serge does.
It is not a one-time event, but should be a daily happening. And applying the gospel to your life is for the missionary, the pastor, the leader as much as it is for the new Christian. Your help is needed to take the highly regarded renewal materials that have benefited so many over the decades, develop them further, and upgrade them for the next generation.
Serge believes that when people are renewed, the mission that Jesus calls us to is also ignited. Staying rooted in our identity as God’s forgiven and deeply loved children gives us power for this mission.
The Serge renewal team is casting a wide net around the world to ignite renewal in people and churches to further the mission of God.

CALLING THE NEXT GENERATION
The world is changing. Fifty-one percent of churchgoers have never heard of the Great Commission. And only 35% of Gen Z identify as Christian. While 49% say they are non-religious, Serge has been researching this next generation to strategically reach them with the gospel.
Serge is also actively recruiting Gen Z to get involved in missions. Last year, over 200 inquiries were made online to go somewhere in the world. There were 29 interns (23 summer and six vocational), and many students gave testimony about the impact of short-term trips on their view of God and their walk with Him.
The next generation is needed to further Jesus’ Kingdom. Their hearts need to be captured with a sense of purpose, and they need to be equipped for a lifetime of

BUSINESS FOR TRANSFORMATION MEDICAL MISSIONS
As more countries close their doors, missions is becoming more complex and a new kind of missionary is needed. You won’t find them in Bible schools or seminaries. Most likely, they’ve started a business and don’t know we’re looking for them.
Often Business for Transformation work is the only way to have a gospel witness in poor developing countries, closed to traditional missionary activity where increasing opposition exists. The goal is to achieve a triple bottom line of personal, social, and spiritual benefits. People are blessed with jobs, communities are built up, and people hear about Jesus, often for the first time.
When God’s grace touches hearts, it restores relationships — and ultimately entire communities. Serge has always preached a holistic gospel and looked for ways to restore lives in every sense of the word.
The sick and dying in much of the world have little hope of receiving quality healthcare. Serge is sending medical missionaries to stand in the gap — providing care now while training local medical professionals who will provide care in the future.

Caring for missionaries in difficult situations is critical to their staying on the field, cultivating deep relationships, and building lasting gospel communities.
WHY IS MISSIONARY CARE SO IMPORTANT?
Imagine all the missionaries who would still be serving today if only they’d had that vital support during a rough patch or a personal crisis!
As Serge grows on the field, our missionary care must keep in step with that growth.
We continue to see an increase in inquiries to become a missionary. Last year, we deployed 26 new missionaries to nine countries.
This means even more missionaries sharing the saving love of Jesus with even more people who desperately need the power of the gospel! And these missionaries need your care to sustain this Kingdom work for the long haul.
Longevity of missionary service is what creates an exponential gospel impact. But longevity is only possible through robust missionary care.

BRINGING SERGE LOCAL – CAROLINAS HUB
A few years ago, we began praying and dreaming about what it might look like to “bring Serge local.” How could we bless a local community, pastors, and churches? What are the areas of need that Serge can address?
We wanted to support the pastors and communities who are supporting missions. There are many such locations around the country. We thought an area with a high concentration of Serge sending churches would be a good place to start.
Ron Coleman is a true Carolinian, having lived in the Carolinas for over 40 years. Having served as a pastor, elder, and church planter, he has been profoundly transformed by the
ministry of Serge and now shares that with the Carolinas.
Ron is bringing the larger work of Serge to Reach, Renew, and Restore the Carolinas, primarily through the work of Discipleship and Mission.
