Malmo manual chair Gliding and rocking lock guide Our manual Malmo swivel chair (standard and large) has an innovative gliding and rocking function as standard for maximum comfort. If you wish to stop the chair from gliding/rocking, you can use the lock lever which is located at the back of chair by using your foot.
How to enable and disable the gliding and rocking function: 1. Locate the lever at the back of the manual Malmo chair, near the base. 2. Using your foot, slide the lever to the right to lock the chair, this will stop it from gliding and rocking back and forth. When you lock the lever, this only stops the gliding/rocking motion, you will still be able to swivel the chair and recline. 3. To unlock the chair, using your foot again, slide the lever to the left. Please note: both, the manual and power options of the Malmo chair come with an integrated safety lock which is automatically enabled when you recline back to approximately 65 degrees. At this point, the chair will stop gliding/rocking, even if the lever is ‘unlocked’ on the manual chair. To unlock the safety lock on both manual and power, return to the upright position, this will then enable the gliding/rocking motion.
