Briefs... Water Flushing Planned Trenton Municipal Utilities staff will begin flushing the water distribution system beginning on Wednesday, May 8 and continuing for approximately two weeks. The area to be flushed includes the area west of Highway 65 to the railroad tracks from the north city limits to the south city limits. Flushing will take place during weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. According to TMU, this is a semi-annual requirement of the water treatment process. There may be some discolored water during the hours of flushing. It is recommended customers run water for a short period of time to make sure the water is clear before doing laundry or to wait until after flushing hours. Persons with questions can contact the water treatment plant at 660-359-3211.

Help Stamp Out Hunger
Members Receive Recognition
Local lettercarriers will be teaming up with the National Association of Lettercarriers to participate in the “Help Stamp Out Hunger” campaign on Saturday, May 11. Lettercarriers will be leaving bags in mailboxes this week which can be filled with non-perishable food items which, in turn, will be donated to the Community Food Pantry in Grundy County. The items will be picked up by the lettercarriers on May 11 and residents are asked to leave the bagged items next to their mailbox. Among the items suggested for donation are canned soups, canned meats, canned vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice or cereal. An envelope will also be placed in the bags in which persons can leave a monetary donation. Money will be donated to the Second Harvest Community Food Bank, which in turn will use the funds to provide additional food to the local food pantry.
New Officers Installed New officers were installed and special awards presented to members of the Trenton FFA during the chapter’s annual banquet on Friday night in the Trenton High School gym. The chapter president for 2019-20 is Grace Allen. Other officers are Mackenzie McAtee and Allena Allen, vice presidents; McKenna Cox, secretary; Kayli Crawford, treasurer; Jaycie Griffin, Camdyn Leeper and Olivia Roberts, reporters; Kidridge Griffin, sentinel; and Logan Stanton, chaplain. Announced as junior officers were Colton Roy, secretary; Rebecca Urich, treasurer; and Randy Bowden and Allison Yoder, reporters. STAR awards were presented to Teresa Yoder, STAR Chapter Farmer; Mackenzie McAtee, STAR Chapter in Placement; McKenna Cox, STAR Chapter in Agribusiness; and Colton Roy and Kaci Persell, STAR Greenhand. Receiving the Gary Brinser Outstanding Senior Award was Melea Farmer, who was also awarded the Jerry Whitney Memorial Scholarship. The Black Family Outstanding Junior Award went to Grace Allen. The Kiwanis Loan went to Allison Yoder while Kaci Persell was awarded the Frank Hoffman Memorial SAE Loan. The BTC Bank SAE Award went to Kidridge Griffin and the Black Family WLC Loan was presented to Matthew Slater.

The Trenton High School choirs will present their spring concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at the First Baptist Church. Performing groups will include the concert choir, Gold Rush and the state solo and ensemble qualifiers. Year-end honors, including the Ann Brinser and Ruth Risser awards, will be announced near the conclusion of the concert. The public is invited to attend.
Scholarships were presented to Hunter Beverlin, the Trenton FFA Alumni Scholarship; Nick Velazquez, the Steinhoff Scholarship; Grace Allen, Matthew Slater, Logan Stanton, Dolan Huber and Noah Lewis, the Washington Leadership Conference Scholarships; and Camdyn Leeper, Allison Yoder and Kaci Persell, the Meservey FFA Public Speaking Scholarship. The Blue and Gold Award for leadership, teamwork and participation went to Allena Allen. Kayli Crawford received the Black and Gold Award for her impact on the chapter and its members. The Brownfield Buckle Award, presented by KTTN, went to Allena Allen and Dolan Huber. Chapter Leadership Medals were presented to Randy Bowden and Rebecca Urich, freshmen; Kidridge Griffin and Olivia Roberts, sophomores; Logan Stanton and Allena Allen, juniors; and Teresa Yoder and Melea Farmer, seniors. Trenton Man Dies In Mishap A Trenton resident was killed on Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Daviess County. Richard Moore, 61, was pronounced dead at the Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany, where he was taken following the accident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the motorcycle he was operating was southbound on Highway 13, one mile north of Coffey, when it went off the roadway, hit a guardrail and overturned, causing Moore to be ejected. The vehicle received extensive damage. Moore was riding as part of the “Grandma’s Ride” poker run, which was being held to raise funds to support the Trenton Fire Department. The ride, sponsored by Cissy Wilcoxson, is held yearly in memory of four children who perished in a 2015 house fire in Trenton.

Twelve Pages CLASS OF 2019 Graduation Is May 12
Events Honor Seniors This will be a busy week for the Trenton High School Class of 2019, which will have several events leading up to graduation ceremonies on Sunday, May 12. The Senior Awards program will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 in the high school gym. Students will be recognized for their academic achievements with the presentation of various scholarships and honors. Baccalaureate will be held immediately following the awards presentation and will take place at the First Baptist Church. Class members will conduct the ceremonies, which will feature newlynamed Trenton High School Principal Kasey Bailey as the guest speaker. Class President Saedee Jackson will give the invocation, Isaac Harris will have the scripture reading and Salem Croy will give the devotion before the introduction of the speaker by Laura Carlson. Senior members of Gold Rush will have the special music and the prelude will be presented by Charlie Bacon, Matt Sibbit and Dylan Harris. Graduation will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 in the Ketcham Community Center on the campus of North Central Missouri College. The class valedictorian and salutatorian will give remarks during the ceremony, which will also include recognition of honor graduates by THS Principal Ron Franklin. Franklin, Superintendent Dan Wiebers and Board President Doug Franklin will present diplomas to members of the senior class, who will also be congratulated by a representative from the faculty and noncertified staff as selected by the class. There will also be special music by the THS Concert Band and Gold Rush.

Annual FFA Banquet Honors Member Achievements The Grundy R-5 FFA Chapter held its annual banquet on Wednesday, May 1 in the school gym, recognizing members for their achievements during the year. Greenhand Degrees were awarded to Daya Allnutt, Fletcher Christy, Logan Foster, Tracer Golden, Colton Smiley, Caden Gann, Abigail Mathews and Dorothy Mathews. Trenton Girls Avenge Earlier Loss, Top Lawson In St. Joe In what has been a remarkable season for the Trenton High School girls track and field team, only twice in 11 meets have the Bulldogs failed to capture the meet championship. One of those occasions came at the Nick Sloop Relays in Lawson when the Trenton girls finished runner-up to the host Lawson Cardinals. At the Lafayette Relays in St. Joseph on Thursday, Trenton avenged that loss by tallying 163 points to best runner-up Lawson’s total of 121.5 and capture its ninth meet championship of the season. “Overall I was really proud of our girls for going to back-to-back meets and performing the way they did,” Trenton girls Coach Chris Parks said. “They were determined to not lose (to Lawson) again.” Trenton dominated the day, winning six gold medals and doubleplacing in nine events. Lexi Whitaker went undefeated on the day for Trenton, winning every event in which she was entered. Individually, she won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.78 and the 300-
meter hurdles with a time of 47.39. Whitaker also won two relays, combining with Kristi Ewing, McKayla Blackburn and Lexi Gott to win the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:09.96 and with Ewing, Gott and Chandler Lynch to win the 4x200meter relay with a time of 1:49.15. Ewing picked up individual gold in the 400-meter dash, winning with a time of 1:01.88 and was also second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.21. Maci Moore rounded out the gold medals for Trenton, placing first in the high jump by clearing 4-10. She was also second in the shot put with a throw of 36-0 and third in the triple jump with a mark of 31-4.75. Trenton’s distance runners had a strong day at the relays as Gwyneth Foster and Blackburn ran second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run. Foster crossed the line with a time of 2:41.18 and Blackburn was right behind her with a time of 2:43.28. Both were members of the 4x800-meter relay team as well, combining with Gracyn Rongey and Mor-

gan King to place second with a time of 11:08. Rongey added another runner-up finish in the 1,600-meter run, placing second with a time of 6:16.66, and King was sixth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 15:23.89. Katie Markell placed in both the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, taking fourth in the 3,200 with a time of 14:34.34 and sixth in the 1,600 with a time of 6:27.3. “It’s really tough in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter events when you have meets on back-to-back days,” Parks said. “Those girls were running good at the meet, but they also got their best times of the season. They got us a lot of points.” Hurley was one of six runner-up finishers for Trenton in the field events. She was second in the long jump with a mark of 15-8 and also placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 30-7.5. Emma Curtis finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 14-2 to allow Trenton to double-place in that event. She was also third in the pole vault after clearing 6-

Other placewinners for the Trenton girls included Chandler Lynch, fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.86; Salem Croy and Kendall Crowley, tied for fifth in the discus with twin throws of 101-7; the 4x100meter relay team of Hurley, Gott, Curtis and Shay Westerhof, fifth with a time of 53.65; Westerhof, sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.55; and Evy McCullough, eighth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 58.49. The top four finishers behind Trenton were all schools the Bulldogs will see at the Class 3, District 8 meet in Chillicothe on Saturday, May 11. In addition to Lawson, third-place Chillicothe (110), fourth-place Maryville (78) and fifth-place Bishop Hogan (65) are all district foes for the Bulldogs. Trenton has one more stop before the district meet, which comes on Tuesday when Trenton returns to St. Joseph for the Benton Cardinal Relays. That event is set for a 3:30 p.m. start.

Trenton Fills Softball, Basketball Spots Trenton High School put the finishing touches on its high school coaching assignments for fall and winter sports at a special board of education meeting last week. Joel Hultman will replace John Cowling as the head of the softball program and Corbin Coe takes over for Jeremy Austin as the head boys’ basketball coach. Hultman replaces Cowling as the head softball coach after Cowling resigned the post following his promotion to assistant high school principal. Cowling took over the program in 2012 and guided the Bulldogs to a 154-28 record over seven years as the team’s head coach. He oversaw four district and three conference championships and a run to the state final four that ended with
a runner-up finish this past season. “"Leaving the softball program after being a part of it for the last 14 years was a difficult decision to make,” Cowling said. “I have been fortunate to have coached some incredibly talented, high character individuals who were fun to work with every day. I’m excited to see where Coach Hultman and Coach (Kameron) Cool can take the program in the future.” Hultman is currently the head baseball coach at Trenton and served as the middle school softball head coach last fall. which was important,” Athletic Director Wes Croy said. “We had more than one candidate that would been viable hires, but that fact that he had that experience coupled with the fact that he was with our girls for their postseason run on the bench are what made us feel good about moving him to that position.” Hultman is excited for the opportunity to work with the most successful athletic program at Trenton in over the past decade. “I’m excited to get the job and lead the program,” Hultman said. “They have a rich history that, hopefully, we can keep building on. One of my specialties is working on the fundamentals, so we are going to develop talent to go with the talent that is coming back and hopefully have a good team.” Coe comes to Trenton from King City. He takes over a program that was guided for the past 12 seasons by Austin. Austin is leaving to take over the program at Scotland County - a move that puts him closer to home. “It was a tough decision for
us to decide to move,” Austin said. “We’ve been very happy here and the community has been great, but we have the opportunity right now to go back and take over a program that is five minutes from where my parents live and 15 minutes from where my wife’s parents live. It’s never easy to make changes like this, but right now is the time for us to go back.” Coe has shown the ability to take over for a long-term coach in the past when he took the reins at Newtown-Harris when long-time Tiger Coach Tim Cool moved on to Chillicothe. “(Coe) is familiar to this area and familiar with this job and what it entails from when he was at Newtown,” Croy said. “He is still what I would consider a young coach, but one with a ton of basketball coaching experience, which is something we were looking for. He blew us away in the interview. He came in with a plan for our program and what he wanted to do with it. We just felt like with the coaches that we have coming in, he would be a really good fit.”

TRENTON BOYS The Trenton boys were without Brian Ewing at Lafayette and the end result was a 37-point day - one that placed Trenton seventh in the 10team field. Carson Burchett had the highest finish for Trenton, tying for second in the shot put with a throw of 47-7.5. Hunter Trask was fourth in that event with a throw of 44-10.5. The shot put was the only event where Trenton double placed. Three other Bulldogs scored points in multiple events. Dylan Harris was third in the triple jump with a mark of 40-8 and eighth in the high jump after clearing 5-4; Camdyn Leeper was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.29 and fifth in the 300meter hurdles with a time of 46.07; and Hayden Griffin was fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.03 and fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.8. The Trenton boys will also be at Benton on Tuesday and will travel to Chillicothe for district action on Saturday, May 11.

The Trenton Middle School boys just missed a Grand River Conference East championship on Thursday at the GRC East Relays at C.F. Russell Stadium. The Bulldogs tallied 90 points, finishing just behind Milan’s conference championship total of 92. Gallatin was third with 85 points. “This meet came down to the wire,” TMS boys Coach Brandon Boswell said. “To miss winning a conference championship by two points was disappointing, but I thought our boys competed their best in everything they did. The GRC has a lot of talent this year and our kids were some of the best. I really appreciate their hard work and dedication this season,. It was a lot of fun.” Trenton did have three individual conference champions. Dylan Spencer won the discus with a throw of 117-9 and the shot put with a throw of 37-10. The 4x100-meter relay team of Ian Elbert, Frankie Halstead, Nicholas Smith and Jarek Habelitz also placed first, winning with a time of 51.31. Habelitz finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.38 and the 4x400meter relay team of Rudy Esparza, Elbert, Smith and Coleman Griffin was second
as well, finishing runner-up with a time of 4:17.61. Smith was third in the 100meter hurdles with a time of 17.32 and Hunter McAtee was third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.93. The 4x200meter relay team of Griffin, Levi Johnson, Halstead and Elbert rounded out Trenton’s top-three finishers with a third-place time of 1:51.06. TMS GIRLS The Trenton Middle School girls placed fifth in the eightteam field with 48.25 points. South Harrison won the girls’ title with 130 points to top runner-up Princeton (80) and third-place Maysville (62.25). Savannah Triplet won the Trenton girls’ lone gold medal, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.45. She was also second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.94. Both times were personal bests for Triplet. Trenton also had a top-three finisher in Ivy Foster, who was second in the discus with a throw of 72-4. “I’m very proud of a great season with the girls,” TMS girls’ Coach Jennifer Dickson said. “They fought hard, improved and we had a lot of fun... I have loved every minute with these girls.” The conference meet closed out the middle school track and field season.

She was a member of First Christian Church, the Campbell Circle of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, a life member of Major Dale Stepp Post No. 31 of the American Legion Auxiliary, Parson Chapter No. 189 of the OES, the Grundy County Farm Bureau and the Grundy County Genealogy Society. She was a former member of Christian churches Disciples of Christ of Spickard, Community Church of Kansas City and Wyatt Park of St. Joseph; Trenton Elks Lodge No. 801 Ladies Auxiliary; the Southside Farm Club; and Phi Theta Kappa honor society,
pep squad and Phi Mu Epsilon sorority, all of Trenton Junior College. She was married on June 3, 1961 in Trenton to Robert Ross McVay, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2017. Federal Appeals Court Rejects Challenge BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A federal appeals court panel on Friday rejected the state of Missouri's challenge to a massive upstream Missouri River water project in North Dakota, potentially ending a second legal battle over the project that has been in the works for more than three decades. The $244 million Northwest Area Water Supply project aims to bring river water to 82,000 people in northwestern North Dakota, giving them a reliable source of quality water. Missouri worries the project will diminish the river water it needs for drinking, farming and shipping. The state sued in 2009. The underlying dispute centers on how much water NAWS will actually use. Missouri maintains it will deplete the river by 3.5 billion gallons each year, causing "manifold injuries to Missouri's sovereign and proprietary interests." North Dakota counters that the number is misleading because the river system has the capacity for more than 23 trillion gallons of water. The legal battle didn't address the water disagreement. U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer in Washington, D.C., ruled in 2017 that Missouri had no authority to sue the federal government over the matter. The state appealed, but a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday upheld Collyer's ruling. "In the end, we are unpersuaded by Mis-
souri's argument" that there are exceptions in case law under which its claim fits. Missouri could appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. Chris Nuelle, spokesman for the Missouri attorney general's office, said Friday that their lawyers will review the court's decision "and consider our next step." North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem praised the ruling, calling it "a significant and long-sought victory for the citizens of North Dakota." Congress first authorized the NAWS project in 1986. It ran into a snag in 2002 when the Canadian province of Manitoba sued over concerns about the possible transfer of harmful bacteria or other agents from the Missouri River Basin to the Hudson Bay Basin. The international dispute was resolved about a year ago when the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Manitoba government reached an agreement giving Canada a say in water treatment and monitoring. A combined $133 million in federal, state and local money has been spent so far on nearly 250 miles of pipeline and other infrastructure, with another 60 miles of pipeline to go, project manager Tim Freije said. The system currently serves more than 30,000 people. Future state and federal funding is not guaranteed, but state officials hope to complete the project by 2023, Freije said.

TRENTON HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION I would like to use this week’s Bulldog Bark as an opportunity to inform and invite the community to join with the Trenton High School student body in celebrating this year’s High School graduation festivities. The final countdown has begun for THS seniors. Four years of bulldog classes and activities will come to an end for 77 Trenton High School seniors on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12. But before they put on the their cap and gowns and march across the stage of the Ketcham Community Center they will have to tie up a few loose ends at the high school. Seniors do have two days of finals on May 6-7. Senior grades will be finalized on Wednesday, May 8. All A-Plus tutoring hours will be tabulated and THS will get an opportunity to recognize seniors in their own awards night. I would like to take this time to invite parents and the community to the senior awards night which will be held at the high school gymnasium at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8. This ceremony will recognize our graduates in many areas of the school life as well as the awarding of various scholarships. It is a great opportunity to see the vast involvement and contributions that these graduating seniors had in the THS community. A traditional baccalaureate service will be held at the First Baptist Church following the ceremony. Thursday, May 9 will be the last official day that this students will be in attendance. The majority of day will be spent in cap and
gown. The graduating seniors will be visiting TMS and Rissler Elementary and taking a stroll down memory lane where it actually began for a vast majority of these students. The graduates in cap and gown will parade through the halls greeting students and teachers and setting examples for these students. They then will return to the high school for a series of pictures with our photographer. At the conclusion of these required pictures they will eat their final lunch in the THS commons. The group will return to the gym on Thursday afternoon for graduation practice. On behalf of the graduating seniors of the Trenton R-9 School District, I would like to invite parents, friends, relatives and the general public to the graduation ceremony held on Sunday, May 12 at 2 p.m. in the Ketcham Center on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton. As the building principal at the high school I get the opportunity to read the names of these students as they cross the stage and receive a diploma that they and their families have worked hard for. These are the type of moments that make you proud to be in public education. It is the point where the Trenton R-9 School district’s mission statement is put to the test - to prepare students to be capable, contributing, caring participates in an ever-changing world. I am proud of our graduates and hope that the Trenton community can be as well.

Dear Annie: I've been married for 32 years, but my wife and I have never made a great pair. We now have two grown children and a well-established life in the local community. I find great fulfillment in my work and my hobbies, but our home life is miserable -- for me, for my wife and for my children. follow the adage. But history shows that when the market hits new highs it isn’t detrimental to near-term returns, says Mark Haefele, chief investment officer for UBS Global Wealth Management. In a research note this week, Haefele argues that following the sell-in-May strategy lowers long-term returns. “We believe it’s important to focus on time in the market, rather than timing the market,” he wrote, suggesting that investors ensure their stock portfolio is set up to meet long-term goals and also to protect against near-term volatility.
Does Wall Street’s adage to “Sell in May and go away” hold up when the market is on a tear? Stocks have racked up solid gains this year, rebounding from a steep tumble in the final months of 2018 and rising faster than corporate earnings. The benchmark S&P 500 index capped April with three straight all-time highs. It’s now up about 16% this year, while the Nasdaq is up more than 20%, riding strong gains in technology sector stocks. Each state differs, but the general idea behind the guardianship process allows a concerned person to file a petition with the court to determine whether a person is able to care for themselves and their property. The person who is being required to submit to the evaluation is entitled to an attorney, so her sister should have one representing her. Generally, the court will appoint one (pro bono) or she can retain one. I would encourage her to make sure her sister has an attorney specializing in guardianships and elder law. Man Charged With ID Theft Felony charges of stealing and identity theft have resulted in a Trenton man being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on cash bond. According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 34year-old Justin W. Stephenson is charged with the class D felonies of stealing: without consent and identity theft. He is accused of stealing U.S. currency of at least $750 from Joseph Barnes and of using Barnes’ Social Security number to receive that money. The crimes allegedly occurred between April 23 and April 30. Stephenson is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond and has a court appearance scheduled for May 14. Also arrested was Michelle Harding, 36, Milan, who has violated the terms of her parole on multiple charges of stealing and passing bad checks. She is being returned to the Missouri Department of Corrections to complete her sentence.
Benefit Topic Of Rotary Club Members of the Trenton Rotary Club heard information regarding a benefit for a local resident during its meeting on Thursday, May 1. Tim Michael, Dave Bain and Wendell Lenhart talked about the benefit for Howie Lynch which was held on May 3-4. The benefit included a golf tournament at the Riverside Country Club as well as a barbecue meal and auction of donated items. All proceeds went to assist Lynch and his family as he undergoes treatments for cancer. Among the auction items were a two-day stay at Bass Point Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks, a two-day stay at a condo in Branson, a suite for 20 at a Kansas City Royals baseball game, a Missouri football helmet signed by recently-drafted NFL quarter-
back Drew Lock, tickets and a parking pass for the Dec. 1 Kansas City Chiefs-Oakland Raiders football game, two smokers, a fire pit and several gift certificates. During the business meeting, Michael updated members on its recent grant application for funds to be used by the club to build a storage area for items used by the Trenton R-9 School District in the Bright Futures Trenton program. The club should be notified later this month if the grant is successful and, if so, should receive its funds in August to begin work. Members were also reminded of the “Every Rotarian, Every Year� program in which the club donates $100 for each member to the Rotary International Foundation.
Area Students On Honor List Three area residents are among Graceland University students to receive academic honors following the conclusion of the spring semester. Amber Sprague of Trenton and Amanda Dowell of Chula were named to the president’s list for achieving a 4.0 grade point average. Destin Gann of Galt was named to the honors list with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99.
Lions Club Holds Meeting The Trenton Lions Club met Tuesday, April 30 in the First Christian Church Family Activity Center. President Seth Cox led the pledge to the flag, followed by a prayer by George Moore. Bob Lewis served as “tail twister.� Program chairperson John Holcomb introduced co-chairmen of the Lions Classic Basketball Tournament, David Primm of Maryville and Lion Mickey Beach of Brookfield. More than 100 players and coaches are committed to participating in tournament activ-
ities, on May 31 and June 1 at the Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus. Trenton High School will be represented by four seniors, Dylan Harris, Mykah Hurley, Sidney Lynch and Ainsley Tolson. The event will kick off with a Friday night banquet. Former University of Missouri Tiger and Brookfield Bulldog Luke Lambert is the scheduled speaker. Proceeds from the Saturday gate receipts and advertising will go toward the Lions Club Audio Reader Program.

TPD To Host Coffee Event The Trenton Police Department will hold “Coffee with a Cop� on Wednesday, May 15 at Hardee’s. The event will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. Citizens are invited to visit with members of the police department and
ask questions about the department, special programs or law enforcement in general. The police department is also asking that local businesses or organizations wanting to host a “Coffee with a Cop� event to contact the TPD.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the North Central Missouri College Barton Farm Campus and is being co-sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation, the NCMC Barton Farm Campus and the National Wild Turkey Federation. The event is free for the youth and lunch is being provided by the National Wild Turkey Federation. Participating youth will also be eligible
for prizes. Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult and youth 16 and older must have a Missouri fishing permit. Businesses, organizations, or individuals that would like to provide prizes or contribute money to purchase prizes for the kids are encouraged to contact the police department as soon as possible. Crowder State Park will host a wildflower hike on Saturday, May 11.
