It might not look like the traditional start to fall in classrooms, performing venues and shopping malls, but you can always rely on GPB as a consistent respite from the challenges our world can sometimes present.

Interrupting programming on GPB is something we do with trepidation, and we are so thankful to you for your continued support so that we can continue to ensure the number of days we fundraise on television decreases from year to year — a hallmark goal of the development professionals at GPB. The series details the story of the athlete who called himself “the greatest of all time” and competed in some of the most dramatic and widely viewed sporting events ever, including “The Fight of the Century” and “The Thrilla in Manila,” both against his great rival Joe Frazier, and “The Rumble in the Jungle,” in which he defeated George Foreman to regain the heavyweight title that was stripped from him seven years earlier. MUHAMMAD ALI also captures Ali’s principled resistance to the Vietnam War, his steadfast commitment to his Muslim faith, and his complex relationships with Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X, who profoundly shaped his life and worldview.

GPB EDUCATION FREE WELLNESS SERIES FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

PB is partnering with the Georgia Department of Education and award-winning filmmaker and HOPE GIVERS Founder/CEO Tamlin Hall for Hope Givers, a new uplifting wellness series highlighting hope and

resilience. A first of its kind, Hope Givers will be distributed by GPB and be available nationwide on PBS LearningMedia this fall. The wellness series will be Health Standards Aligned for Excellence and available to use in middle school and high school classrooms across the country free of charge.

Episodes showcase real stories, animation shorts, youth self-care activities, student films and musical performances. Hall’s first feature film, Holden On, was screened earlier this year by GPB and told the story of his childhood friend Holden Layfield’s undiagnosed mental illness and suicide at the age of 19. The film was highly acclaimed for its authentic depiction of dual diagnosis, winning awards across the country.
