A Word from GPB President Bert Wesley Huffman

Dear Friends,

December is a month of holidays. And while most of them are associated with gift giving and receiving, it’s also a good time to look back at all the gifts GPB has provided over the last year in the form of quality television, informative radio, innovative education and digital ventures and all-important community engagement. Thank you for making all that possible. Without the vital support you provide we wouldn’t be able to serve you and others across the state with these things and more!

This is also a time of reflection about what matters to us, and one of those things for me is GPB. You see, you have a very intimate relationship with GPB’s product – the entertaining and engaging programming that comes to you across a number of mediums enhancing the quality of your life. I have the wonderful blessing of seeing everything that goes into making that possible. The people who work at GPB are the most dedicated group I’ve ever known. They believe in the mission of this company, and regardless of what part they play, they’re invested in our shared success. A few months ago, I asked the company to engage in an exercise of sharing words they thought embodied GPB. I thought it was a great idea for a staff t-shirt… GPB is… but what I got instead was an absolute reminder of what we mean to the communities we serve as well as one another. Words like community, education, love, knowledge, truth, trust and so many more peppered my email for days. It was affirmation. We are doing the right thing.

You know what else is affirming? You! And the time you spend with us. You’ll see as you look through the schedule that GPB TV has a lot of wonderful holiday programming coming up this month as part of our annual Season of Giving. In addition, you’ll see some new items from FRONTLINE to American Masters, and of course the exciting new Mary Berry’s Ultimate Christmas premiering Monday, December 19 at 9 p.m.

Read on to hear about GPB’s work in the community through education, engagement, high school football and more. We are here for you and because of you. Thank you so much for your investment and your trust.

See you in 2023 for another year of quality.

Warmly,

IT’S SHOWTIME!
