FOREWORD MIKIEL ANTON VASSALLI COLLEGE

Running a complex for the visual and performing arts educa6on in Gozo is no joke. Up un6l some few years ago, courses in Music, Dance & Drama as well as Art were offered in three different schools in different locali6es in Gozo (Nadur, Sannat and Ghajnsielem). Then, in 2014 the 3 schools in Gozo were merged to form what is now known as the Gozo Visual and Performing Arts School in Xewkija. Two years later, this School in Gozo joined the other specialized schools of Art Music Drama & Dance in Malta and are now part of the network of specialized schools on the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College. ASer four years of hard work, we can proudly announce that the Gozo VPA School is now licenced as an Ins6tu6on for Further and Higher Educa6on, meaning that this School is responsible for seeing that all the obliga6ons endorsed by this licence are always observed and implemented accordingly. Registered learners in Gozo can now have their minds at rest that their studies will lead to their well merited accredited cer6fica6on. It is always my pleasure to see how this school is collabora6ng with other cultural en66es and although during the past years such ini6a6ves were limited due to the pandemic, I look forward to see more joint projects taking place since I believe that at the end it is the Gozitan student who will benefit from such inclusion between the academic studies and the world of work. As you can see from this prospectus for the academic year 2021-22, the MAVC Gozo VPA School offers a number of training opportuni6es in the various disciplines of art, music, drama and dance. Gozitan residents can opt to register for any course/s of their interest and choice. I augur the current 774 students in progressing with their studies and hope that new learners will join us for the coming academic year.
