Translators and interpreters from the Polish Literary Translators Association (STL) will be on duty at the Goyki 3 Art Inkubator. During the duty hours, they will be happy to share their knowledge about their translations or autograph their editions.

Słuchanie polskich tekstów czytanych przez osoby nieznające języka polskiego nie jest łatwe. Początkowo nie rozumiemy, co to za język i o co chodzi. Potem śmieszą językowe przeinaczenia, problemy z wymową, dziwne brzmienia. Śmieszą, póki nie zaczynamy rozumieć, że to nasz ojczysty język. A czytane z takim trudem teksty to dostępne w internecie dowcipy o Holokauście.

Listening to Polish texts read by people who do not speak Polish is not easy. At first we don’t understand what the language is about or even what is meant. Then you laugh at all the slip-ups in language, pronunciation problems, strange sounds. They are funny until we start to understand that it is our mother tongue. And the texts we read with such difficulty are the Holocaust jokes available on the Internet.

Krystyna Piotrowska

Studiowała na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie – Wydział Architektury Wnętrz (1966–1972), w Państwowej Wyższej Szkole Sztuk Plastycznych w Poznaniu – Wydział Grafiki i Malarstwa (1972–1975) oraz w Grafikskolan Forum w Malmö (1985–1990). Tworzy prace łączące fotografię, techniki graficzne i malarstwo. Jest autorką instalacji i wideo. Jej twórczość dotyka głównie tematu identyfikacji i pamięci. W latach 2006–2012 roku była autorką i kuratorką wystawy Projekt Próżna, w 2014 kuratorką wystawy Adoracja słodyczy w Zachęcie, w 2017 wystawy Złe kobiety w Centrum Kultury Zamek w Poznaniu. Wielokrotnie prowadziła warsztaty z grafiki na Summer Academy of Art w Salzburgu. Miała wiele wystaw indywidualnych w Polsce i zagranicą, brała udział w wielu wystawach zbiorowych. Jest laureatką wielu nagród. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kracow – Faculty of Interior Design (1966–1972), at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań - Faculty of Graphics and Painting (1972–1975) and at Grafikskolan Forum in Malmö (1985–1990). She creates works that combine photography, graphic techniques and painting. She is also the author of installations and videos. Her work mainly touches on the subject of identification and memory. In the years 2006–2012, she was the author and curator of the Projekt Próżna exhibition. In 2014, she was the curator of the Adoracja Słodyczy exhibition at Zachęta. In 2017, she was the curator of the Złe kobiety exhibition at the Zamek Cultural Center in Poznań. She has conducted graphics workshops many times at the Summer Academy of Art in Salzburg. She has had many individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and also participated in many collective exhibitions. She is the winner of many awards.

Wernisaż jednego obrazu to cykl prezentujący sylwetki wielkich polskich i zagranicznych malarek. Kobiety w sztuce wciąż nie są wystarczająco eksponowane, a wręcz z niej często wymazywane. Niewiele zmieniło się od czasów założenia w 1768 roku Brytyjskiej Akademii Królewskiej, do której należały wprawdzie dwie malarki – Angelika Kauffman i Mary Moser, ale ani jedna, ani druga nie znalazły się na zbiorowym portrecie członków Akademii Królewskiej autorstwa Johanna Zoffany’ego obok innych członków-założycieli. Wykluczanie, jakiemu podlegały artystki przez stulecia, wpłynęło na postrzeganie sztuki z męskiej perspektywy. Chcemy przywrócić znaczenie i należne im miejsce utalentowanym kobietom, które z powodów uprzedzeń społecznych są wciąż mało znane i nierozpoznawalne.

Single-painting exhibition is a series presenting the profiles of great Polish and foreign women painters. Women in art are still not given enough prominence, and indeed are often erased from it. Little has changed since the founding of the British Royal Academy in 1768, which did include two female painters, Angelika Kauffman and Mary Moser, but neither one of them is in the collective portrait of the members of the Royal Academy by Johann Zoffany alongside the other founding members. The exclusion to which female artists have been subjected for centuries has caused art to be perceived from a male perspective. We want to restore the importance and rightful place of talented women who are still little known and unrecognised due to social prejudices.

Niemiecka graficzka i rzeźbiarka, związana z nurtem ekspresjonizmu. Była pierwszą kobietą przyjętą w poczet członków pruskiej Królewskiej Akademii Sztuk i najważniejszą niemiecką graficzką XX wieku. Socjalistka, feministka (założycielka Artystycznego Związku Kobiet w Berlinie w 1913 roku) i pacyfistka. Głównymi tematami swej dojrzałej twórczości uczyniła wojnę, nienawiść, biedę, miłość, smutek, śmierć i walkę.

Käthe Kollwitz was a German printmaker and sculptor associated with the expressionist movement. She was the first woman admitted as a member of the Prussian Royal Academy of Arts and the most important German printmaker of the 20th century. A socialist, feminist (she founded the Association of Women Artists in Berlin in 1913) and pacifist. She made war, hatred, poverty, love, sadness, death and struggle the main themes of her mature work.

W latach 2009–2015 był dziennikarzem, a później również publicystą „Dziennika Bałtyckiego”, obecnie jest reporterem tvn24.pl, w przeszłości pisał dla: „Gazety Wyborczej”, „Rzeczpospolitej”, Wirtualnej Polski, „Uważam Rze”, „Tygodnika Powszechnego”, „Focus Historia”. W 2009 roku otrzymał nagrodę Grand Prix w konkursie im. Maćka Szumowskiego. W latach 2010 i 2011 otrzymał tytuł Dziennikarza Roku Tygodnika Angora i nagrodę im. Piotra Różyckiego. W 2013 roku wygrał konkurs na opowiadanie kryminalne organizowany w ramach Festiwalu Literacki Sopot. Opowiadanie ukazało się w antologii Sopot, czwarta rano. Jest autorem kilku książek, m.in. Kaszëbë (Wyd. Czarne, Wołowiec, 2021), Sopoty (Wyd. Czarne, Wołowiec 2023). From 2009 to 2015, Tomasz Słomczyński was a journalist and later also a publicist for Dziennik Bałtycki, he is currently a reporter for tvn24.pl. In the past, he wrote for: Gazeta Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita, Wirtualna Polska, Uważam Rze, Tygodnik Powszechny, Focus Historia. In 2009, he received the Grand Prix of the Maciej Szumowski Award. In 2010 and 2011, he was awarded the title of the Journalist of the Year by the Angora weekly, as well as the Piotr Różycki Award. In 2013, he won the competition for a detective story organised as part of the Sopot by the Book Festival. The short story was published in the Sopot, czwarta rano anthology. He is the author of several books, including Kaszëbë (Czarne publishing house, Wołowiec, 2021), Sopoty (Czarne publishing house, Wołowiec 2023).

Blisko to piękne studium przyjaźni i odpowiedzialności. Jest drugim filmem pełnometrażowym belgijskiego scenarzysty i reżysera filmowego Lukasa Dhonta. Miał premierę na Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Filmowym w Cannes w 2022 roku, gdzie ex aequo z Gwiazdami w południe Claire Denis otrzymał Grand Prix. 27 czerwca zdobył Nagrodę Publiczności LUX 2023 dla najlepszego filmu. The intense friendship between two thirteen-year old boys Léo and Rémi suddenly gets disrupted. Struggling to understand what has happened, Léo approaches Sophie, Rémi's mother. Close is a beautiful study of friendship and responsibility. It is a second feature film of Belgian film director and screenwriter Lukas Dhont. It premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where he shared the Grand Prix with Claire Denis' Stars at Noon. On 27 June it was announced as the winner of the 2023 LUX Audience Award. The LUX Audience Award is an annual project of the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas.
