Isn’t it weird how right before every new season of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' something seems to happen?

On Saturday September 23rd, CHATA announced the new chefs of the Curaçao Culinary Team 2018. The winners will represent Curaçao internationally at the 'Taste of the Caribbean competitions' in Miami next year.

Last Saturday 12 Chefs competed for the honors of becoming part of the new Culinary Team. The winners were selected by a group of elite judges consisting of international celebrity chef Hans van Triest, winner of Caribbean Chef of the year 2006, Frans Smits (Capriles Kliniek), Jeroen van der Velden (Gouverneur), Carlos Anthonij (Nemo), Helmie Smeulders (Spice Girl), Mike Pastoor (Avila Beach Hotel) and Toon Kennis (Maris Stella). Congratulations to all the winners: Jereld Balentien, Jevgeny Hasselmeyer, Sjagnon Winklaar, Brayan Arroyo and Jonathan Pietersz!

Double Play in New York!

The movie Double Play which is adapted from the novel

by Frank Martinus Arion’s 'Dubbelspel' had its American premiere at the Urban World Film Festival in New York City on Friday September 23rd. Double Play which was filmed here in Curaçao and released in March of 2017 here on the island, was also screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam where the King and Queen of the Netherlands were part of the audience. The Urban World Film Festival in New York showcases movies that inspire and expose the cross-cultural community of makers and innovators redefining the 'urban' world.

What’s the next event you will be working at and what can people expect?

The next event will be Real 2 Real on October 8th. People can expect so much! Maybe I’ll go crazy and I will join one of the drivers for drifting, you never know. I’ll be walking around, interacting with the crowd while promoting our product (Kuzeta). Oh, and I almost forgot, I will also be handing out some give away items!

What do you do in your free time?

I love to dance. I should do it more often but I guess life gets busy at times and I actually ride the quad as well. I can drift pretty well but I still need to learn how to hop, but I’ll get there!

How do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

I see myself as a successful independent hard working woman, that will care for her family and everyone around her!

On Sunday October 8th, Rijunior Eugenio and his dedicated team will satisfy that need with their 4th edition of the 'Real 2 Real' race event at Curaçao’s International Raceway in Ronde klip. Rijnuior who’s 33 himself, clearly recalls being a kid when he first fell in love with cars. "It all started at home for me. My father was obsessed with cars. I clearly remember him having his tricked out Mercedes Benz and taking care of it like it was his own flesh and blood. From that moment on I started showing interest in the sport. I started driving myself, taking the family car for an unsupervised spin from time to time", Rijunior had to laugh while reminiscing about the past.

This event is dedicated to those who love the adrenaline rush of screeching tires and the smell of burning rubber invading their breathing space.

For the lovers of fierce competition who will give it their all to be victorious on the race track. For bragging rights and cash money. If you fit into one of these categories than this event was made for you.

Competitions Real 2 Real is known to raise the bar each year, making the competitions challenging for the racers and exciting to the public.

This year Real 2 Real has the usual crowd pleasers such as: - Car racing (2 at a time) - Motorcycle racing - Wheelie competition which includes: Quads, motorcycles, and scooters - Fever competition which includes: Cars and motorcycles - Car Drift competition - Drone racing The drifting competitions will be judged by world known driver Forrest Wang. Forrest has been drifting since the age of 15. While growing up he would drive less expensive cars to practice the art, but has since moved on to pilot fully built high horsepow-

er racecars in recent years. He has always had a pedal-to-the-metal style, which has helped him achieve numerous victories around the world.

Forrest will be joined on the judging table by old friend and Wang’s former chief mechanic Garret Nikolich.
