GOWEEKLY 38 2016 HOROSCOPE
ARIES
March, 21 - April, 19 A lot of changes could be taking place in your life now. Even though most of them are positive, the upheaval can be unsettling right now. Don't give in to panic. Nothing needs to be done that you can't handle. Take each task one step at a time.
TAURUS
Famous Libra
Kenley Jansen Born: September 30, 1987
LIBRA
September, 23 - October, 22 Expect something new to take place regarding your home. Someone could come for a visit or even move in. You could be redecorating, landscaping, or buying new furniture. There is always the possibility that you're moving. Whatever the changes, they're likely to be positive despite the messy and disruptive process of making them. You've got a lot to look forward to!
WELLNESS What if the thing you wanted most were given to you - would you know what to do with it? Think about what that would mean. What would you want? A new job? A new relationship? A new house? All these things are material and thus prone to change and disappointment. If you have your health you have something that is immaterial and thus more precious. Use the favorable aspect of the day to focus on what you really want. (Hint: focus on your health!)
2
April, 20 - May, 20 New beginnings and promising new opportunities may appear from a distant state or foreign country. Your adventurous side is excited and enthusiastic, but the side of you that wants to stay settled could put up some resistance. Don't feel you have to jump into anything. Get all the facts and assess the situation objectively.
GEMINI
May, 21 - June, 20 A financial windfall might open new doors for you, and you could consider making some major changes in your life. You might think about moving to a nicer home. Romance is definitely on your mind. If you aren't already involved in a domestic situation, you might consider it seriously now.
CANCER
SCORPIO
October, 23 - November, 22 Some wonderful news could come to you, possibly from a sibling or neighbor. It might involve money or a new opportunity that's opening up nearby. A group event concerning a subject you're very interested in could also take place. You might feel you have a lot of phone calls to make and plans to think about. The future looks bright. Enjoy!
"Don't let your insecurity get the best of you" ARIES -
SAGITTARIUS
November, 23 - December, 21 An opportunity to bring in extra income might arrive, possibly through a female friend. Another Sagittarius might be involved. This probably involves a special, temporary project, but it could prove enjoyable and profitable. A love partner might want to participate, too.
June, 21 - July, 22 Expect some positive changes in a current partnership. If this is a business partnership, a new agreement between you shows promise of success and good fortune. If this is a romance, you might be so perfectly compatible that you're considering moving to the next level of commitment.
CAPRICORN
LEO
July, 23 - August, 22 Have you been working out, following a new dietary program, or both? If so, you could look in the mirror and for the first time see some tangible and positive results. You're probably looking and feeling great. Don't abandon your efforts.
January, 20 - February, 18 Your imagination and ingenuity are flying high, and your aesthetic sense is acute right now. If you aren't already involved with such activities, look online or in the paper and see what classes or workshops are offered in your area. Get a friend to go with you.
VIRGO
PISCES
August, 23 - September, 22 Have you been thinking about relocating? The siren song of distant states or exotic lands may play constantly in your ears. Foreign cultures could inspire you artistically, spiritually, and personally. If you're serious about this, look into it.
December, 22 - January, 19 Accomplishments in the past foster a new sense of self-confidence, along with optimism and enthusiasm for the future. Travel lies ahead, and possibly advancing your education in some way. Romance also looks promising.
AQUARIUS
February, 19 - March, 20 You could encounter a potential romantic partner. You'll probably meet this person at a group event and hit it off immediately. This person is likely to be bright, physically attractive, kindhearted, and sensitive. If you're single and available, don't pass up this opportunity.

CHAMPIONS!
Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend Nick Gordon has been found "legally responsible" for her death after failing to show up to court to fight the civil lawsuit. Gordon was sued by Brown's court-appointed co-conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, following the 22-year-old's death in July, 2015.
On September 18th, 2016, the team Kingdom of the Netherlands beat Spain 3-2 in a sensational championship game at the European Championship in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
In the legal papers, Gordon was accused of giving Whitney Houston's child a "toxic cocktail" of substances which rendered her unconscious on the night of January 31, 2015, when the aspiring singer and actress was found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub at the Georgia home she shared with Gordon.
Spain tied the game in the 8th, but the team Kingdom of the Netherlands prevailed after all, scoring the game-winner in the 10th on a walk-off single. It’s the 22nd European Championship for this team. During the closing ceremony Netherlands shortstop Stijn van der Meer was named Most Valuable Player of the European Championship and Yurendell De Caster (Netherlands) received the best batter award. Congrats!
Adele plans to attend university
The 28-year-old recently revealed her disappointment at not attending an institution of higher learning, after she was forced to turn down her place at a British university in favor of a record deal. During her show in Boston last week, she told the audience she is "desperate" to be a student and her top pick would be elite U.S. Ivy League institution Harvard University. Adele's plan to take a break from music and return to education comes after the singer confirmed she is going to quit touring for 10 years. “I’m sorry if I disappear for a while, but I do it for you,” she sighed. We sure gonna miss her!

GOWEEKLY 38 2016 HOTSPOT CURAÇAO
Shete boka
National Park The island of Curaçao is one big rock. At some places this is very visible. Take Shete Boka for instance, here you can stand on the edge of the island and see clearly what it is made of. This hotspot is nature at its finest! By: Shari Jourdain
Rocks and waves If there is anything I love, it’s to see something humans have barely touched. This northern part of the island has only been touched for safety matters. It’s so gorgeous to see how big the ocean really is and for a moment, it feels as if the water itself is alive. There’s even a cavern where you can go inside and watch the water go in and out.
The park At Shete Boka Park you’ll have to use the off-road trails to admire the waves rocking unto the island. I was “smart” enough to go on flip-flops, but I advise you to walk on steady and comfortable shoes. If you’ve never been to Shete Boka, the time to go is now!

COVER STORY GOWEEKLY 38 2016
You are the first YDK to be inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame, how does that feel?
Who was your favorite team growing up and who was your baseball idol?
It was a very special feeling because I have worked very hard to get there. All the dedication, and sacrifices that were made, all paid off. That I got the opportunity to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, especially because I’m from a small island such as Curaçao, was not easy. When you look at the list of people who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, you realize that it’s not easy to get in. The Atlanta Braves have been around for well over a hundred years, and for me to be in the Hall of Fame is something truly special.
My baseball idol at that point in time was Ken Griffey Jr., and my favorite team was the Oakland Aces.
My fondest memory is when I got called up to play in the Major League. I was playing Triple-A baseball in Virginia, and was called into the room and told to pack my bags, because I was heading to the Major League. At first, I didn’t even believe them, but they told me that they were serious. I was wearing shorts, and a T-shirt but in the Major League, you’re supposed to wear a suit. When I got there, they jokingly asked me what I was doing there. It was funny, and one of the best memories I have from that period.
What was Bobby Cox like? Bobby Cox is like a father to me. When I got to the Major League, I played for the Atlanta Braves for 12 years. He was the only manager I ever had, that treated me like a son, and always gave me the opportunity to keep on developing myself, and to help the team.
Well, over the past 10 years, baseball in Japan has made incredible improvements. A lot of Japanese players are finding their way into the Major Leagues, and are doing extremely well. But there is a difference; you could never say that it’s quite the same.
How do you experience life out of the spotlight?
A lot of the kids, who are starting out now, might have never seen me play baseball, but they might have heard of me. But the ones who did, who are all doing a great job out there, I am extremely proud of them all. There are a lot of them, but 4 for sure, Gregorius, Schoop, Simmons, and Jansen, who are all doing an amazing job in the Major Leagues. I hope that they will continue to do an amazing job, and that they continue to make the people of Curaçao proud, like I did.
It wasn’t easy at first, because you still want to keep on playing baseball. But then again, if I had kept on playing baseball, I would not have had the opportunity to do what I am doing now. At a certain point, you get used to it, and in my case, I started to travel. I had not been able to really travel since I was 15 years old till 3 years ago. When you’re playing baseball, you don’t really get a summer break. When everyone else is on vacation in the summer, I would be playing baseball, and now I have the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the world with my family. So now, when I wake up in the morning, I check my e-mails, and after that I make plans to go golfing, or to go swimming. Just enjoy life!
Pictures by A. Jones
What was your best memory playing for the Atlanta Braves?
What’s the biggest difference between MLB and playing baseball in Japan?
You are a big influence for the kids of Curaçao. What advice would you give young baseball players that want to make it big like you did?
