A good hot sauce will add both depth and flavor to your recipes. Make this authentic, hot Mexican rice for your next party and let your guest go loco with flavor.

Feeling Ingredients

Directions

1 Heat a large pan to medium heat and add olive oil.

2 Add onion and jalapeño peppers and cook about 5 minutes.

3 Add garlic and cook another minute.

4 Add the rice and stir, to very lightly brown the rice.

5 Add tomato sauce and broth.

6 Add corn, peas, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper, and IBERIA HOT SAUCE. Stir and bring to a quick boil.

7 Reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the rice has absorbed all of the liquid and is softened to your liking.

8 Remove from heat and get ready to go loco!

The experience of navigating across oceans as a captain and meeting other individuals introduced Daan van Koelen to the distributed ledger technology, blockchain. After being introduced to this technology, he did not see the reason why he should get involved and make adjustments while he already has an income. Even so, he remained interested and was curious to know more about how the blockchain technology works. He had to follow a few seminars to gain knowledge of the technology. While attending seminars, Daan quit his job and continued to visit individuals in Germany to deepen his understanding of blockchain and to fully be able to participate. Now, 95% of his current capital is all derived from the blockchain technology, a technology that can change our future.

Blockchain Blockchain is a digital ledger that publically records transactions done with cryptocurrency.

This technology can be used by companies, and as a result all the processes within a company will be accelerated. For instance, the blockchain technology can be used in hospitals. In seconds, doctors will be able to retrieve their patients’ data and their medical history faster, which reduces the amount of

time patients sit in a waiting room. It is simply a change of technology. Even the process of tracking down an individual’s location by police officers will be accelerated when using the blockchain technology. Employees will be able to work more efficiently with this system.

Cryptocurrency Cryptocurrency is a digital currency, which functions as a tradable entity that uses cryptography, a method that secures every transaction made through codes. It is a decentralized monetary system rather than a central banking system. The decentralized control of each cryptocurrency operates through blockchain, a distributed ledger. Every decision within this system is made by the community, because of the decentralized control of each cryptocurrency. “That is the beauty of the system.” Bitcoin is the most well-known cryptocurrency at the moment. “The advantage of paying with bitcoin is that it is so much faster than a bank transaction.”

You can create a wallet that is fully encrypted via an app, with which you “can make transactions in less than a minute, without limitations. You are your own bank.”

The blockchain technology is a public database, which makes people fear privacy invasion. Even though the blockchain technology is an open source, it can be restricted to third parties. “It is now an absolutely safe system.” According to Daan van Koelen, even our government can have its own restricted blockchain and its very own network within the blockchain. “The beauty of this system is that it is very transparent, so you can see exactly which transaction has taken place.” Daan believes that this gives the local people of Curaçao much more certainty.

To use the blockchain technology is simply a matter of reorganization. Daan van Koelen believes that acquiring more knowledge will help our community take the next step towards using the blockchain system. The intention behind this technology is not to get rid of the existing system, but to work together. Daan states that using this technology will lead to economic development here in Curaçao, which gives us the possibility to create our own cryptocurrency. “So, a digital currency can be created in addition to the guilder. This would be ideal.” In general, “it is a big step,” but it is a step worth taking towards an important development for our community.

Seminars In Curaçao, several groups, like the Bitcoin Meet Up, are immersed in bitcoin, and people are starting to approach businesses and introducing them to cryptocurrency hoping that they will also accept payments with bitcoins in the future. Daan van Koelen will be organizing seminars with speakers from the United States as of September 2018. These seminars will be organized to inform the community of Curaçao about the blockchain technology. - 1 red bell pepper (chopped) - ½ red onion stir fried (chopped) - Smoked chicken/beef, fish or tofu (chopped) - ½ Sliced avocado - Sliced roasted eggplant - 1 cup (cooked) quinoa

Directions Put the chopped ingredients in a bowl together with the sliced avocado and eggplant. Add the quinoa. Sprinkle your salad with the crunchy onions. With this salad, you don’t even need a dressing, but if you want, you can add a dash of olive oil and vinegar.
