RESIDENTIAL COLLEGES UCA brings living and learning together through a Residential College system that is unlike anywhere else in Arkansas. We’re the only four-year public university in the state to make this experience available to all incoming freshmen. Our five Residential Colleges allow you to take UCA Core classes where you live, which is a huge advantage on rainy days and early mornings. Each Residential College offers a supportive community of like-minded students and an atmosphere that results in higher grades and a greater likelihood of returning for the next semester. Your goal is to graduate, and these living and learning communities will help you reach that goal! Our student staff includes a resident coordinator, resident assistants, peer coaches and mentors who are trained to guide you through your first year. We also have faculty in residence: professors who live in the Residential College buildings with their families and pets.

Short for Health Promotion and Wellness, HPaW gives students planning future careers in the health and behavioral sciences a place to explore their options in the departments of communication sciences and disorders, exercise and sport science, family and consumer sciences, health sciences, military science and leadership, occupational therapy and physical therapy, psychology and counseling, and the School of Nursing.
Students are the stars when living and learning in The Stars. Live music in the lobby, poetry slams and theatre performances on the courtyard stage, art exhibitions and digital filmmaking, and writing and communication make the environment thick with creative energy. If you are seeking inspiration for the novel you plan to write or looking to start a lobby band, then this is the place for you!

Get to know UCA UCA is a four-year regional, public, comprehensive university located in Conway. H O W T O A P P LY Applying for housing at UCA is easy! Simply follow the steps listed below to apply for housing and pay the deposit. Be sure tp apply before Jan. 15 to participate in the room selection process.

When can I apply for housing? You can apply for housing after you have been officially admitted to the university.
How much is the deposit? All applications for housing must include a $100 deposit. The deposit is fully refundable if you cancel in writing by May 10. A 50% refund is available when you cancel in writing by July 10.
What’s a lease? The student housing lease is a nine-month academic year lease that outlines the terms and conditions of living in UCA Housing. If you choose to leave UCA Housing prior to the end of the lease, you forfeit your deposit and are subject to a $425 lease buyout fee.
When will I know my housing assignment? While this depends on when your application and deposit are received, we will post the first assignments on myUCA in May.
Do I have to live on campus? All freshmen are required to live on campus during their first academic year. You may fill out a Freshman Residency Exemption Request if you meet any of the following criteria: • You are 21 years old or older • You are married • You are currently enrolled in less than 12 credit hours • You have completed 21 credit hours (non-high school concurrent) • You are living with a parent or legal guardian and commuting to campus
What are the housing rates?
• You have previously lived in a residence hall for two semesters

Student Health
We provide you with a safe environment in which to live and learn. Residence hall exterior doors are locked 24/7, and you must be a building resident with card access to enter. Security cameras are located on all exterior doors of residence halls. Operation ID is a nationwide program that allows you to register items to help you easily recover property in the event of theft. Register your valuables online at ucapd.com. The UCA Police Department leads the way in creating a secure environment for students. Our 28 full-time sworn police officers provide around-the-clock law enforcement, public safety, emergency management and 911 call services to the UCA community. The department provides emergency notifications for weather or campus-related situations, motor assistance for dead batteries or keys locked in a car, and a security escort program to assist students across campus. Additionally, officers live on campus as part of the residential police program.
UCA has several health services to give students peace of mind. The Student Health Clinic (SHC) is staffed by a physician and nurse practitioners, all with prescriptive authority. They diagnose, treat and monitor the needs of their patients. In addition to general family practice services, the SHC offers lab and X-ray work, as well as immunizations and a variety of procedures. The Women’s Health Clinic meets the needs of our female population. In most cases, the cost is covered through tuition and fees. UCA promotes health education through our Wellness Center, counseling services and the HPER Center. Counseling services are accredited and include programs for college adjustment, test anxiety, relationship concerns and depression.

G E T T I N G I N V O LV E D Intramurals (residence hall division) The purpose of the Intramural sports program is to provide an opportunity for every student at UCA to participate in some type of competitive sports activity as regularly as the student’s interest, ability and time will permit. Intramural activities range from traditional sports such as flag football, basketball and slow-pitch softball to more nontraditional sports such as table tennis, badminton and track.
Resident Housing Association (RHA) The Resident Housing Association at UCA is a chapter of the world’s largest student-run organization. It is the voice for all students who live on campus. RHA facilitates campus-wide events that promote inclusiveness and fun. The organization offers leadership opportunities through regional, national and international conferences each year. RHA is about making new friends, getting involved on campus and gaining valuable resumé experience.
Beartegrity Beartegrity is an organization dedicated to the students of the UCA community. It strives to educate UCA residence halls and campus about issues of diversity and social justice through entertaining and thought-provoking programs.

CAMPUS AMENITIES UCA is home to one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation. Lush gardens adorned with seasonal flowers and billowing shade trees complement the Georgian-architectural style of campus buildings. On warm afternoons, students can be found studying, visiting with friends and listening to music around the beautiful fountain at Harding Centennial Plaza. The fountain and plaza area is one of Conway’s signature landmarks and is a popular location for campus events.
Torreyson Library Students who prefer a quiet place to study often turn to Torreyson Library, which is complete with computers, reference materials, group meeting rooms for student projects, 24hour study center and an on-site Starbucks.
Student Center The student center is located in the center of campus and is where you can go to enjoy activities such as movie nights, guest speakers and musical performances. It is also the home to the university bookstore, post office, convenience store, coffee shop, ATM, study lounges and food court. 34
Health and Fitness Students who like to stay active visit the Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Center. The HPER Center is a 115,000-square-foot recreation center with basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts, a track, pool, exercise class studios and a fitness center complete with a full slate of cardio and strength-training equipment. Students can also get in touch with nature and take a jog along the gravel trail through the Jewel Moore Nature Reserve, located just outside the HPER Center.
The Arts The Baum Gallery inside McCastlain Hall is an educational art museum that serves as a cultural resource for the state. The gallery participates in national and international touring exhibitions and programs and curates original exhibits. When world-class dance troupes, plays and musicians come to campus, they perform at Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall. UCA students receive free or discounted tickets to many of these performances.

ACCE S SI BI LITY Students with disabilities may need housing and/or dining accommodations due to the impact of their disability. The Disability Resource Center (DRC) collaborates with Housing and Residence Life to meet the on-campus housing needs of students with disabilities. Housing and dining accommodations must be reasonable, relate to the impact of the disability and address functional limitations. DRC, Housing and Residence Life and Dining Services work closely together to ensure accommodation needs are met for students with disabilities living on campus. In order to begin the process of requesting a housing/dining accommodation, the following procedures have been established:

Submit a new student registration online with the DRC office. When filling out the online registration, please be detailed in your request by completing the additional note or comment section at the bottom of the application. Please detail disability-related limitations and accommodations needed.

Obtain documentation from a qualified health or other provider in support of your requested accommodation. Documentation should include the diagnosed disability and functional limitations, along with recommended accommodations. Note: If the request is for an emotional support animal, see further details at uca.edu/disability.

Submit both the online application and documentation to the DRC. You can upload documentation to your registration application online. If you do not have documentation at the time of online application, you can email, fax, mail or drop it off in person to the DRC.
