Dear friends,
Iamwritingthisnotewithsomuchprideandgratitudeforwhattheteamat GirlsontheRunGreaterOregonaccomplishedthisyear!Wesawour highestturnouttodateintermsofthenumberofgirlswereached,coaches weengaged,andteamswesupported.Atatimewhengirlsareincreasingly lessphysicallyactiveandreportincreasingfeelingsofanxietyandisolation, itbringsmejoytoknowthat1,390girlsparticipatedinourprogramduring 2024/2025schoolyear.
Lastspringweadoptedanewcurriculumcalled“Hello,MountainMover!,” whichinspiresgirlstobuildtheconfidencetodohardthings,takeon challenges,believeinthemselves,andstrengthentheirresilience.Andwe arebringingtheselessonsbackintotheofficeaswefacechallengesofour own.Forthethirdyearinarow,wehaveseenincreasesinrequestsfor financialaidasfamiliesfaceincreasingfinancialinsecurities.Thisreality hasshiftedourfundingmodelsignificantlyaswemustrelylesson registrationrevenue.
Butweknowwecandohardthingsandweareupforthechallenge!Our staffandboardareworkingcreativelytoexpandourfundraisinginitiatives, reduceexpensesthroughin-kinddonationdrives,andworkwithourpartner organizationstotapintonewrevenuesources.Oneofourparticipantsthis springsharedthatshelearned,“Thatevenwhensomethinggetshard,you sticktoituntiltheendandtheresultsmakeyoureallyhappy!”Wecouldnot putitbetterourselves.
