Hello and Welcome To our 6th annual production sale. This year we are taking a big leap and venturing on our own. We invite you out Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 1:00 PM to Ressler Ranch. Come early to view the cattle and have lunch.

It seems redundant to comment on the hardships that everyone has experienced this year. The historically frigid winter temperatures and snowfall, the excessive spring and summer moisture and all the delays and breakdowns that came with it, and the wavering prices for both grain and cattle. Regardless of the struggles 2019 brought, I think of Jeremiah 29:11 when God says, “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” 2020 will be a new year, and I am praying for and have faith in a rebound in all aspects of our industry.

2019 was a year that has shown us just how capable our cattle are. It is years like this that we find our strength and resilience in ourselves as well. As we engaged in the past year’s contentions, we have genuinely found 2020’s offerings to be the result of not only our blood sweat and tears, but also our durable and resilient cows that have earned their right to be on our ranch. Our cows have worked just as hard, if not harder than us, to improve the offering presented to you this year.

Our herd has proven that they continue to pass on the longevity that is present in our breed stock, as well as the young stock making their debut. Our herd continues to demonstrate that we’re moving in the right direction.

We are excited to provide a mating no one else in the world can offer. We purchased a flush out of a phenomenal cow, Mohnen Jilt 539, and bred her to Ellingson Roughrider. The results were more bountiful than we prayed for. To say that these offspring are phenomenal is a massive understatement.

Let’s talk about the females. Each year we pick out our replacement females, and this year we struggled because we wanted to keep them all. We believe our registered heifer crop for sale exemplifies the females that we want in our herd and are the type and kind we can confidently provide for yours as well. 2020 is the year - our inaugural, independent sale, to also start the exciting tradition of offering registered females. Just like in previous years, we will also be offering a complete set of commercial heifers. The depth, muscling, and maternal background both the registered and commercial heifers contain are sure to provide your herd with a successful foundation. We can’t wait for you to benefit from the heifers in this offering.

Sale Order/Supplement Sheet: A sale order sheet will be available sale day along with a supplemental sheet with scrotal measurements, adjusted yearling weights, and ultrasound data.

Insurance: Bulls that are purchased sale day become the buyers’ responsibility as soon as they are sold. We recommend insuring the bulls on sale day if they are staying at the ranch. Dakota Ag Insurance will be available to assist you with mortality and infertility insurance. Dakota Ag Insurance: 605-990-5355 (office), 605-999-4475 (cell).

Feeding and Delivery: Bulls are kept free of charge until April 1, 2020. Free delivery is offered in North Dakota or up to 300 miles on bulls with delivery beyond at-cost. We will assist in any way possible to get your bull to you. Please leave the delivery instructions at settlement time.

Delivery on heifers is at the buyer’s cost.

Terms and Conditions: The terms of the sale are cash. Phone or mail bids are welcome and may be given to the auctioneer or any of the sale representatives. Live bidding will be available online at www.DVAuction.com. Please review the below information and register early to be an approved bidder before the sale. If you do not want to bid on the internet you can bid over the phone at 701-7977212 (Ryan Ressler), 701-797-7213 (Meghan Ressler), or in person at Ressler Ranch. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. Any bidding disputes will be settled by the auctioneer.

Any person attending the sale does so at their own risk. Neither the owners nor any person connected with this sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise. Cattle will sell according to the terms and conditions suggested by the American Angus Association.

Guarantee: Each bull sells with a first breeding season satisfaction guarantee and fertility/structural soundness warranty. “First Breeding Season” is defined as the 90 days following the first turnout of the bull(s). In the event that a bull becomes unsound due to structural flaws or becomes infertile, contact Ryan Ressler at 701-797-7212 to start a claim. The warranty does not apply to injuries, illness, neglect, or death of the bull. If there is a claim, a replacement bull of equal or higher value will be provided if available. If a replacement is not available, a credit minus salvage value will be issued, which may be used at a future Ressler Ranch sale. Under no circumstance will Ressler Ranch be liable for more than the net purchase of any bull. This guarantee ends at the end of the purchase year. Ressler Ranch recommends the purchase of livestock mortality insurance to mitigate this type of loss.

Breeding Guarantee: All bulls are guaranteed breeders and guaranteed healthy on sale day. All bulls will be semen tested before delivery. Bulls are guaranteed breeders their first breeding season. Pink eye and foot rot shots are available upon request when they are semen tested.

Semen Interest: Ressler Ranch will retain a one-third semen interest in all bulls sold.

Sale Dedication We would like to dedicate this first individual sale to Ryan’s parents for all the help and support they have given us over the last few years. We would not be where we are today if they had not instilled in us the passion for this industry. Randy grew up with black baldies and purchased his own cattle in 1969 from neighbors and Evy grew up with both dairy and beef cows. After Randy and Evy married, they switched to raising Angus cattle because there were less health issues, they were more docile, and largely due to the premiums they saw at the sale barn. Both Ryan’s parents have been instrumental in the success of our operation. In addition to being such a large part of our ranch’s growth, they also continue to supply a portion of the commercial heifer offering in the sales.
