Liability: The owners, sale management or sale barn owners assume no responsibility for accidents, injury or stolen property. All buyers attend the sale at their own risk. The sellers are not responsible for any accident or injury to the animal after it is sold.

Bidding Disputes: The auctioneer will settle any bidding disputes and his ruling is final.

Care Program: We are more than happy to take the bulls home for you and keep them free of charge until April 15th, we will then semen test and deliver to your place within a reasonable distance. However if you opt to take your bull home with you sale day we will give you a discount of $50.

Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as it is declared sold.

Breeding Guarantee: All bulls are guaranteed to be breeders. It will be the responsibility of the purchaser to have these bulls semen tested before they are turned out with cows or before 15 months of age, whichever comes first. If they are semen checked under these terms, and found to be non-breeders, exercising options for adjustments apply.

Retained Ownership: Sellers retain 1/4 semen revenue sharing interest in all bulls. Purchaser will own 100% of the possession of the animal and salvage value of the animal. Any announcements from the block will take precedence to printed material.

Volume Discount: Buy 3 or more bulls receive a 5% discount.

Exercising Options for Adjustments: 1. The purchaser must notify the seller of their dissatisfaction for that particular animal in writing within six (6) months of the sale date.

2. In the event the animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the purchaser may return the animal to the seller’s farm at the purchasers expense, if the animal is in good condition. The seller is then entitled to a three (3) month trial following return of the animal at which time he will have the opportunity to determine the animals breeding ability. If at the end of three (3) months the animal is found to be a non-breeder, the seller shall have the option to replace the animal with another of similar quality or to refund the purchase price.

Welcome to the 2019 Profit Through Performance Bull Sale Sunday, March 3rd marks a first for us. New for 2019 the sale will be held at Windy Creek Cattle Co., northeast of Spencer, SD. While we have appreciated the hospitality in Aberdeen, we are excited to welcome you to the farm. All bulls were weaned and started at their home ranches and were brought together, here in Spencer, mid-October when they were placed on test.

What matters to you, matters to us. Each year we continue to move toward meeting the diverse goals of our customers. As an introduction to each breed in the catalog, we describe how we are reaching these goals. Without doubt, you expect these bulls to do a lot of different things with regards to production. Whether you desire high-performance feeder cattle or high-value finished cattle or even great mothers, we have a bull to meet your needs. Performance matters. Quality matters. Ultimately, your success matters. If you are interested, we have created an index this year that can help sort the bulls genetically to best fit for how you market your cattle. Simmental We are really excited about the Simmental offering provided for your evaluation this year. As always, we pride ourselves on raising performance Simmental genetics. You will notice we do not use an overabundance of sires; we like to keep things consistent to provide a better read of how the cattle perform. Our main goal is still to produce functional cattle that can work in different types of operations. Many of the bulls in the offering are backed by our foundation females- meaning those cows have been consistent enough for us to build around. We utilize whole herd reporting with the American Simmental Association along with 50K enhanced genomic testing for better EPD accuracy as well as coat color and polled status. Bulls will have had their first round of breeding shots prior to the sale and if you opt to have us deliver at a later date, they will be completely vaccinated. The Data Because every operation has different management schemes and environmental challenges, we feel the most effective way to compare the performance of cattle is through accurately measuring desired traits, turning that data into the association, and select for the EPD we are trying to influence. EPDs are a means of comparing individuals.

The weaning weights reported in this catalog on all the Melroe and Windy Creek bulls has been turned in to their respective associations where they are adjusted to a common 205 days of age.
