Dear Friends and Beef Cattlemen, Welcome to our First Production Sale. What a year this has been. If you’re like me, 2021 can’t come soon enough. We have faced a lot of challenges this year, COVID, oil prices, the economy, and to top it all off, we have an election that seems to be one of the more divisive contests in recent memory. One thing though is certain, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. We can put our eyes on him and trust that HE is in control!

We will be offering 54 bulls, ranging from yearlings to 2-year olds. This isn’t a multi-herd or consignment sale. These bulls have been raised on flint rocks, bermuda and fescue. They’ve not been pampered; they’re required to get up and down the hills and hollows every day. We’ve developed them Stephen, Michal, Lilly slowly, on a high roughage ration, that has prepared them to get out and go and Madeline Mellott to work when you get them home. All our bulls have been ranch raised, here in Oklahoma, selected and developed for this sale.

We are equally proud of this female offering. As we went through and selected the females, I made it a point to select cows, heifers and splits that I would want to buy if I were attending a sale. It’s going to be hard to see some of these cows go. We spend a lot of time with these animals and it’s easy to get attached to them.

1802 is a proven calving-ease herd bull. He was asked at 15 months to cover all the young cows and virgin heifers in the spring of 2019 and did a tremendous job. This young bull sired and extremely high quality calf crop as you will see later it the offering His daughter, Lot 225A, is a brood cow prospect deluxe. His paternal grandmother is a full sib in blood to New Standard’s mother and the legendary Germaine family shows up on the bottom side. Great cows make herd bulls and that’s why he was used so much. This bull wouldn’t be for sale if there was a place on the herd bull roster and if we hadn’t retained so many of his high quality daughters.

What more do you want? This moderate, thick herd bull is sired by the maternal legend Design and his dam is the power donor Bravo Bell 467. This bull was one of the two herd sires that covered all the two- and three-year-old females in the spring of 2020. There were too many for one yearling so the two best bulls at the time were selected to get them bred, plus we wanted more influence of 467 in the herd. You have to admire this bulls individual performance and his EPD profile. If you’re looking for a blend of old and new genetics he’s your bull.

This is a young Multiple Trait herd bull prospect and quite possibly could be the best herd bull prospect in the sale. His little brother will get a good long hard look as he develops and could walk the pastures at Fox Hollow. The Bells X New Standard cross is the definition of multiple trait cattle and it’s the golden cross that does not miss. This bull will set you up with an EPD profile and provide a look. Purebred breeders study your lesson, you will not find a better herd bull prospect. I feel as confident that this bull will be successful as the day I bid more than $100,000 on his dad.

This is a Cowboy’s bull. He is all business—what you see is what you get. Herd bull prospects like this one are all business and ready to go to work. He combines two of the top lines at the legendary M6 operation in the Germaine family and Bells’ mother. Throw in a touch of Southern with the Kentake cow and he is loaded with good cows in his pedigree. This very complete prospect could fill a role for a variety of operations. His completeness and sound structure make him a very interesting prospect. He could make some great females; halfbloods or purebreds.

The last member of “The Six” is no slouch. He is an excellent herd bull prospect in his own right. This bull is a powerful dude with a great EPD profile that traces to the Elvira 162J cow family. He has been a standout since he was a calf and just continues to get better with age.

This is the first Standard Resource son listed in the offering and his sire made a difference here. I would bet on this prospect because there is a lot of good with this bull. Make yourself look smart and own this prospect.

E13 is good. She is out of M6 6106, a full sister to 6100, that deserves a lot of recognition in her own right. The sisters distinguished themselves in different ways. This is another daughter of the famed 6106 cow and she is a good one as well. More performance-oriented than her Ledger half sister and a little bigger in her kind. She is a little green at this stage, but once you see her heifer calf you will understand why.
