It’s My Winning Season Exclusive Story

My name is Danielle P. Jeter, born in Philadelphia to Diane Sanders & Emerson Jeter and raised in both Philly & South Jersey. I am the youngest child and only girl. I have three older brothers; Brian, Aaron, & Chad Jeter. I am a Entrepreneur, Theatre ArDst, and Civic Leader. My journey and story started with dance, theatre arts, & performance. I oIen say, I am a village child because I have a large community of wise leaders around me who truly have my best interest at heart. At 6 years old I met an amazing woman named Denise Jackson, she was the Director of Dorothy Emanuel RecreaDon Center. I didn’t know as a liOle girl but what Mrs. Denise did for me would be considered mentorship today. Mentors who are there for me personally, professionally, and invest in me selflessly; considering mentors then and mentors now. She introduced me to dance and taught me about performance and West African Dance. I became great friends with Mrs. Denise and she had two kids of her own my age so we became a family. I spent a lot of Dme with the family in Mt. Airy and started aOending Brand New Life ChrisDan Center. At the Dme, my parents both worked Sundays and I remained at home with my siblings before I began aOending church with the Jackson family. Being introduced to God and Kingdom Building thru the arts is truly what my life has been about ever since. I will always dedicate myself and Dme to spread the message of Love to the people, which is God. God is love.

It’s My Winning Season! #1 By the Dme I was 15 years old and realized I was interested in aOending college to further my educaDon, I was living in South Jersey and aOending Willingboro High School. My training in dance conDnued and I had begin to perfect ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop, lyrical, and African dance. And if all worked out well, I would be the first of my siblings to aOend a tradiDonal (4) year insDtuDon. My exposure to collegiate life was very limited including HBCUs, greek life, and the enDre experience. In fact, I was not fully exposed to watched the movie Drumline

the world of HBCUs unDl I for the very first Dme I

Drumline helped me realize I

wanted to aOend a HBCU

to perform & dance in the

place you could pursue an

opportunity like that so

my curious began to grow

larger! In 11th grade, I

found a HBCU College Tour to

aOend during Spring

allowed me to aOend. We

travelled by bus all the way

from New Jersey down to

Atlanta, GA stopping at all of for campus visits. I got to see

and only choice for college

because I wanted to

aOend the best opDon that I

could as a young black

woman. Spelman College is the #1 HBCU is the world and was founded to specifically educate black women, you can not get any beOer than this. My quest to be admiOed into one of the most compeDDve programs in the country began. I was determined and would not stop unDl my dreams came true. I can recall my faith at 15 years old being so strong that there was nothing or no one who was going to stop me from doing what I believed I could do. I began to networking with Spelman College, build connecDons, aOend Spelman events in the NJ area, and work very hard on my applicaDon process. When it was Dme to apply a group of maybe 13 girls from my high school applied to Spelman College; a very difficult school to get into. By divine order and favor, I was the only student in the class of 2010 to be admiOed to Spelman College! This was the beginning of my winning season. While I know for sure I was not the smartest, most advanced, or high achieving student out of the group who applied to Spelman College. It was God’s divine purpose to have me admiOed and aOend the #1 HBCU in the world, Spelman College! 8

It’s My Winning Season! #2 Fast forward three years I was 20 years old and 13 hours away from home when I started my first business. Spelman College exposed me to an enDre new global world, a variety of perspecDves, and new experiences. I had began to form this vision for my life that I wholeheartedly believed was obtainable; a highly desirable, respectable, successful woman who would change the world on God’s terms and my own terms. I founded AOI Events & PR in 2009, a full service creaDve communicaDons firm headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, which specializes in event producDon, public relaDons, strategic planning, and digital markeDng represenDng clients naDonwide. My enDre resume has been built off of the relaDonships I have. All of the posiDons on my resume, I technically did not qualify for but because I had a relaDonship with someone who inherently had faith in me, I made it into the door with God’s grace. RelaDonships are a key component to my success and has allowed me to move my career forward on this very unconvenDonal path. AOI is a TM cultural brand based off the value and importance of relaDonships. It is thru solid and posiDve relaDonships, I formed a business at 20 years old with no formal training in what I provide, and no E V E N T S & P U B L I C R E L AT I O N S real start up capital to get me going. It was good relaDonships with people who believed in me, that helped me successfully launch the company as a student at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. It is those same principles of building meaningful relaDonships, that has allowed my firm to successfully deliver outstanding communicaDons campaigns used to achieve overall organizaDonal goals for each of our clients. Not even 30 years old, I have been able to do business with so many amazing and familiar brands including The Jordan Brand, Comcast, Wells Fargo, The Philadelphia Phillies, The Mayor of Philadelphia, The Governor of Pennsylvania, Forbes, iHeartMedia, Radio One, Independence Blue Cross, New York Life Insurance, WHYY, The Newseum, and The Knight FoundaDon just to name a few. And as I conDnue to walk in my winning season, I believe that God is saying “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man. The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

It’s My Winning Season #3 By the grace of God, I will have the opportunity to move as a dancer for the rest of my life, that is my true passion. Through my love of performing arts, I was introduced to the world of communicaDons and for the past 11 years, I have been working in the media & communicaDons industry as a professional. It is amazing to see how and what God can do with a willing vessel and a surrendered soul. My company AOI Events & PR is nine years old and I am not even thirty years old yet. I am currently running a business not related to what I went to college for. My major at Spelman College was Theatre Arts with a concentraDon in Dance and a double major in History with an American/African American track. I surrendered my will to God’s and prayed “Lord order my steps divinely. Open the doors for me that are for me and close the doors that are not. And whatever you decide I will be ok with. Amen!” I thought I would be a History Teacher but God said not quite daughter. The blessings for my business have flowed from the moment we launched in Atlanta, GA October 2009 unDl this very moment. By being obedient and sacrificing, together so many people have been blessed and impacted by our work including thousands of people with educaDonal, career, and exposure opportuniDes. AOI’s ongoing signature Internship & Mentoring Program called Pipeline, has had over 35 high school and college students since 2009 successfully complete the curriculum for hands on experience in communicaDons and business. As an award-winning, acclaimed, sought aIer social innovator, business, and civic leader, I help build naDonal brands with her strategic approach and creaDve soluDons. Outside of my work as a CommunicaDons Specialist, I am passionate about kingdom building, women’s empowerment, arts & culture, educa>on, & legacy building.

I am the Founder & President of the Women in Media Global (WIM Global). Officially launched in the spring of 2013, our mission is to empower, equip and encourage women from all walks of life who are either in the media field or who seek to enter it. Women In Media is a Global Network of professionals who collaborate together to empower women to own their voices. This organizaDon was founded as a response for the need of more upper leadership from women at media brands and to conDnue to challenge women to pursue every area of media from ownership, management, leadership, operaDons, and in front of the camera talent so the narraDve and treatment of women in this industry will change. Our goal is to increase diversity and build unity within the industry. As result of this, WIM has produced a well-respected and highly anDcipated annual conference for women of all backgrounds, generaDons and professional levels. We propel women to be industry leaders within media with a holisDc approach invesDng in her mind, body, spirit, and soul. Over the past five years, the conference has consistently sold out, serving a total of over 1.5K women in media in the tri-state area. Annually in September WIM, products a professional development conference which equips and encourages hundreds of women to be forefront leaders in the industry of media. The 6th Annual Women In Media Conference takes place Saturday Sept. 15th & Sunday Sept. 16th at the InternaDonal House 3701 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19104. From a young age I learned “The LORD is my light and my salvaDon-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalms 21:1. Being raised in a household where God is the center of our lives, that taught me that there’s a greater being bigger than life itself that protects me. No man can cause harm or danger to me because God is with me. Being spiritually rooted taught me that the greater success belonged to God because he is the leader and author of my desDny. So for every success story you may read about me in this arDcle or believe, understand I give it all back to God for I am merely a willing vessel being used to further the mission of Jesus Christ. I will never be able to reach my fullest potenDal without him so I hold on Dght to that truth. That type of faith allows you to be fearless. Growing up in the arts and performance since the age of 6 years helped to develop my character and confidence. It takes a great deal of confidence and willpower to get in front of a group and arDsDcally express yourself. Through performance, I was able to pracDce what I was taught at home and church about being fearless. The confidence and fearless strength, I gained through arts and spirituality allows me to hold my head high today. You need confidence in order to be successful. If anything, you have to believe in your own abiliDes, giIs, and visions; even when others may not believe the same.

UNLOCKING YOUR WINNING SEASON EVANGELIST JENNIFER MARLOWE Being the skeptic that I am, I knew that God would have to send a word to me personally, so when the Pastor walked over to prophesy to me at this Tuesday night revival service, I was like, ok God I’m listening... I’ve been reading, hearing and listening to declarations of women and men of God saying, its an “Open Heaven Season”. I did not want to follow the masses, just going with a slogan, but to make sure it’s what God is literally saying. What does this mean in a time and decade like this?.. Messages and sermons are being given, but I need clarification and understanding.... There had been other catchy phrases before, and like many others, I had jumped on the band wagon and rode that train until the wheels fell off. Phrases like, “Name it and claim it”, “Money cometh”, “Waiting on my Boaz”, and a few more, but I never took the time to ask God, is this my season? I didn’t need other peoples interpretation, I needed the right revelation, so I had to seek God though fasting, praying, and studying the word of God. The Bible tells us that the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth knowledge and understanding ( Proverbs 2:6) I’m going to the spiritual well to draw from. He tells me that the open heaven is a cause and effect, meaning there are some requirements to be under God’s open heaven; obedience, humility, living righteously, and being in compliance with His word. In Matthew 3:13-17, Jesus did all the above for the heaven to open, and he even got a bonus, he heard the father’s voice. The season determines how our/my walk is with God. Am I sowing righteousness? Are there spiritual weeds in my heart and mind? Am I living according to the word of God, not to gain personal profit, but to advance the Kingdom of God? 21

GOSPEL 4 U MAGAZINE

SPRING/SUMMER 2018

Am I walking in humility? Does my character reflect God’s character? And yes, I could add another requirement, Malachi 3:10. If I tithed the window of heaven will open and there will be sufficiency, my needs will always be supplied. So I’m thinking here, the open heaven was always there, it was only for us (You and I) to get under it. Now that I have met all the requirements, The Lord has sent his servant, the Prophet to inform me that I need to get my store-basket and get under the OPEN HEAVEN!!!

CALL (954) 934-7249 Joy Is Coming

“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5, NKJV)

I’ve had some good days, some bad days, and most of my nights have been rough. My pillow told me to stop wetting it, and my bathroom told me to find somewhere else to vent my displeasure and frustration. But through it all Jesus held me close. He kept telling me that “Though I’m weeping now, my joy is coming in the morning (Psalm 30:5).” A few mornings have come, and many more are yet to come. Thank You, Jesus! Faith is the radar that sees through the fog…Morning by Morning, new mercies I see.

THERE IS A WINNER IN YOU Dr. Ingrid Reid

The race I run is for the Win, because the ‘Race is not for the swift, nor the battle for the strong; but he that endure to the end’ I struggle a lot with many things; but I never give in to my struggles.I serve a God that fights my battles, who gives me the strength to finish my race ahead of my competitors. Even when I’m tired, I keep pushing and pressing, because ‘I press toward the prize of the high calling of God, according to Phil. 3:14 (MSG)“I press on toward the goal to win the heavenly prize of upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.” I am a Warrior, I am a Conqueror, I am a Winner, and because Christ loves me, I boast freely in that, because Romans 8:37 (AMP) declares “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain overwhelming victory through Him who loves us-so much that He died for us”

GOSPEL 4 U MAGAZINE

SPRING/SUMMER 2018

We all have struggles, we all struggle with our struggles, but are we all winners? Yes! We are all winners and we don’t fight our own battles. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of God lift up a standard against him. Let me remind you, we wrestle not against flesh and blood; but regardless of who or what our enemies are, God is the one who fight our battles. God is not going to leave us unprotected, He’s not expecting us to fight for ourselves, He doesn’t need our help…we need His help. Remember what Deuteronomy 20:4 said “For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” We are overcomer…we overcome our struggles, we overcome our trials, we overcome the world…don’t ever doubt that, because we are born of God according to 1 John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” There was a winner in Moses…he stretched his rod, and the Red Sea parted. There was a winner Daniel…he survived in the Lion’s Den. There was a winner in Job…the Lord restored to him, twice as much as he lost. There was a winner in Esther…she found favor with King Xerxes, he held out his Golden Scepter to her. I could mention many more winners of the Bible; but why? When I could mention you, yes! You, there is a Winner in You.

Take the Mask off To Win LADY VERONICA DIXON I met a young girl years ago that I was very familiar with wearing a mask. This young girl would wear the best smile, and even got herself into a schedule where she always had something going on but none of it seemed to make her happy. This young girl was known for her so called confidence and full social life, no one knew this young girl was insecure and alone. This young girl matured in age, but seem to be stuck. This young girl had so many different color masks, each one represented where she went. She would wake up early in the morning and say “which one will I wear today?” You might ask who is this young girl? This young girl is me. Yes! this young girl is now a Pastor wife, mother, friend and she still deals with times where she wants to place the mask on for protection. Do you ever find yourself feeling like this young girl? Do you catch yourself wondering how people would react if you were to expose your true self? As someone that lived that life for so long I understand the pressures that perfection places on you. I had a desire to be free from the mask, and the opinions of others. I had come to the realization that there was a price to pay for this mask I was wearing. I had to come to an understanding that my masks prevented me from experiencing authenticity. It prevented me from experiencing what love really felt like. Not, the love human’s offer, but the love the Savior could give. The masks that I wore in church, work, school, with friends prevented me from experiencing intimacy in relationships. I had to let go of the desire to want to be noticed or be validated from people.

When I came to know Christ as my personal Savior and began to walk with Him. I remember opening my bible and going to 2 Corinthians 3:18 “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord who is the Spirit makes us more and more like Him as we are changing into His glorious image” when I read this I began to cry. I began to realize that the very thing I was running from is what He was trying to use. I had to understand that there is a danger in wearing different mask because it misrepresents God creation. He said to me “Daughter allow me to remove the mask it is not who are you, and who you were born to be. I love you just the way you are, and my love for you will never diminish.” I encourage anyone that reads this that you understand that there is” Authenticity” in your scars, weakness, He wants to unveil you so you can reflect His glory. Trust Him enough to take off your mask and look into the mirror of His Word. You will find as I have that you are being changed, into the image of our Savior Jesus Christ. Now it is time to take off your mask, understand that you cannot do on your own; it is the work of the Holy Spirit in you that will provide you the strength and guidance to take it off. Today even though there are times where I struggle, I know that God loves me the way I am. I know that I am called to seek God first in all things, and reject the lie that anything or anyone else can satisfy me like He does. I now know that “Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. ~ Proverbs 31:30. The only thing I want to leave with you is when God shows you who you are to Him, stay humble. Be aware of the spirit of pride and selfishness. I challenge you don’t think less of yourself but think of yourself less.” Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5 Love always. Lady Evangelist Veronica Dixon.

WINNING EXCHANGE DEACONESS CORRIE LINGENFELTER

Some of us have been so conditioned to losing that we forgot what winning feels like. I remember feeling this way a couple of months ago. Everything was going so great, family was restored, relationships were coming together great, I was winning on my job, in school and in ministry. I also felt like something was wrong, almost as if I didn’t deserve to win because I had been claiming defeat for so long. See, I had always had to fight the demons of my past that would make me feel unworthy because I slept with too many people, or because at 17 I was a pregnant pastors kid who was running from the calling on my life, or even the fact that the only man I loved left after 7 years and started a new family. Can anyone relate? We all have those demons of low self- esteem or insecurities that creep in right around times that we should just raise our hands and thank God for doing what only he was able to do. Why is it then that instead of doing that we will try to sabotage the very thing God has handed us as a blessing and turn it into a curse? For me it was because I felt like how can God love me so much to keep blessing me at the most unworthy times in my life? It was a perception issue. It was a heart issue. Sometimes it was even a mind issue. I had to get to a point where my perception of me being a loser was not what God has called me to be. I had to use his word when it reminds me I am fearfully and wonderfully made in Christ’s image. That I am the righteousness of God and I will never be forsaken. See when I began to see myself as God saw me, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. ( Psalm 139:14).

SPRING/SUMMER 2018

My life changed, I not only accepted the winning season I was in but I began to see that I am worthy to be a child of God and I will inherit what I am supposed to have in God’s perfect timing. I want to encourage the one reading this that you might feel like you’re so used to losing that winning doesn’t even seem legit, or the ones who feel as though the winning season came out of nowhere and in your mind you are waiting for something to fail. LISTEN! God has ordained this season in your life before he even created you! That sentence alone wrecks me every time I think about the goodness of God. He knew I’d feel unworthy of the blessings but HE did it anyway! That is how deep the father’s love for us it. So, I urge you today to leave your mindset of loss and exchange it for a declaration of I AM A WINNER! Remember, I love you, God loves you so Stay Encouraged!
