St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy

To our many friends and benefactors:

Praise the Lord! We are 3 houses away from completion of the GOSPA Village Project! Increased prices of construction, building supplies, furniture and appliances have risen sharply as well as the increased operating cost of running our existing Village. We know that with the grace of God and all of us working together we can make it to the inish line before too long. Last year many people informed us that they were still a bit hesitant to attend a large indoor event. Sensitive to that fact we worked with the GOSPA Gala Committee to come up with a plan that would be both virtual and live. We were grateful that we were able to meet the needs of everyone who wanted to support GOSPA Village in a way that was most comfortable for them. The 2022 GOSPA Gala ended up being very successful, and as always we would like to thank God for His abundant goodness, generosity and love. Without his grace, none of this would be possible. He alone is the source of all good and we know He is blessing this Event just as He continues to bless our Gospa Village ministry. May the name of Jesus be praised and blessed forever.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend a very sincere thank you to some very special and caring people. We start by thanking Debra Kilgore and all of the beautiful women and men that our Blessed Mother has called together to form the GOSPA Gala Committee. We know that Mary must be so pleased with what her children have accomplished. Without their commitment this event would not be taking place. We thank each and every Sponsor, Advertiser and Donor. Their generous response to our call for supporting GOSPA Village is so greatly appreciated and truly amazing! And we thank ALL OF YOU! Please know that you and your families are in our hearts and prayers every day. May God bless you all in special and wonderful ways and may the warmth of His gentle and merciful love always enfold you in his loving arms. —Amy Betros (Co-Founder and Director of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy)

Gospa Village Dear Friends and Supporters of the Gospa Village Project, Welcome to our Sixteenth Gospa Gala!

To quote Saint Mother Teresa, “At the end of our lives we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made or how many great things we have done. We will be judged by: I was hungry and you gave me to eat. I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless and you took me in.” This year we ind ourselves coming together again to raise enough funds to build another home in our beautiful Village of hope and love.

We continue to be blessed and thankful for the generous support of all our family and friends, our two Gold Sponsors, John & Kathy Wabick, and Seas Star Foods, our Silver Sponsor, Frank & Maria Stucke and all of our many Sponsors, Advertisers, and Donors. They get on board each and every year to help with our efforts and inspire us to keep the momentum going in the knowledge that in Christ we can do all things. Thank you to all the men and women who serve on the Gospa Village Committee. They not only show up but are always devoted and ready to work. They believe in the cause and are passionate to see the Village completed. They are the heart and soul of every Gospa event. To every person who has decided to join us this evening, I wish you peace, joy and love. None of our works are possible without your support. Please know that when you leave here tonight you have played a huge part in helping to feed, clothe and shelter many Mothers and children in need. Thank you for participating and sharing in the Works! Love and God Bless, Debra Kilgore

Auction Rules and Information

TICKET AUCTION – Closes at 8:00 pm

Ticket sheets sell for $20 or three for $50. Each sheet contains 20-25 small individual tickets, a door prize ticket and master ticket. You must retain the master ticket to claim winning item. Each sheet contains a Door Prize ticket for the drawing of a catered dinner for 20 by Chef’s Restaurant. Deposit Door Prize tickets in the red containers provided at the auction room ticket-selling table. Winning ticket to be drawn during dessert. Winning tickets will be drawn and delivered to your table throughout the evening. You must present your Master Ticket to runner to receive item. (If you have misplaced this ticket you can see Pat Rozler in the auction room to look up your name and corresponding number at the conclusion of the auction.) Winners need not be present and arrangements for pickup will be made by the Auction Chair.

SILENT AUCTION – Closes at 8:30 pm

At registration you will be provided with a program. The back of the program has a number on it. This is your exclusive bid number for use in both Silent and Live Auctions. When placing your bid on the bid sheet located by the item, please note the following: Each item has a designated Opening Bid with specific Bid Increments as well as a Guaranteed Bid.

Opening Bid:

The first bid amount has been designated for each item. To start bidding on an item you may simply place your bid number next to this amount or you may choose to start the bid at a higher amount of your choosing. All bids following the Opening Bid amount must be in or exceed increments listed.

Bid Increments:

All bids must be made in the designated increments. If an item has a bid at $50 and bid increments are listed at $10, the next bid must be or exceed $60. You may exceed the $10 increment and place a bid at $65 or more. Each successive bid must be $10 or higher. Bids lower than the assigned increment will not be honored.

Guaranteed Bid Amount:

Each item is assigned a Guaranteed Bid amount. This amount provides the opportunity to be the secured winner of an item and avoid having to monitor where the current bid stands. Once a bid number has been written in as the Guaranteed Bid amount, the auction closes on this item and the bidder is the winner of the item. Sheets containing the names and number of the winners will be delivered to each table during the Live Auction. Venmo payment accepted upon winning bid confirmation with both Silent/ Live Auctions. Cashier payments only accepted at the end of the evening’s program.

LIVE AUCTION – Conducted at the conclusion of evening’s program

The Live Auction will commence immediately following the Guest Speaker and announcement of the diamond ticket winner. Spotters will be placed throughout the dining rooms. To place a bid you must raise your bid number when each new bid amount is announced by the auctioneers. Hold your bid number in the air until the auctioneer has acknowledged you and your bid. If you are the final winning Bidder, please hold your number high until the auctioneer has acknowledged you by announcing your bid number. You will then receive a yellow slip containing the name of the item, your bid number and final bid price. Please provide this slip to cashier at the conclusion of the auction. Our auctioneer will do his best to see and acknowledge all bids as they are placed. Feel free to signal a spotter if you feel the auctioneer is having difficulty spotting you. You may also signal and request that a spotter stand near your seat prior to the start of bidding on an item in which you are interested. Cashier will be located in the Auction Room. We accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Venmo. We do not accept Discover. Checks may be made payable to GOSPA VILLAGE, INC. Arrangements for pickup of extremely large items only may be made at time of Checkout. Please be patient. Items cannot be picked up until the conclusion of the Live Auction.

Supporting Our Lady of Hope Home School

In creating this book, the authors collaborated with the children of Our Lady of Hope Home School in Buffalo to find out what in nature they are grateful for. “Children, in their innocence, see the world full of wonder and awe, as we all should. Our hope and dream is to bring this miraculous feeling alive as we walk the Earth each day. In the ordinary, we find the extraordinary, if only we take the time to notice it, just as our children do.” — Authors Natalie Hoerner and Lisa Nowakowski

To purchase, please contact: Natalie Hoerner Natalie@gifts-of-gratitude.com $20/book All proceeds from the sale of the book go directly to the school.

Set an intention each day for 26 days, to find something you’re grateful for that corresponds with each letter of the alphabet. Spend quality time with your child(ren) looking and exploring throughout your day. At the end of the day, write together in the pages you’ll find at the end of the book.

The Holy Face Ministry is a ministry founded on the message of Divine Mercy contained in Holy Scripture and revealed to St. Faustina Kowalska. Our members strive to live this message by trusting in Jesus and showing mercy to others. In the Holy Face of Jesus, we see His unfathomable love and mercy for us. Through Corporal and Spiritual works of mercy, our mission is to reach out to others by word, deed, and prayer as we encourage them to trust in God’s merciful love. We pray with and for the suffering, sick and the dying and for the Holy Souls in purgatory. We also focus on spreading the message of Divine Mercy and growth in holiness through our Days of Reflection. We strive to do all this through the virtues of humility and obedience, offering everything for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls.

If the work is looked at just by our own eyes and only from our own way,

naturally, we ourselves we can do nothing. But in Christ we can do all things. That’s why this work has become possible, because we are convinced that it

is He, He who is working with us and through us in the poor and for the poor. —Saint Mother Teresa
