Merging

Have we become one, not two? Has time homogenized, blended, made us mostly indistinguishable? Are we affixed or separate? Is it our fate, inevitable after so much time, not a matter of choice? We used to be so distinct, clearly separate, very different. I liked that. Do the years force such accommodation? Do the currents of judgment, personality, opinion, preferences, after time flow together to create transmutation into the singular? Has it really happened, or is this just my lively, critical imagination?
