Unhappiness

They shared unhappiness. His was partly her fault, and partly his. Her unhappiness came from someplace deep inside, hidden, always there, unresolvable. They were increasingly indifferent, impatient with each other, distant, apart, two not one. He knew he had a decision to make, but was uncertain what exactly it was. He never seemed to know what was expected of him. But he knew he was at the end, needing a new start, a life with hope. He felt he deserved happiness.
