Riangelo Esclodina is a 24-yearold individual and the owner of Kòrswill. From a young age, Riangelo had a vision for his greatest endeavor, which he aptly named Kòrswill. Kòrswill is derived from the phrase "Kòrsou will......" At the age of 16, Riangelo ventured into the world of selling sneakers within his school, though the name Kòrswill was not yet known. As an aspiring entrepreneur, he actively sought ways to distinguish himself within the sneaker industry, ultimately leading to the concept of customizing sneakers.
What prompted you to start a company at such a young age?
I view the company as I would view a university As many entrepreneurs say, with experience, you will learn and grow. Instead of waiting until I was older to start my own business, I decided to begin at a young age to gain experience and grow. I wanted to acquire that experience while being young. I thought I was prepared for it, but I was not However, I knew it would not be easy
Where did the name Kòrswill come from, and what does it mean to you?
I got the saying from my grandmother while growing up. She would always emphasize the importance of being positive.
What are the highlights and struggles you have experienced in managing your business?
One of the struggles is attracting young potential clients. We belong to a generation that believes wearing big brand names and owning shoes from famous sneaker stores is necessary to be considered cool, so Kòrswill is often overlooked by them. Therefore, I have to gradually convince them to consider Kòrswill. That's why my marketing is now targeted towards them, utilizing their language and frequently used slang in my videos They want to feel a sense of equality Traditional marketing methods taught in school do not work for them. Another struggle is the significant drop in sales after the Carnival season. On a brighter note, one of the highlights is that more people know about Kòrswill than I would ever imagine I initially thought I would have to work harder because people were unaware of Kòrswill, but every day I gain new clients who have already known about me for a long time. Additionally, the positive response we received when we expanded beyond selling sneakers and introduced more products, such as sunglasses, was remarkable
Tell us about your journey before becoming an entrepreneur.
Prior to this, I was involved in singing and acting. I am part of the group Sablika, and I conducted interviews on television programs like Hóben Positivo TV. It was then that I discovered my passion for sneakers, so I started selling them at my high school, St Jozef VSBO Later, I noticed that customizing sneakers was becoming a trend in the US. I realized it wasn't being done here in Curaçao, so I decided to turn it into a business since I was already selling sneakers.
What makes you proud to have your own company and be an entrepreneur?
I take pride in the constant novelty, and in my work at VANEPS while also successfully managing my own business. I am also proud that I believed in myself and that I am implementing the lessons I have learned from my elders.
What is the vision for the future of Kòrswill?
The vision is to reach those who cannot physically reach us. This will be achieved through our soon-to-be-launched website, Korswill com It will enable people abroad to order pieces from Kòrswill as well.
As an entrepreneur, what do your supporters mean to you?
There's just one word: they are my heroes. I may be the brain behind Kòrswill, but my supporters and colleagues are the ones who carry the brand That is of utmost importance to me.
What is your most significant accomplishment thus far?
That is a difficult question to answer as I can't pinpoint one specific accomplishment However, I can say that I am most proud of not having to approach any influencers to wear our brand. Our work speaks for itself, and they come to us on their own.
What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?
My advice is to start with what you have and what you can do Remember, this is not a competition. It is better to work together than to work against each other.

Beyond her achievements, she's a charismatic communicator, serving as a kids' reporter and co-hosting dance performances. Due to her exceptional communication skills, Jada received a special invitation from a local Consulting and Training company to serve as a motivational speaker during one of their events for teens. With an incredible passion for her pursuits, Jada continues to inspire and amaze at such a young age.
When did you discover your passion for performing?
Ja
I always loved singing. My grandma also used to sing, so we would always sing together. I started taking singing lessons when I was 3 years old. Together with the dance group Explosion Dancers, I was able to perform for the first time in my life at the age of 3 on the cruise ship Freewinds. The feeling of performing at such a young age on a big cruise ship was indescribable; I even cried that day. My mother knew "Tante Naika" from Explosion Dancers, so then I started performing with the group. I don't have a favorite between singing and dancing; the combination of both is why I love performing so much.
Who are your biggest supporters?
My parents, family, and friends. But I think the biggest and most special supporters are my parents. I am thankful for them because they see the light in me. Because of that, they support and invest in me and my passion. They are also my biggest critics; they are always encouraging me to do and be my best self. They believe in me and never give up on me; whenever I do something wrong, they show me how to correct it. This is not only with performing but also with my education. I am grateful for them because I am aware that not everybody is blessed with such parents who always provide for you and stand ten toes down for you no matter what.
What has been your biggest project yet?
I have worked on several projects. The biggest one yet was something completely different from what I am used to. I spoke at a masterclass for teens called "I AM the Butterfly." Together with other speakers who are also artists and celebrities here in Curaçao, we gave speeches on different topics. Notably, I was the youngest speaker, even younger than the attendees. The topic of my presentation was courage and facing your fears. My slogan in the masterclass was: “Rise above fear and soar to new heights”. It was one of my biggest projects because it was the first time that I put my public speaking skills to the test in such a setting; normally, I am used to just giving a show for the audience. This time I spoke to them and engaged with them; it was like a conversation with a big group of people simultaneously. So, for this, I had to do a completely different training and preparation than I am normally used to.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Well, with my busy schedule filled with both school and my career as an artist, it is not easy to get free time. But when I do, I spend it playing on my piano in my room. I also love swimming; I am part of the swim club called Typhoon together with my little brother. I also love to watch and make Tik Tok videos and watch YouTube and Netflix. And of course, I love to spend time with my friends. Another funny thing is that I love to annoy my brother and father, LOL.
Do you feel that having such a hectic schedule affects your life as a normal teen?
You know, I am used to it. Since I was little, I have always been an active kid. So, I love to always have something new to do. But thanks to my parents, they help me put together my schedule, so I can have enough free time to also do fun things like going out with my friends, going to the movies, having sleepovers, etc.
Who is one of your favorite celebrity role models?
My international role model is Beyoncé. I love Queen Bee because she is an amazing performer, and we have many things in common, like our love for singing, dancing, and performing. The way she combines her singing and dancing is admirable. I would love to be where she is in her career one day. My favorite local artist is Nello. I love his songs; they are so catchy that whenever you listen to them, they get stuck in your mind. A fun fact is they surprised me with him as part of my music video "Feliz." It was super fun to have him in my music video.
What inspired your songs, and which of your songs have been the biggest hits?
I always wanted to record my own songs. When I was 9 years old,
my mother gave me the opportunity to do so. That is when I released my first song "Ariba." This was during COVID-19, and it was an encouraging song for others to, no matter what, always get back up and continue. Later, I released "Feliz," which was in English and Spanish. But I think "Mi Vibe" is my biggest hit. I recorded it in Manrique, Medellin, Colombia in just a few days. The genre is reggaeton, which is also what’s trending.
As a local artist, could you share your experiences performing internationally?
I have not only performed internationally, but I have also done modeling. When I was 6 years old, I competed in a modeling competition in New York for the first time, and I won. It was a new experience and fun to meet new people and model in different types of clothing. Later I went back to participate in New York Fashion Week. I also competed in Atlanta, where I ended 1st run-up and best red carpet. After that, I went to focus on my music. I went to perform in Orlando Florida for the same model agency that I competed for in Atlanta. For this, I had to audition, and I was accompanied by Explosion Dancers as my backup dancers. It went so well that they asked me to come back for a second time to perform. Additionally, I had the opportunity to showcase my talent in a pregame show for the NBA team Orlando Magic at the Amway Center; this also went so well that they asked me to come back to perform.
What does it feel like to be the face of several renowned brands here in Curaçao?
I have been working with companies such as Changes, Van Den Tweel Supermarket, Cantú/Bremar Agencies,
ada
SEAT and Kids Paradise. It is an honor to be the face for such big brands at such a young age because it is something that many don't get the chance to do. And a privilege to see many look up to me and get inspired by me. It also puts a little pressure on me because this also comes with many responsibilities.
What are your top five essential items for the upcoming back-to-school season?
My backpack is always important
A water bottle
A new pair of shoes, I love sneakers
What message would you like to convey to our kids and youth?
My message is to never give up no matter what happens. If you have a dream, you can achieve it. If something fails along the way, get back up and shake it off and keep going. And always surround yourself with positive people.

‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation was founded in 2017. Journalist Yves Cooper and teacher Suyanne Janga noticed that a lot of children were going to school with an empty stomach, and this had a major impact on their performance in school because it could affect their concentration. Mr. Cooper and Ms. Janga posted this on social media and Anuschka Cova picked it up and, as President of the financial organization she was representing at the time, founded TMMK. So, the essence of this project is to provide as many children as possible with food. ‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation focused on helping kids in need with 3 balanced meals per day, 7 days a week, also during vacations and on weekends. There were no other organizations doing that. The support provided by ‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The foundation helps 610 children across 32 schools. The food packages are delivered to the schools, and the schools ensure that the kids eat two meals a day at school and take a sandwich home. The Foundation uses one central kitchen with four staff members who prepare all the food every day. The foundation operates 7 days a week, and on weekends, a smaller group of kids receive their food at home. In 2020, during COVID, the Foundation got subsidized by the Government for the first time and this helped to increase the number of kids receiving food.
Was there any previous investigation done before starting the project?
Yes, through this investigation, we identified the need for the project because teachers noticed that a lot of kids came to school with an empty stomach and not bringing anything for lunch. They observed that these kids had no energy because they hadn’t had a meal. Through investigation we learned that the Lions Club was also providing kids with breakfast, but also that many more kids were in need of a good meal. So we decided to start the project by providing more needy kids with breakfast, and collaborated with the Lions Club to also give lunch/dinner to the ones they were giving breakfast.
How many people does the board of ‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation consist of?
Our board consists of five people, one president and four board members. Additionally, there are four people in the kitchen and six to seven drivers who deliver the food. Tasks are divided among the members i.e. logistics, fundraising, liaison kitchen.
How are the menus planned?
Every day we provide a different meal, and try to be creative for the kids. We have a chef who works in a renowned restaurant here in Curaçao assisting us in the kitchen Every Thursday together with him we plan our weekly menu to send to our suppliers. Our menu is very varied and includes one hot meal with items such as rice, pasta, polenta, wraps, vegetables, chicken, fish; two sandwiches and a piece of fruit. The only thing that we don't include is pork meat.
Following the advice of the nutritionists, the hot meals contain more than one third vegetables and more than one third carbohydrates.
How does ‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation receive funds?
We had private funding until 2020 and, as mentioned above, in 2020 we started receiving subsidies from the Government of Curaçao (Ministry of SOAW) We also receive private donations and are actively doing fundraising. We are also looking for organizations/companies to sponsor/adopt schools so that we can tackle the problem faster. Adoption of 1 kid daily costs 4 guilders.
How do you select who receives the help?
We work with school boards and teachers to make sure that we give the kids who are really in need of food The teachers are the primary source to identify the problem as they are the ones closer to the kids; they will make sure the head of the school is aware and they will sign up the kids with the foundation This is a structure that has proven to be efficient; so we can really help the ones who need it. Social workers also work with us. We have meetings and evaluate the process with schools and school heads. Moreover, we have a rigid subsidy process once a year and audited financials that safeguard the whole process.
What are the goals for the future of ‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation?
We want to increase the number of kids we help to 1200 which is approximately the number of kids in need of food that we estimated with the help of the Government and schools.
Additionally, we plan to work on sustainability Making sure we can start a planting program at school where kids can plant and eat their own vegetables, for example.
How can any individual or organization give a helping hand? Any individual or company can contribute with any amount We recommend the adoption of kids or schools from one day to a full year
What is the importance of the ‘Tur Mucha Mester Kome’ foundation in the life of the kids?
It is very important for kids to have enough and balanced food in order to function well at school as well as socially. The foundation provides in this basic need and by doing so, also gives kids the feeling that they are appreciated and cared for.
Sadly not every kid gets the attention needed to become proficient in math. The “Tur Ta Konta” Foundation is committed to helping the most vulnerable children, providing them with extra attention, encouragement and support in math. Fundashon Tur Ta Konta was founded by Etienne Ys together with two co-founders.
What was the reason to found “Fundashon
Tur Ta Konta"?
Two important things in the education of a child are reading and math If you look at our primary school system, the final exam (EFO-Toets) tests your language and math skills because they are the basis of all education. There were already organizations that helped children with reading, but none to help with math. I used to help my kids with math and realized that not all children have the privilege of a parent that can help them or can pay for extra tutoring. So I decided to do something about it. After sharing the idea with several of my acquaintances, they encouraged me to start the foundation. After being challenged by a friend to stop procrastinating, I was able to found the foundation in 30 days.
What was the first project that “Fundashon Tur Ta Konta” executed?
We discussed the proposal with several school boards and they have selected 5 schools we could start with. At these schools, we asked them to identify children from fourth to sixth grade w based on their grades, needed help
with math. Then, we looked for tutors who would voluntarily tutor those kids. These tutors would first get a training
What other activities does “Fundashon Tur Ta Konta” organize?
After the first project, we noticed that there were a lot of parents who wanted to help their kids but couldn't because the way math is taught today is different compared to what their parents were taught back in the day. So we decided to start to organize workshops for parents. These workshop take place twice a year. We also have “Kues Tur Ta Konta”. The sixth graders from all primary schools can participate in this quiz. For years we did it in the aula of the University of Curaçao, but last year we decided to change things a bit, and now it is in the form of a scavenger hunt. The first quiz was held in 2015. Once a year, we also organize a symposium for those who work in the education sector.
This year's “Kues Tur Ta Konta" was recently held. Tell us how it went.
This year, we had the sixth “Kues Tur Ta Konta”, and the second time in its newest form, which is the scavenger hunt in Punda. From the feedback we received from the kids, the part they liked the most is the fact that they were able to get to know Punda by running through the streets while also solving the math problems. It’s great seeing their enthusiasm and how they worked together as a team to help each other.
How well do those who receive tutoring from "Fundashon Tur Ta Konta" do?
We did not do any research on this after COVID-19. But before COVID-19, between 60% and 70% of those who received our tutoring saw an increase in their grades. In total, we helped more than 500 kids during our existence,
And even more important, their self confidence has increased exponentially according to the feedback of the teachers
What challenges do you face as a foundation?
Finding funds is always a challenge. Finding volunteers is also a challenge because this is a long-term commitment, at least for one whole school year. With the demand that we have, finding volunteers remains a bottleneck for us
How can someone or an organization give a helping hand?
One way is by becoming a tutor. Whether it is one person individually or a company that wants to volunteer with some of its employees as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility policy, for instance Another way is by sponsoring our foundation, or a combination. They can get in contact with us by email info@turtakonta.com or via WhatsApp (+5999) 5271405.
What future plans does “Fundashon Tur Ta Konta” have?
We are constantly looking for more tutors We also want to better equip our tutors with, for example, more training and workshops and a form of mini internship at school. As for the popular Math quiz challenges, we want to reintroduce the traditional “Kues Tur Ta Konta”, but this time we will offer it to the first and second grades of the secondary schools
