Medium: Oil paint and dry pastel

Directions: Sharing location with Elizabeth See and Ardis DeFreece - see directions for #21.

Description of Work: The subject of my artwork is the rain forest of the Gorge, Oregon Coast, Willamette Valley and Tahoe National Forrest. Instead of the vista, I focus on the intimate and close aspects of the trail and canopy of the trees. My style is aggressive and expressionistic. I am invested in mark making as would be an abstract expressionist painter. My goal is to reconnect viewers with nature, specifically the rain forest and have them fall in love with nature again.

Description of Work: I work, for the most part, in a representational style creating still life, landscape, portrait, mural and decorative works. Recently I have been working on more narrative pieces. I work in oil, acrylic, charcoal, graphite and enamels. My inspiration comes from everyday life, the beauty of the ordinary and the extraordinary. My regular studio is in Trout Lake, WA, but this year I will be sharing space with Elizabeth See and Carl Annala at their family homestead in Hood River.
