GRANDMOTHERS’ RECIPES FROM THAT GOOD OLD TIMES

EVERGREEN SOUP INGREDIENTS •• •• •• •• ••

1 onion 1 tbs butter 200 g potatoes 300 g pea, fresh or frozen 700 ml chicken broth or water

PREPARATION: Melt the butter over the low heat and add chopped onion. Cook until softened. Add peeled and chopped potatoes, stir in peas. Add water or broth and season at your liking. Cook for approximately 15 minutes. If the pea is frozen prolong the cooking time.

Use Retro Collection Hand Blender to process the soup. Decorate with cream.

CHERRY MERINGUE PIE PASTRY

•• 125 g egg whites •• 250 g powder sugar

300 g flour 85 g butter 1 yolk 1 tbs powder sugar

•• 1 tbs water Mix all dry ingredients (flour, sugar, butter) using flex beater. Change the beater on your Retro Collection Kitchen Machine with the dough hook. Add yolk and water. Let pastry cool down in the fridge for 15 minutes.

PIE FILLING •• •• •• •• ••

Bonned cherries Sugar Cinnamon Lemon juice Lemon peel

Mix all ingredients together well.

Put egg whites and sugar to a saucepan and mix on a low temperature. When sugar is melted, the temperature will be around 50 ºC. Put the mixture in the mixing bowl and mix with the whisker until thick.

PREPARATION: Roll out the pastry, press it into corners and trim off the excess pastry. Use forks to pierce the pastry. Scatter the filling over the pastry.

Bake for approximately 30 minutes on 180 ºC. Decorate the pie with meringue and burn it with the burner to get this nice retro look.
