A Tribute to HRH Prince Philip

The Duke of Edinburgh 1921–2021

GORDONIANS,

Welcome to the Spring edition of the Gordonian newsletter, which compliments the online Gordonian community website and our social media activity. On the 9 April 2021 it was with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The Duke, aged 99, was the longest-serving consort in British history. His funeral took place on Saturday 17 April in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. Prince Philip made two official visits to Gordon’s School. The first one was to present the Colour in 1955, followed by a visit with the Queen in 1985 to mark the 100 year anniversary of the School. In this edition of the Gordonian we will look back at Royal visits and share with you the memories from the Gordonians who were there.
