Rising Star: Finny Olston

n the heart of Horsham, there's a budding soccer star named Finny Olston who's been making

waves in the local soccer scene. At just 8 years old, in year two, Finny recently completed the winter competition and started the summer season with his team, the Horsham Falcons. Finny's journey into soccer is as unique as it is inspiring. "I saw this YouTube video about Ronaldo, and it made me decide to play soccer. I also watched the Matildas, but I got upset because of their game against England," he shared. It was a pivotal moment that sparked his passion for the sport. In his most recent season, Finny's Horsham Falcons made it to the semi-finals, though they drew and lost in a penalty shootout. The team eventually secured an impressive third place. During the presentation night, Finny received a remarkable 12 votes for the best and fairest player award, surpassing even his older brother Rhylee. Throughout the season, he missed only two games, and he's committed to attending every game for the upcoming summer season and next year's winter season, declaring, "I'm going for the top." Finny's on-field versatility is noteworthy, frequently switching between the roles of a goalkeeper and striker. "Striker is my favorite, but my second favourite is goalie," he revealed.
