Emerging Potters – 25 Book Review: Contemporary

British Ceramics

“I have tried to account for different approaches to its reading. Each chapter is self-contained, enabling you to dip in and out the book as you see fit. For those who decide to read the book chronologically, I have placed artists in close proximity where there is a shared vocabulary or point of reference. This is not so much putting work into conceptual boxes; more curating it into echoes and synergies, as well as very real and significant differences. For this reason, I do not consider the lack of sub-sections in this book to be a critical retreat. Quite the opposite, in fact”.

The result is a book which captures the very best of what is being produced today, capturing the richness and diverse approach of the makers. This is not just a coffee-table book but an essential reference tool for anyone interested in modern ceramics.
