Goodwood Revival 2018 - BMW

Foreword First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all our partners after another successful and dramatic Revival in September. Without your enthusiastic support it simply would not have been possible to stage the 20th anniversary event on such a spectacular scale.

On reflection, I feel this was perhaps the best Revival yet; all the elements came together to create a very special atmosphere, entirely befitting our major anniversary. Looking at the crowd, it seemed that everyone had made a huge effort to dress in style, and the steaming locomotive at the entrance was a memorable sight and a lovely piece of theatre as everyone stepped through the gates into another world.

As ever, we saw some thrilling racing, beginning with the drama of the Kinrara Trophy on Friday evening, with all those beautiful Ferraris, Aston Martins and Jaguars racing through sunset and into dusk. Then, on Sunday, we witnessed one of the most exciting Tourist Trophy Celebration races we have ever seen, with father and son pairing David and Olivier Hart taking victory in their thunderous AC Cobra. Racing is still at the very heart of the Revival, the fans enjoying fantastic wheel-to-wheel battles throughout the weekend.

Thanks to your commitment, and the efforts of my team to find the very best cars, the Revival has kept alive the great traditions of racing established by my grandfather back in 1948. Having celebrated our first 20 years I am really looking forward to working with you all to build on what we have achieved thus far.

The depth and breadth of the event, which remains the only major sporting event in the world to be staged entirely in a period theme, owes a huge amount to your enthusiasm and energy. So I want to thank you for your contribution, and I much look forward to seeing you all back at the motor circuit next year.
