The Freddie March Spirit of Aviation exhibition, presented by Bonhams Cars, is a magnificent concours d’elegance for pre-1966 aircraft. It brings together some of the most elegant and rarely seen machines from the history of aviation. Now in its 25th year, the exhibition is a pivotal part of the Revival, highlighting Goodwood’s rich aviation heritage and is named after and celebrates Freddie March, the 9th Duke of Richmond, who was a racing driver, aircraft engineer and entrepreneur.

If you are arriving by car to the event, please follow the orange event signs labelled FMSOA Launch Party. These will direct you to the dedicated area in Car Park C, please show your FMSOA swing badge on arrival to the car park and allow 20–30 minutes to get to the party entrance.
If you are arriving by chauffeur or taxi, ask to be dropped off at the Bus Terminus. You can walk along Westerton Lane, cross Claypit Lane and enter the Motor Circuit through Gate 2.

A member of the Goodwood team will be present to welcome you, check your ticket and direct you to the entrance. It’s a short walk, but for those with any mobility issues there will be one bus that will leave from the bus terminal at1640hrs. Please note there will be limited spaces.
The party will close at 2000hrs and continue ‘Over the Road’ until 2200hrs. If you are being collected by a chauffeur, taxi or similar, please head back to the bus terminus for chauffeur or taxi collection.

For those of you who are attending the Revival Cricket Match before the party, there is a shuttle bus that will be running between Goodwood House and the bus terminus at Car Park C.
Due to the party being held on the eve of the Goodwood Revival, please note the site will be extremely busy – vehicles left anywhere on site other than Car Park C will be towed. Also please be aware cars should not be left overnight in the car park.
Upon arrival you will be greeted with a glass of Champagne, at your leisure you can collect your delicious food and find a good spot to enjoy this. Following the Champagne reception, wine by the glass, beer and soft drinks will be served. There will also be a bar open on the evening to purchase additional drinks. The bar will close at 1945hrs.
Enjoy an exclusive preview of the aircraft on display whilst watching air displays unique to the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation Party. There will be a selection of magnificent flying machines on show, each handpicked for their public interest, historical value, aesthetic appeal and quality of restoration.
The AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers will perform breath-taking acrobatics and handstands whilst strapped to the top wings of beautiful 1940’s Boeing Stearman biplanes, as the pilots fly through a choreographed and energetic routine of dazzling aerobatics and close formation flypasts. These manoeuvres include loops, rolls, stall turns and inverted flight – all reaching speeds of up to 150 mph.
The Stampe formation display team is an airshow act in the finest traditions of classical barnstorming aviation from the 1930s and 40s. The formation of four open cockpit, aerobatic bi-planes fly at speeds of up to 130 mph and perform exciting formation changes, dynamic breaks and a series of tail chases that are thrilling to watch.
Watch the historic Spitfires and Hurricane take off from the airfield and fly in formation above the event. It’s an unmissable moment to mark the start of the Revival weekend.
