IMPACT REPORT GoodwillSouthernAZ.org
19/20 WHAT A YEAR? It has been a challenging year for all of us. Amid the uncertainty and stress of these unprecedented times, Goodwill® Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. has remained a steady presence in the community for those in need. When COVID hit, many of our stores closed to the public and much of our in-person programming was put on hold. That did not stop us from working to benefit Southern Arizona, our team jumped in and partnered with the Pima County Health Department to collect much needed personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies for local frontline medical workers. Goodwill® also worked with the Pima Animal Care Center to donate items to help keep pets in their forever homes and support foster programs. We donated textiles and t-shirts, so thousands of face masks could be made by local volunteers. In August, Goodwill launched our second Youth Re-Engagment Center (REC). The REC connects youth to education, community resources and healthy role models to steer them towards a path of sustained success. Our Goodwill® Adult ReEntry program was named Program of the Year by the Second Chance Coalition for helping reintegrate individuals back into our community and workforce. The pandemic impacted every aspect of our organization and we committed to keeping our employees, shoppers, donors and the community safe. People’s needs did not stop with COVID so the life changing work of Goodwill’s social services and program staff did not either. Lisa Allen, Co-President/CEO
