The series won 21 Primetime Emmy Awards and was nominated for a total of 112. This February, Museum of the Moving Image will honor The Sopranos with an exhibition and three special screenings featuring showrunner and series creator David Chase and cast members Steven Van Zandt, Dominic Chianese, Edie Falco, and Annabella Sciorra in person.
The exhibition Stories and Sets for The Sopranos, opening February 14 in the Museum’s Amphitheater Gallery, centers materials that trace how the series’ narrative and visual worlds were established. Drawing from David Chase’s personal archive, the exhibition features scripts, notes, and research that documents the development of the celebrated series’ story arcs and character trajectories as it moved from a pilot into the first season. It also examines the design of the four principal sites where the series’ central action unfolds—Dr. Melfi’s office, the Soprano home, the Bada Bing strip club, and Satriale’s Pork Store—through a presentation of concept art, construction drawings, and ground

WMI and Flamenco Festival New York celebrate the closing night of the 25th Anniversary of the Festival with a special performance that honors the man who introduced flamenco guitar to the global stage from the heart of Manhattan. This tribute concert is a musical homage to the legendary flamenco guitarist Agustín Castellón Campos, known simply as Sabicas, and takes place at the same iconic theater where, in 1959, he made history by performing the first flamenco guitar recital as a solo concert instrument.
Three generations of guitarists — the virtuosic Gerardo Núñez, the Latin Grammy Award-winning Antonio Rey, and rising star Álvaro Martinete — celebrate the living legacy Sabicas created. Joining them will be guest artist Olga Pericet, whose bold, elegant performance evokes the legendary Carmen Amaya, Sabicas’s long-time artistic partner, bringing full circle a moment that shaped the modern history of flamenco.

Genre-defying rock legends The Black Crowes, the GRAMMY Awardwinning Tedeschi Trucks Band, and modern rock’s boundary-pushing powerhouse Whiskey Myers, will take the stage for one night only at the legendary Hollywood Bowl for an extraordinary night on Monday, August 17.
Dominating rock careers forged via stage-shaking performances, this tour promises no bullshit — just a high-voltage rock-n-roll collision from the hardest-hitting bands in music today. From thunderous drums, blistering guitar work, and lyrics that don’t flinch, fans can expect a roaring setlist stacked with classics, deep cuts, and the kind of onstage band chemistry and electrifying stage presence that can’t be replicated. Careerdefining anthems to crowd-roaring singalongs, every night promises to be a full-throttle reminder that rock-n-roll is alive and well and best served up loud, outrageous, and a little dangerous.

The Mets made their biggest off-season move to upgrade their offense when they signed free agent infielder Bo Bichette to a three-year, $126 million contract. The news of his signing came approximately twelve hours after their most desired free agent, outfielder Kyle Tucker, signed with the Dodgers for an amazing four-year, $240 million contract.
Bo Bichette is an excellent contact hitter, and he is especially good with runners in scoring position, which has long been a problem for the Mets. On the other hand, he is being asked to move from shortstop to third base, a position he has not played. He has limited range to go along with a weak throwing arm. If Mets President of Baseball Operations, David Stearns, is not worried, then why should Mets fans be?
You must wonder why the Mets were eager to get

rid of fan favorite, and the club’s all-time home run leader, Pete Alonso, The five-year, $155 million contract the Orioles lavished upon him now seems like the bargain of this baseball off-season. Alonso’s defense is far better than David Stearns believes. He can scoop out bad throws from infielders, as well as preventing many extra base hits by getting his body in front of hard-hit grounders down the first base line.
No television personality has been busier this month than the face of NBC Sports, Mike Tirico. He called the action at Super Bowl LX in the Bay Area, and then flew to Milan, where he is anchoring the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Tirico told me at a press event held by NBC Sports last month that he is not worried about his grueling travel schedule. He also said he has been doing his homework on the many Olympians from all over the globe who will be competing for the gold in Milan.
Noah Eagle, the son of broadcaster extra ordinaire Ian Eagle, is being groomed by NBC to be their main NBA play-by-play man, when Mike Tirico wants to reduce his schedule. Eagle, along with Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony, worked NBA All-Star weekend for the Peacock Network.
Yes, it is easy to laugh at the New York Jets, but I want to speak up for them. Jets fans are the best-rested fans in the NFL when the workweek begins because most of their games start at 1PM. Unlike the Bears and the Patriots, the Jets don’t make their fans risk catching pneumonia by hosting playoff games in frigid weather. Jets fans do not have to worry about getting their blood pressure soaring because of stressful, nail-biting games, which were common in this year’s playoffs.

Tony Award winner Daniel Radcliffe returns to Broadway in the intimate solo show “Every Brilliant Thing,” written by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe and directed by Jeremy Herrin and Macmillan. Featuring some on-stage seating, the interactive production includes optional audience participation. As narrator Radcliffe reflects on his life and the glimmers of hope that helped him survive difficult times as the play explores the themes of depression and suicide. Performances begin February 21. Eva Noblezada returns to her original role as Daisy Buchanan in the musical “The Great Gatsby,” starring opposite fan favorite Jeremy Jordan (who leaves on March 7 to replace Jonathan Groff as Bobby Darin in “Just in Time”). Noblezada’s “Hadestown” co-star – and husband – Reeve Carney then joins her March 30, taking over the role of Jay Gatsby.
While Broadway catches its breath ahead of next month’s onslaught of new productions, Off-Broadway is brimming with variety and experimentation. Ethan Slater (“SpongeBob SquarePants” and Boq in the “Wicked” films) stars as legendary mime Marcel Marceau in “Marcel on the Train,” which he co-wrote with director Marshall Pailet. The play reveals the Jewish mime’s involvement with the French Resistance during World War II, as he used his skills as a mime to help smuggle more than 70 Jewish children from an orphanage in Nazi-occupied France to safety across the

Karan Brar reprises his role from last year’s Arena Stage premiere as Maneesh, a brilliant recent college grad who has created a predictive algorithm. “Bigfoot!” a satirical musical comedy with lyrics by writer and TV host Amber Ruffin (“Some Like It Hot”), book by Ruffin and Kevin Scirett, and music by David A. Schmoll concerns a small-town mayor (played by Alex Moffet) who convinces his constituents that their problems are caused by an eight-foot tall youth dubbed Bigfoot (Grey Henson of “Mean Girls” and “Elf”) rather than his inept leadership. Set in Muddirt, a glow-in-the-dark oasis, “Bigfoot,” is described as a “tale of corrupt politicians, small town paranoia and misunderstood youth.” Crystal LucasPerry, Katerina McCrimmon, Jade Jones and Jake Letts costar under Danny Mefford’s direction. Recent Juilliard graduate Jake Brasch makes his OffBroadway playwriting debut with “The Reservoir.” Billed as a “funny, human play about memory, recovery and the joys of cross-generational connection,” the work centers on a man (Noah Galvin) who returns home to Denver to become sober and unexpectedly finds himself in sync with his four aging grandparents. Shaquille O’Neal is professional sports all-time pitchman and businessman. He has just teamed up with Hershey’s to launch a line of gummies called ShaqA-Licious SLAMS. No, they do not contain CBD.

The Professional Women’s Hockey League is catching on. Over 17,000 fans came out to the Verizon Center in Washington, DC last month to see the New York Sirens defeat the Montreal Victoire, 201. The Sirens will be hosting a game at Madison Square Garden on April 4. It would be nice if they returned to their original home, the UBS Arena, for a game.
Another sport which has rapidly gained popularity is Professional Bull Riding. PBR sold out Madison Square Garden for three days last month for the annual Monster Buck Off which was won by Sage Steele Kimzey. PBR events can be seen on demand on the Paramount Plus streamer, and on select Sundays on CBS.

The Pinstripe Bowl may not be the most meaningful college football game of the year, but it does help NYC tourism. Over 41,000 fans came out to Yankee Stadium on a cold, gray late December day to watch Penn State defeat Clemson. The subways were jammed with alumni from each school.
Last month, the YES Network’s Frank Isola, who grew up in North Babylon complained to his partner, Chris Shearn, about the softball questions reporters were asking Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez following the team’s desultory loss to the Utah Jazz.
“Reporters should not be asking questions which offer excuses. Jordi Fernandez, to his credit, refused to accept them for his team’s loss,” Isola stated.
While Frank Isola, who is a very respected sportswriter and broadcaster, is obviously correct, I need to offer a defense to those reporters. I have been to press conferences where the moderator from the team’s public relations department will contemptuously ignore reporters who have their hands in the air wanting to ask a question. In the same way, it is common for these gatekeepers to deny credentials to journalists they do not like, especially if they are not from major outlets. It is an unfortunate reality in an era when the media is under attack by those in power.
Congratulations to Nets radio voice, Chris Carrino, for being named best NY sportscaster by the National Sports Media Association. Carrino’s analyst partner, Tim Capstraw, recently called his 2,000th consecutive Nets game. Watch out, Cal Ripken!

Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms have joined forces yet again for an electrifying co-headlining summer tour. The bands behind signature hits like “Run-Around” and “Hey Jealousy” have announced a 35-date run that includes a special performance at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, July 31st for a 6:00 PM show.
Tickets are on sale on via Ticketmaster and at the Mohegan Sun Box Office.

During the 2025 co-headlining tour, Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms took over the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage for an unforgettable on-air mashup, highlighting the chemistry and energy fueling their 2026 return.
Blues Traveler — who last year celebrated 30 years since the single release of their GRAMMY® Award-winning breakthrough hit “Run-Around,” a milestone highlighted in a Rolling Stone interview with frontman John Popper — will join Gin Blossoms, whose quadruple-platinum album New Miserable Experience helped define ‘90s alternative radio, for this highly-anticipated run. In addition, returning from last year’s lineup, the tour features Alternative Rock band Spin Doctors, commemorating this year the 35th anniversary of their multi-platinum debut Pocket Full of Kryptonite, home to the chart-topping, GRAMMY®nominated hit “Two Princes.”

Since 2023, Dean Silva has emerged as one of Long Island’s most consistent and in-demand live performers. With more than 300 shows played across the region, Dean Silva has built a reputation as a true working musician, performing everywhere from Montauk to Nassau County and regularly extending his reach into New York City.

Known for his piano-driven performances, Dean Silva has helped redefine the Long Island restaurant and live music scene. His shows are rooted in strong musicianship, dynamic vocals, and classic songwriting, relying on feel and connection rather than backing tracks or gimmicks. Whether performing solo or in larger settings, Dean Silva’s ability to command a room from behind the piano has made him a staple at venues across Suffolk County.
In addition to performing, Dean Silva owns and operates Silva Studios in East Setauket. The studio serves as the creative base for his original music, where he records and releases new material at a prolific pace — often debuting a new song weekly. The space has also become a trusted recording destination for other local artists seeking a handson, musician-focused environment.

The music on the Blue Light Club CD stems from an original immersive live musical theatrical experience of the same name created by Licitra’s band, Jack’s Waterfall. It is designed as a musical journey into an imaginary jazz and blues haven, brought to life through soulful storytelling and compelling characters. The CD is expected to be released in late March.
The Bluelight Club features Jack Licitra on piano and Vocals, Eric Halvorson on drums and Al Levy from Little Buster and The Soul Brothers on bass. Stand out performance of “Peace in a Restless World” by the amazing Rorie Kelly. It’s a song about loss and feeling like a stranger in this world.“My Soul so far from home, I always feel alone.”
Michael Blake is featured on tenor sax. Blake is a staple of the NYC scene with that classic New York tenor sound. He is known for his work with Charlie Hunter and Cyril Neville. Teddy Motz is musical director. He is featured here on bari sax.

Scout Gillett released her new single/ video “Coney Island,” the latest off her forthcoming new album Tough Touch, due out March 6th, via Slouch Records. The melodic rocker was inspired by Neil Young’s Crazy Horse and plays out like a vivid memory: “I wrote this during a prolonged, really difficult breakup. We went to Coney Island even though we both knew we couldn’t be together anymore. It was one of the most visceral experiences of my life,” explains the Missouri-born, now LA-based, former Brooklynite.” It was so beautifully real, raw, and sad.
“Coney Island” follows the driving, lead single “Too Fast To Last,” which earned praise. Gillett will perform next at NYC’s TV Eye on March 8th and has confirmed a hometown show at LA’s Non Plus Ultra on May 2nd following a March headline tour throughout Europe and the UK.
Following the euphoric release of “Sweat,” the title track from her forthcoming ninth studio album, Melanie C returns with the second single “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?” A rush of shimmering synths and irresistible momentum, the track builds on the joyful, club-ready energy that defines the Sweat eraplayful, self-assured and made for movement.
Before she became Melanie C of the Spice Girls, she was Melanie Chisholm of “The F**king Yeah Four,” a group of 18-year-old friends dancing through the Costa Brava rave

scene in the early ’90s. Those nights of breakbeats, sweat and freedom would shape her forever. Decades later, Melanie C channels that same raw energy into Sweat - her ninth studio album and most euphoric record to date.
The new single lands amid a standout period for Melanie C. Recent highlights include headline performances and appearances at ABC Sydney New Year’s Eve, New York’s Jingle Ball, The Kelly Clarkson Show and Good Morning America, plus viral moments alongside global pop phenomenon KATSEYE.

The Sorceress is a vibrant fusion of jazz, electronica, swing, and pop – a sonic portrait that brings together the many influences that have shaped Audrey Ochoa’s musical journey. Each track blends improvisation with infectious hooks and lush harmonies, creating a sound that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. At its heart, the trombone takes center stage as a voice of emotion and empowerment, weaving stories of resilience, humor, and acceptance. This album is a celebration of transformation, creativity, and the magic that happens when genres and emotions intertwine.

Moe Bandy is celebrating the 45th anniversary of his Top 10 hit duet “Hey Joe, Hey Moe,” recorded with Joe Stampley. Originally released in 1981 as the lead and only single from their duet album ‘Hey Joe (Hey Moe)’ on Columbia Records, the song was a reimagined take on the folk standard “Hey Joe,” with lyrics specially rewritten for the project by Boudleaux Bryant. The release became a standout moment in both artists’ careers and remains a fan-favorite collaboration more than four decades later.
Moe Bandy recently released, ‘Songs I Missed.’ Staying true to his traditional country roots, he delivered a collection of classic hits, carefully selecting songs that he had once passed over earlier in his career, as well as others he had always wished he could record, giving fans a glimpse of the music he truly connected with and wanted to bring to life.
The album features iconic songs such as “Heartaches By The Number,” “Six Days On The Road,” “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “Amarillo By Morning,” and “Pure Love,” with Bandy’s signature honky-tonk sound paying tribute to country music’s golden era.
Vince Gill’s year-long project, 50 Years From Home (MCA), continues to roll out with the release of Brown’s Diner Bar, the third EP of the critically-acclaimed series. The previous two releases from this ambitious endeavor include I Gave You Everything I Had (October 17, 2025) and Secondhand Smoke (November 14, 2025).

Penned by Gill, the title track of Brown’s Diner Bar, in fact, takes him all the way back -- 50 years to when he first visited the famed Nashville eatery he’s immortalizing in song. “It’s a singersongwriter kind of folk song about...this little hamburger joint,” says Gill, who also provides a smooth electric guitar solo on the track. “It’s been in Nashville for 100 years now, and I’ve been going for 50. When I made my first trip to Nashville in the mid-70s I remember going to Brown’s for a cheeseburger; they’re famous for being really good cheeseburgers. It’s a funky little joint, close to Music Row, so tons of singers and songwriters and musicians turn up there. It’s just a great vibe.

Rising country star Tyce Delk shared a special duet version of his streaming hit “Adaline” with Oklahoma country-pop artist Trinity Lake. Her soulful vocals complement the blues-infected country ballad, which surpassed 1 million streams in under a week and currently sits at over 23 million U.S. streams to date (Luminate).
Late last year, Delk released his debut EP Enough Ain’t Enough to praise from MusicRow, Country Central and Holler, who exclaimed, “The second you hear [Tyce] stretch out and land that opening ‘Baby’ on his debut single, ‘Adaline,’ he blows every other country singer around out of the water. His voice has a depth and power and an ability to lift a song up and send it somewhere otherworldly that few other singers in modern-day country music have.” It’s grounded in Delk’s Red Dirt New Mexico roots with Western swing touches and radio-ready hooks.

Eagles start 2026 making history. They became the first band to earn Quadruple Diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of more than 40 million units of Their Greatest Hits 1971–1975, which remains the best-selling album of all time in the U.S. Additionally, the band’s Hotel California, has been re-certified 28x Platinum by the RIAA, scoring the third best-selling album of all time.
Before it was certified multi-Diamond, Their Greatest Hits 1971–1975 was the first album ever to be certified Platinum by the RIAA. In 1976, the album spent five weeks at #1, thanks to songs like “Witchy Woman,” “Already Gone,” and “The Best Of My Love.” Since its debut, the collection has logged more than 500 nonconsecutive weeks on the albums chart, was added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry in 2017, and was also named the best-selling album of the century in 1999. The unprecedented and historic certification arrives ahead of 50th anniversaries of both albums in 2026.

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MoFi) unveiled the 40th Anniversary 180g 45RPM 2LP edition of Stevie Nicks’ platinum-certified 1985 album Rock a Little. Strictly limited to 4,000 numbered copies, and housed in a gatefold jacket, the platinum-certified album was recorded for a reported one million dollars and teems with a head-spinning array of colors, textures, and dreamscapes. Sourced from the original analog tapes (1/4” / 15 IPS Dolby A analog copy to DSD 256 to analog console to lathe), this reference-grade reissue is the first time the music is conveyed with proper balance, dimensionality, and positioning. Nicks’ boundless enthusiasm for the project helped cement the album as an essential piece of ‘80s pop lore. The sonic advantages of the reissue extend to the statement-making opener “I Can’t Wait,” shot through with serious drama, and the snapping rhythmic pace and big hooks of “Imperial Hotel,” a standout moment in her solo catalog. The record, crafted by the likes of Benmont Tench and Waddy Wachtel, explores loneliness and the secrets we keep to ourselves. The album features her passionate performance of Chas Sanford’s “Talk to Me,” a Top 5 smash.

The new Roberta Flack collection, With Her Songs: The Atlantic Albums, 1969–1978, is the first retrospective release since the GRAMMY®Awardwinning singer passed away in 2025. A celebration of her tenure with Atlantic Records, the 8CD set presents newly remastered versions of her first eight studio albums. It is available from Rhino.
With Her Songs spans Flack’s Atlantic debut First Take through her self-titled 1978 album, covering a period when she emerged as one of the most commercially and critically successful artists of the 1970s. She was the first solo artist to win the GRAMMY®Award for Record of the Year in consecutive years, for “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” (1973) and “Killing Me Softly With His Song” (1974).
With Her Songs includes eight newly remastered studio albums: First Take (1969), Chapter Two (1970), Quiet Fire (1971), Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway (1972), Killing Me Softly (1973), Feel Like Makin’ Love (1975), Blue Lights in the Basement (1977), and Roberta Flack (1978).

Warrant was formed in 1984 and experienced success from 1989 to 1996 with five albums reaching international sales of over 10 million. The band first came into the national spotlight with their double platinum debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich (1989) and one of its singles, “Heaven”, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band’s success continued in the early 1990s with the double platinum album Cherry Pie (1990), which provided the hit song of the same name.
Now to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their fifth album which was released in October of 1996 and the last with Jani Lane. Belly To Belly Vol. 1 has been remastered and repackaged and is available for the first time on vinyl along with an accompanying CD. If you are a fan of Warrant & early 90’s style hard rock, you will probably love listening to this rare gem.
It will be out in April, and the vinyl will be 180g in both Splatter and Black. There will be a limited amount of CD/LP bundles with a signed print by original members Erik Turner and Jerry Dixon while supplies last. Pre-order Belly To Belly Vol. 1 https://www.dekoentertainment.com/reissues/warrant
Hardcore legends BIOHAZARD announced a major spring 2026 North American tour, joining Sepultura, Exodus, and Tribal Gaze for a stacked run of dates celebrating heavy music across the continent. The tour kicks off April 29th in Montclair, New Jersey at The Wellmont Theater and runs through May 29th in Los Angeles.
The tour arrives as BIOHAZARD continue their return with the release of their new album ‘Divided We Fall,’out now via BLKIIBLK Records, their first studio release in over a decade.

Reuniting the band’s original lineup, ‘Divided We Fall’ delivers a blistering statement of unity amid chaos, capturing BIOHAZARD at their most raw, relentless, and unifying.
Produced, mixed, and mastered by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Deftones), the album blends the band’s unmistakable fusion of hardcore, metal, and streetwise groove with a sharpened edge for a fractured modern world.
Recording sessions took place at Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch, New Jersey and The Hydeaway in Van Nuys, California, with engineering by Joseph DeMaio and additional recording from Matt Hyde.

There’s one thing that most people readily agree on: Live concerts are the icing on the cake for musicians and fans alike. Every show is a very special experience and sometimes even creates an almost magical performance. Such moments are beyond explanation; you just have to be there to believe it or, in a best-case scenario, have them recorded for posterity — as American Metal act Prong have done with their latest live album.
It is exactly what guitarist/vocalist Tommy Victor and bandmates Christopher Dean (bass) and Tyler Joseph (drums) have achieved on Live And Uncleansed.
Recorded over seven nights in July and August 2025, they present 11 powerful live songs, plus three live bonus tracks, all pure and unadulterated, authentic and honest, which is the reason why the result is so incredibly captivating.
“We were really well rehearsed, this is truly a live (!) record, everything is as is,” explains Victor, proudly adding: “You can hear some of the little mistakes here and there, but that makes it cool!”

Ahead of the release of Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, the intimate new feature documentary by Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy Award-winning director Morgan Neville, exploring Paul McCartney’s creative rebirth after The Beatles’ breakup, Capitol Records, MPL Communications and UMG have announced details of a companion album titled, Man on the Run - Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack.
The album includes all-time classics, hits and essential tracks from across Paul McCartney and Wings’ revered catalogue. The album will feature a third previously unreleased track in ‘Gotta Sing Gotta Dance’, originally featured in the 1973
The James Paul McCartney TV Special.

Golden Globe and GRAMMYnominated recording artist, songwriter, actor, and producer Nick Jonas presented his brand new solo album, Sunday Best, out via Republic Records. Spanning 11 tracks, Sunday Best marks Jonas’ first solo project in nearly five years and showcases him in a deeply open, introspective, and creatively renewed chapter.

To celebrate the album release, Jonas unveils the official music video for his fan favorite single,“Gut Punch,” offering a powerful visual companion to one of his most personal releases to date.
At the center of the video is a surprising and symbolic character: a puppet named “Jick Nonas,” who embodies Jonas’ inner dialogue, the voice of selfdoubt and self-criticism that often accompanies moments of vulnerability and personal growth. Throughout the video, Jick serves as both antagonist and mirror, representing the internal battles many face but rarely see portrayed so directly. Blending cinematic storytelling with surreal and emotional moments, the video visually explores the tension between self-perception and reality, reinforcing the song’s themes of introspection and confronting the ways we can sometimes be hardest on ourselves.

Electronic music maven Alesso makes his 2026 sonic debut with the release of “FADE.” A collaboration with Australian electronic rock band Pendulum, the epic track arrived along with the announcement of his first-ever US headline tour, set to kick off this April at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Hauntingly euphoric, “FADE” is a testament to Alesso’s sonic brilliance, marking a massive start to 2026. The intoxicating electroballad is a vivid vow of endless love and unprecedented fervor, brought to life through Alesso’s colossal
drops and Rob Swire’s larger-than-life vocals. Entwining the worlds of rock and electronic, the impassioned track highlights the unifying power of sound while both artist’s individuality shines through, resulting in a hit that’s as timeless as it is innovative.

When producers Steve Berlin, Joel Savoy, and executive producerJohn Leopold started assembling musicians from around the country to pay tribute to the late, great Zydeco authority Clifton Chenier on what would’ve been his 100th birthday, they knew they were cooking up something memorable. But the final project, an album titled “A Tribute to the King of Zydeco,” exceeded expectations and was awarded the GRAMMY for Best Regional Roots Music Album.
Released on Valcour Records, “A Tribute to the King of Zydeco” features contributions from world-renowned musicians like The Rolling Stones—read about the English rockers’ connection with Chenier in The Atlantic—Lucinda Williams,Taj Mahal, and zydeco’s current-day stars connecting the rest of the world to Louisiana’s deep soul and culture.
Purchase “A Tribute to the King of Zydeco” on CD or vinyl from the Valcour Records store.
From their inception in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986, The Afghan Whigs have never played by the rules of convention. Against the plaidand-grunge-shaded backdrop of the early-to-mid-‘90s, the Whigs stood apart from their contemporaries by virtue of attiring in suits and being way more likely to slide up on a Marvin Gaye groove than rehash a Black Sabbath riff.

Originally splitting in 2001, the band subsequently reunited for a massively successful 2012 reunion tour that found them headlining major festivals all over the globe and selling out prestigious venues throughout the U.S., Europe, and Southern Hemisphere. Since then, they have not only added to their touring legacy, they have released three critically acclaimed albums in the 21st century: Do to the Beast (2014), In Spades (2017) and How Do You Burn? (2022).
2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the band, who will celebrate the occasion with a twenty-date headline tour in North America. Mercury Rev will support on all dates. They’ll appear April 30th at Webster Hall.
