Julien’s Auctions announced another installment of its “Street Art” series of auctions with “STREET ART: PAINT & PAVEMENT,” taking place live from Julien’s Studios in Los Angeles and online at juliensauctions.com on Thursday, September 25th at 10:00 AM PDT (1:00 PM EST.)
This event continues a legacy of bringing the most significant works of street art from the pavement to the podium. Featuring 30 exceptional lots, the auction will showcase a curated selection of pieces by the genre’s most influential figures, including the anonymous provocateur Banksy, the pixel-art pioneer Invader, and the graphic icon Shepard Fairey.
A premier highlight of the auction is Banksy’s “Christ with Shopping Bags,” a powerful and sought-after limited-edition screenprint from 2004. This iconic piece, which critiques the commercialization of religion, is a cornerstone for any serious collector. Crucially, it is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Pest Control, Banksy’s official handling service, ensuring its undisputed provenance. This brilliant work is estimated to sell for $50,000 - $70,000.
Brighton Beach was always famous as a simple residential neighborhood attracting people with its wide sandy beaches, ocean breeze and tons of attractions on neighboring Coney Island. But did you know that it started as an upper middle class resort with several luxury hotels, largest bathing Pavilion, race track and famous outdoor concert venues? In early 1920s resorts were replaced with the residential neighborhoods and a lot of Jewish immigrants, mostly young families, moved here escaping overcrowded LES and some other areas of the city.
The influx of Soviet Jewish refugees in 1970s changed the face of Brighton Beach completely, filled it with young people, exotic food and culture, made it “Little Odessa (Ukraine) by the Sea.” In the tour they’ll visit some of the still functioning old synagogues, see the once luxury Art Deco houses where Jewish immigrants of 1920s lived, walk the famous Brighton Beach Ave while talking about Russian-speaking Jewish emigration, and see the spot where the original Brighton Beach resort hotels once stood Sunday, October 5, 2025 12:00 PM 2:00 PM NYCJewishTours.org

Few films have had the cultural staying power of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. What began as a quirky stage play in 1970s London became a global phenomenon that reshaped film, fashion, punk, musical theater, and even the early LGBTQIA+ movement.
Set for release on September 25th, to coincide with the film’s 50th anniversary, SANE INSIDE INSANITY, chronicles Rocky Horror’s unlikely rise through neverbefore-seen interviews and rare archival footage. Rather than a documentary full of platitudes, Andreas Zerr’s film offers a warts-and-all approach that is as much a celebration of the cult classic as it is a critique about the unhappier and more serious parts of its story. Andreas and his team spent more than a decade capturing candid conversations with the original cast and creative figures, including Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell, Barry Bostwick, Jim Sharman, Sal Piro, Richard Hartley and Sue Blane—and many others who had never shared their stories on camera until now.
The film goes beyond nostalgia, examining Rocky Horror’s role as a cultural lightning rod. It shows how a lowbudget production not only survived but thrived for over five decades, captivating millions around the world.

The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) recently announced that after running for nearly two years, the first ever Billy Joel exhibit, ‘Billy Joel: My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey’ is ‘movin’ out’! The last day of the exhibit run will be October 26th, 2025.
‘Billy Joel: My Life, A Piano Man’s Journey’ opened to the public on November 24th, 2023. During its nearly two-year run, this exhibit welcomed record numbers of tourists and tens of thousands of visitors from across the country—and even from overseas. It has also been featured in hundreds of news stories.
The exhibit was designed by world renowned designer Kevin O’Callaghan. It tells the story of Billy Joel’s life and career and features over 50 years of his most cherished items. These items included rare memorabilia, behind-the-scenes video footage, dozens of awards, rare audio and video recordings, vintage instruments, and historic photos—many of which were donated by Billy Joel himself. Upon touring the exhibit before it opened, Billy Joel himself was so overwhelmed that he kept asking: “Where did you get all this stuff?”

Missed the opening? No problem. The exhibition is still hot, and every weekend Ft. Tilden in the Rockaways are buzzing with new faces, sand between toes, and art that doesn’t ask permission. Open every weekend, 12–5 PM, through September 21st.
Hop on the train, ferry, bus, or car, grab your crew, and come get weird by the beach.
There’s painting, sculpture, installations, performances, and the ocean as your backdrop. Come for the art, stay for the waves, leave with sand in your shoes.
This year’s exhibition features an exciting group of artists whose work transforms the unique spaces of Ft. Tilden into a dynamic site for experimentation and discovery. Studio 7 Gallery, Fort Tilden, Rockaway Beach Info@4heads.org
New exhibits will be announced soon and are set to open Thanksgiving weekend.

In 1988, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise – and it was compelling. It stood out amid the flash and bombast that defined the late 80’s. The now classic recording combined folk, blues, and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies. Their ability to communicate volumes before the lyrics kick in defines an enduring career. Where most bands chase trends, the Junkies have stayed their course, maintaining a low-impact excavation of melody and evocative language delivered sotto voce in singer Margo Timmins’ feathery alto. They’re appearing at The Landmark on Main Street, Port Washington September 21. Tix: $65-$85 516-767-6444 or email boxoffice@ landmarkonmainstreet.org

Drawing their name from Def Leppard’s fifth studio album (which debuted at No. 1 on both the UK Albums Chart and the U.S. Billboard 200), ADRENALIZE – The Ultimate Def Leppard Experience recreates the chart-topping, chestthumping anthems that made Def Leppard the iconic and dominant force in arena rock of the ‘80s and beyond.
You’ll hear the hook-laden radio and MTV megahits like “Foolin’”, “Rock of Ages,” “Photograph,” “Hysteria,” “Rocket,” “Animal,” “Armageddon It,” “Love Bites,” and “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” along with deep cuts like “Wasted,” “High ‘n’ Dry,” and “Switch 625!”
No rock band epitomized the spirit of the ‘80s more than Def Leppard. Fusing the hard edge of heavy metal to a melodic pop sensibility, the British rockers dominated that decade with two classic albums—1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteriawhose massive sales were fueled by the band’s near-constant presence on MTV.
They’re bringing their show to The Suffolk Theater in Riverhead on November 7th.

“Bill & Ted” co-stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reunite to play Estragon and Vladmir – friends searching for meaning in an absurd world in this fall’s hottest ticket, “Waiting for Godot.” Samuel Beckett’s absurdist “tragic comedy” is reimagined by cutting-edge director Jamie Lloyd (“Sunset Blvd.”). It costars Brandon J. Dirden and Michael Patrick Thornton. Previews begin September 13. (Hudson Theatre) godotbroadway.com

“Good friends. Bad taste” is the tagline for the starry revival of French playwright Yasmina Reza’s 1996 Tony Award-winning comedy “Art.” Bobby Cannavale, James Corden and Neil Patrick Harris star as lifelong friends whose relationship unravels after one man purchases an extravagantly expensive all-white painting. What starts as a disagreement over aesthetics spirals quickly into a fierce and funny clash of egos and revelations of longburied truths. Translated from the French by Christopher Hampton and directed by Scott Ellis. (Music Box Theatre) artonbroadway.com
Two-time Tony-winner Victoria Clark stars in James Graham’s (“Ink”) new play, “Punch,” adapted from Jacob Dunne’s true-life memoir “Right from Wrong” and directed by Adam Penford. The drama concerns a young man (played by Will Harrison) who, after a fatal mistake lands him in prison, finds salvation with the
parents (played by Clark and Sam Robards) of the boy he murdered. Described as a “wrenching examination of justice, redemption and survival,” the drama premiered at the Nottingham Playhouse. Previews begin September 9. (Samuel J. Friedman Theatre) manhattantheatreclub.com/shows/2025-26-season/punch/ Joshua Henry, Caissie Levy, Brandon Uranowitz, Colin Donnell and Nichelle Lewis (“The Wiz”) headline the powerhouse cast that soared in the Encores! revival of “Ragtime” under Lear deBessonet’s sensitive direction last season. Terrance McNally adapted E.L. Doctorow’s great novel of turn-of-the-century America, and Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens wrote the anthem-filled score to this stirring examination of the interwoven lives of Black Americans, immigrants and white elites in one of the great musicals of the last century. Following its sold-out run this summer, Playwrights Horizons/SohoRep’s production of Jordan Tannahill’s provocative, transgressive play, “Prince Faggot,” returns offBroadway. Directed by Shayok Misha Chowdhury, the play features an indelible ensemble of queer, trans and non-binary performers who comment on the story through the lens of their own lives. The thought-proving piece intends to shock – and illuminate – as it images England’s current 11-year-old Prince George (John McCrea) at age 18 as a gay student in a sexual and romantic relationship with Dev (Mihir Kumar). The heir to the British throne must navigate the expectations of his royal parents as he matures into his own sexuality and identity. Because of nudity and graphic sexual acts, the audience must lock their cellphones in Yonder pouches. (Studio Seaview) https://studioseaview. com/show/prince-faggot/

There will come a season when Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez will not spend any time on the injured list. However, it won’t be 2025 as he injured his thumb sliding head-first into second base to ensure getting a double. This will mark the third time in three years that Alvarez will require thumb surgery.
Hand injuries are going to be part of a catcher’s job description. What is frustrating is this one was preventable. Mets coaches should have been working with Alvarez from the time he was in the minor leagues to slide into a base feet-first since that reduces injury risk even if it may result in being thrown out more often.
The best news for beleaguered Mets fans last month was that first baseman Pete Alonso set the club’s record for career home runs when he smacked his 253rd surpassing the previous recordholder, Darryl Strawberry. While Pete deserves the kudos,
as well as a lucrative long-term contract from Mets CEO Steve Cohen, the occasion was a stark reminder that the Mets have not been particularly good at developing power hitters.

Prime Video has released a six-part documentary on the 2024 Jets titled “The Home Team; NY Jets.” Whereas HBO’s “Hard Knocks” looks at a football team with the emphasis on when the players are in uniform and occasionally eavesdrops on their off-field lives, “The Home Team; NY Jets” does the reverse. We learn about the worries about family, finances, and health which confronted current and former Jets as Quennen Williams, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Allen Lazard, Tyler Conklin, Chuck Clark, and CJ Mosley. Given how miserable the 2024 season was for the Jets, these players who were willing to open their homes to the filmmakers

deserve plaudits for their bravery.
ESPN made a splashy launch of their direct-toconsumer app designed for those consumers who eschew cable and satellite television providers. ESPN contracted with the MTA to transform an “E” train into the “ESPN train” last month at the World Trade Center. Leading the fanfare was the New York Giants G-Line Band, and a slew of mascots including Mr. And Mrs. Met. ESPN executives, led by CEO Jimmy Pitaro, rode the train to Spring Street. Pitaro, who is a huge Yankees fan, showed he was a good sport by posing with Mr. & Mrs. Met. The best bargain in professional sports, the US Open Fan Week, drew over 237,000 spectators to the grounds of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow Park. There was no admission to charge for attending the qualifiers which featured some players who have

had success in past Opens. One such player was Chris Eubanks who had a good run in the 2023 US Open Men’s Singles competition. Injuries in 2024 hurt his rankings. Unfortunately for Eubanks, he lost in three sets the first round of the 2025 qualifiers. Fans were also able to watch the mixed doubles matches free at Louis Armstrong Stadium. They cheered for the American duo of Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula but is as often the case with American tennis players, they failed to win the big trophy.
The US Open is as well known for cuisine as it is for the best tennis in the world. There are enough choices to please even the most selective eaters. If you were watching your calories, you could enjoy salads from the Nourish Spot. They are also known for their lemonades and smoothies. The best bang for the buck from the concessions on the grounds of the Billie Jean King Tennis Center was the thinly sliced prime rib sandwiches ($25) and sliced Angus beef steak sandwiches ($28) from Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors. For a more relaxed and upscale dining experience, Champions, located in Arthur Ashe Stadium, featured the tasty porterhouse from Manhattan’s Benjamin Steakhouse.

The WNBA’s defending champions, the New
Liberty, have been struggling since getting off to a 9-0 start to the 2025 season. Their two big stars, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionesco, both got hurt in August. Their sharpshooting forward, Jonquel Jones, missed several games earlier in the year, and has played well since her return. The problem is the Liberty bench is not deep enough to make up for the loss of Stewart and Ionescu.

Netflix has not-so-quietly gotten into the live sports streaming biz. They began the year by acquiring the presentation rights to the WWE’s “Monday Night Raw.” They are also trying to fill the void in boxing telecasts now that both HBO and Showtime have left the ring game. They are counting on Canelo Alvarez, who was scheduled to fight Terence Crawford this month, to be their face for boxing.
CBS Sports moved sure-to-be NFL Hall of Famer JJ Watt from its “NFL Today” studio show to the game broadcast booth where he will be Ian Eagle’s analyst partner. The pair showed immediate chemistry doing last month’s Eagles-Jets pre-season game. They seamlessly called the action and informed viewers about the young players who were vying for NFL jobs. They also nicely mixed in humor and pop culture references.
The Anti-Defamation League held an online seminar with former Red Sox and Yankees infielder Kevin Youkilis last month. Youkilis, who is Jewish, will be a coach with Team Israel in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. He stated that he expects protests when Team Israel plays at Miami’s LoanDepot Stadium, but that his players will not be intimidated.
SUPERIOR ITALIAN FOOD AT PREVITI & PAPAZZIO

Sometimes, the best food finds are completely by accident. Recently, we were looking for a good Italian Restaurant in Mineola, and wandered onto Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park.
Our eye caught a small Pizzeria in the corner of a strip center. We stopped, and are we glad we did.
Whenever I go to a pizzeria, there is my standard go to items that I order. Here, this was very hard to do as the counter was filled with a dazzling assortment of different pizzas, exotic and inviting.
We started with a chicken bacon ranch slice. A very big slice completely covered with tender chicken. And the best part, unlike some places, the Ranch that melted in was still somewhat liquid and tasted like Ranch. Too often the CBR is dry and the Ranch is absorbed by the cheese. Also outstanding was the bbq chicken slice, again covered with chicken. Only $4.75. They have nearly 25 different gourmet pizza selections, and I doubt you could go wrong with any of them. Did I mention the grandma pizza was outstanding?
The food was so good, we went back a second time a few days ago. A winner

again. A slice of white was on point, and every day they have a pie of the day.
I love garlic knots, what good Italian doesn’t? Six for $4 was a good price, but they were ENORMOUS. Twice the size of what you get at some other places. And they were LOADED with garlic, no middle of the road here. This is garlic lovers paradise. Their pasta selections are outstanding, nearly 30 choices and all for the amazing price of $15-$21 each. We had my go to favorite, rigatoni carbonara. A wise choice. Delectable. An order of linguini with clam sauce was also a big winner. Great prices, great food, and best of all, a very personable staff. They smile, joke and help you with any questions. And they know how to flip a pie!
Amiri leads this team of merry men. He’s pictured here with an assortment of different pizza slices. As I write this, I wish the picture was edible.

On Saturday, July 26th, Callum made his Grand Ole Opry debut after being invited by country chart-topper Dustin Lynch. “It was a really cool moment to be invited and a real honor” said Callum of the invite. “The last time I was at the Opry I wouldn’t even stand in the circle around the microphone, I wanted to wait until I was invited to stand in that circle. And now, I stood there and sang one of my songs.”
Callum has always been immersed in country music, growing up listening to everything from the 1960s classics to today’s hits. In addition to his music career, Callum is an accomplished actor with roles in 13 films and television series. His credits include Netflix’s record-breaking hit drama Virgin River, where he plays young Everett, and the live-action adaptation of One Piece, portraying the fanfavorite character Smoker—part of one of the platform’s most-watched series.

Over the years, Sheppard has amassed an impressive 22 #1 hits, including timeless favorites like “Last Cheater’s Waltz,” “I’ll Be Coming Back for More,” “Party Time,” “Only One You,”“I Loved ‘Em Every One,”“Slow Burn,” and more while celebrating his 50th Anniversary Tour throughout the country.

American Idol season 20 winner and emerging artist Noah Thompson officially kicked off his Kids Like Me Tour at the Grand Ole Opry, marking his second performance on the iconic stage. The tour celebrates Thompson’s breakout EP Kids Like Me, a heartfelt collection inspired by his Eastern Kentucky roots and true life stories of struggle and perseverance.
Alongside the tour, Thompson released his new single, “Find ‘Em In A Bar,” written by Thompson, Jon Stark and Adam James. The song first caught fire on social media when Noah posted a clip featuring his grandma, captioned “true story”—quickly racking up views and winning over fans with its humor and authenticity. It continues to grow every day.
The Kids Like Me Tour features a mix of fan favorites. Each show promises an intimate, storytelling-driven night that highlights the grit, honesty, and charm that have made Thompson one of country music’s fastest rising voices. For more information and tickets, visit www.noahthompsonmusic.com.

Brooklyn hardcore stars BIOHAZARD unleash their explosive new single “Eyes On Six” from their upcoming album ‘Divided We Fall,’ their first studio release in over a decade, out October 17th via BLKIIBLK. Reuniting the original lineup, the album delivers a blistering statement of unity amid chaos. “Eyes On Six” arrives alongside a powerful new music video, Produced, mixed, and mastered by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Deftones), ‘Divided We Fall’ captures BIOHAZARD at their most raw, relentless, and unifying. The album blends the band’s unmistakable fusion of hardcore, metal, and streetwise groove with a sharpened edge for a fractured modern world delivering a powerful reminder of why BIOHAZARD remains one of the most vital and influential bands in heavy music.

The Charlatans UK shared a video for their current single, “We Are Love.”
Last month, the band kicked off a new era with the news of their 14th studio album, We Are Love, out Friday, October 31, via BMG.
“We Are Love” is a celebratory statement of intent, an urgent, limber, clattering love song to the human race. Propelled forward by driving drums and anthemic guitar, frontman Tim Burgess describes it as “like an open-top car ride in the credits of your favorite movie, driving along the coast to somewhere amazing.” One of the first tracks to emerge as they were writing, it became a pathfinder for the record.
An eight-year gap between albums is the longest ever for one of the UK’s most enduring bands. A combination of covid, solo projects, life’s complexities and the fact that its five members - Tim Burgess (vocals) Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar), Tony Rogers (keyboards) and Pete Salisbury (drums) - live scattered across Europe, meant that it took longer than usual for the stars to align at the right place, right time, right vibe. They took the time to carefully select a recording A-team of production duo Dev Hynes and Fred Macpherson, plus producer Stephen Street alongside a list of engineers, mixers and collaborators that reads like a who’s who of alt rock greatness.
MAROON 5 NEW STUDIO
Three-time GRAMMY Awardwinning band Maroon 5 released their eighth studio album, Love Is Like (Interscope).
To accompany the new album, the band will embark on a national U.S. arena tour that will kick off this fall. Tickets are on sale now. The 23-date Live Nation promoted run will visit major markets coast to coast, including a hometown show at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and a stop at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden November 19th, before concluding on November 25 in Detroit.

To mark the album’s release, the band has also unveiled the music video for the standout title track,“Love Is Like,” featuring hip hop legend Lil Wayne. The new single delivers a dynamic and high-energy anthem complimented by Lil Wayne’s distinctive flow.
Accompanying the track is a playful music video directed by Aerin Moreno (Tate McRae, Tyla) that follows the band through a whirlwind day on the streets of New York City.

Following the release of his first solo single in more than 21 years, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and founding member of the Eagles, Bernie Leadon drops an emotional, nostalgic video for “Too Many Memories.”
The music video is a moving, visual time capsule, depicting Leadon’s life through a series of milestones and defining moments, including early band days and intimate snapshots with the Eagles, and honoring those who shaped him. “Too Many Memories” is a reflection of a life lived fully without regret and a tribute to those who stood beside Leadon over the years.
“I dug out a bunch of old photos of my life and career for this video, which was
actually a lot of fun to go through. I’m sure everyone has their own batch of photos they feel strongly connected to.
And a song or two to go with them,” Leadon said. “Looking back at photos, and different moments throughout our lives, so many memories, stories and feelings come back to us, sometimes connected to a song or a similar experience. It’s not that we literally have ‘Too Many’ memories, it’s that some of them may not be resolved, that we’ve left something undone or unsaid. The song’s conclusion is that we really should leave most of the troubling things behind, let them dissolve.
