GOODSPEED MUSICALS

2027 season we make musicals you love. INTO THE WOODS

APRIL 30 - JULY 4

Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim | Book by James Lapine Originally Directed on Broadway by James Lapine | Orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick

Fairy tales aren’t always what they seem… When the Baker and his Wife wish for a child, they discover that the Witch’s curse stands in their way. To break it, they venture into the woods, crossing paths with Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Little Red Riding Hood and a host of colorful characters. After stories intertwine and wishes come true, things take an unexpected turn. With a brilliant score by Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods is a clever, captivating look beyond Happily Ever After. | Age Rating: PG

Come “Back in Time” for big music, big laughs, and the unmistakable sound of the ’80s! She’s devoted to her five-year plan for the family business. He misses the guitar he ditched for the corporate ladder. They both get a second shot at their dreams and must decide “If This Is It” for their careers—or if “The Power of Love” wins. Jam-packed with Huey Lewis megahits like “Workin’ For A Livin’,” “Stuck With You,” and “Hip to Be Square,” it’s a big-hearted rom-com bursting with energy and nostalgic fun. Age Rating: PG-13

MISSION STATEMENT Goodspeed Musicals’ mission is to share the joy of musical theatre; to delight, inspire, and challenge audiences; to nurture creators; and to build and support a broad, diverse, and inclusive community.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The land on which Goodspeed Musicals is located in East Haddam and Chester, CT is the ancestral land of at least three tribes of Native Americans—the Wangunk, the Mohegan and the Nehantic tribes. We understand that the land which is now Haddam and East Haddam was purchased from the native people in 1662 for thirty coats—worth about $100. We acknowledge those native Americans and the loss of their homeland—land on which we thrive today.

DEDICATED PERFORMANCES Goodspeed Musicals is pleased to offer members and friends an extraordinary opporunity to support the finest musical theatre while providing a once-in-a-lifetime tribute to a friend or loved one. If you are interested in dedicating a performance to honor someone, please contact Rebekah Moses at 860-615-0365 or rmoses@goodspeed.org.

VOLUNTEER AT GOODSPEED The Goodspeed Guild is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Goodspeed Musicals’ operations and productions. Since 1975 it has provided services to artists, patrons, and staff on a year-round basis, while offering its members the opportunity to become part of the behind-the scenes activities at Goodspeed. To find out about volunteer opportunities that fit your interests and schedule, visit our website at goodspeed.org or contact goodspeedguild@goodspeed.org. GOODSPEED MUSICALS | 2026 SEASON 13
