Dear Friends,

Welcome to the historic New Haven Lawn Club and the 2026 Goodspeed Musicals Gala & Auction!

We are thrilled to gather with you this evening to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of creativity that defines Goodspeed Musicals and to honor the work of Lord Lloyd Webber KG. The Goodspeed Award recognizes individuals who have made an exceptional impact on the art form of musical theatre, and we can think of no one whose achievements in the field exceed those of Lord Lloyd Webber KG.

This evening is particularly meaningful in light of our shared history. Goodspeed produced Lord Lloyd Webber’s self-proclaimed “favourite musical” when we produced By Jeeves at The Terris Theatre and later on Broadway.

And of course, we celebrate you this evening as well—our generous and passionate community of supporters. Your belief in our mission allows us to continue creating the magic that only live theatre can offer—from revivals of genre defining work like Jesus Christ Superstar to World Premieres like The Snow Goose coming up in August. Your support this evening makes it all possible.

Welcome to Goodspeed Musicals 2026 Gala & Auction.

We are delighted to gather with you this evening at the beautiful New Haven Lawn Club to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Lord Lloyd Webber KG. His remarkable body of work has shaped generations of theatergoers and artists alike, and it is a true privilege to honor his outstanding contribution to musical theatre.

Your presence here tonight means so much—not only to us, but to the entire Goodspeed Musicals community. Your support helps ensure that Goodspeed continues to nurture new works, celebrate musical theater’s rich heritage, and inspire audiences for years to come.

GOODSPEED’S MISSION

Goodspeed Musicals’ mission is to share the joy of musical theatre; to delight, inspire, and challenge audiences; to nurture creators; and to build and support a broad, diverse, and inclusive community.

AboutAndrew Lloyd Webber has composed the scores of some of the world’s most famous musicals. His shows have run continuously in London’s West End for 50 years and ran for 43 uninterrupted years on Broadway.

When the original Sunset Boulevard joined School of Rock, CATS, and The Phantom of the Opera he equalled Rodgers & Hammerstein’s record of four shows running simultaneously on Broadway. He is one of the select group of artists with EGOT status, having received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards.

In 2022, Andrew Lloyd Webber partnered with Michael Harrison to produce new productions of existing work and his future musicals. His latest, The Illusionist, will be produced in London in 2027.

Lloyd Webber owns six London theatres including the iconic London Palladium and Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Reopened in July 2021, the latter was completely restored and renovated at a cost of over £60 million. This was one of the biggest projects ever undertaken by a private theatre owner in recent times. His mantra is that every penny of profit made from his theatres is ploughed back into the buildings for their conservation and development.

Lloyd Webber is passionate about the importance of musical education and diversity in the arts. Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation provides 30 performing arts scholarships every year for talented students with financial need, and supports a range of projects such as the Music In Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST).

Andrew Lloyd Webber has composed music for globally significant moments. Most recently, he was asked to compose “Make a Joyful Noise,” the anthem for the Coronation of King Charles III.

Andrew Lloyd Webber was knighted in 1992, created an honorary life peer in 1997, and made a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter by King Charles III in 2024. Founded in 1348, this is the highest British civilian honour. Andrew Lloyd Webber is the only person from the arts in the Garter’s history granted this personal honour by the monarch.

1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, who will confirm the sale by signing a live auction form that constitutes a legal contract to buy.

2. The auctioneer reserves the right to settle any and all disputes, complaints, misunderstandings, errors, and sales at his discretion. The auctioneer’s decision will be final.

Save time at the end of the night and avoid possible long check-out lines! Here’s how it works: If you haven’t already, please visit the check-in tables. We will securely register your credit card information and keep a running tab of your auction purchases for the evening. Your card will be charged 3 to 5 days after the event for any auction winnings or donations. At the end of the evening, simply return to the check-out table and pick up the certificates for the items you have won.

You and up to 9 guests will begin your afternoon with an exclusive guided tour of the historic Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port, MA, hosted by Ted Kennedy, Jr. and Kiki Kennedy.
