Global Heat: Summer Looks Inspired by the World’s Style Capitals

Although traveling to Bali or Mykonos might not be possible for everyone, nothing is stopping you from bringing a bit of Bali and Mykonos straight home! Rocking summer looks inspired by the world’s capitals is a fun idea for true fashion lovers. From the sun-soaked streets of Rio to the breezy resorts of Bali, it’s time to throw on some fabrics and accessories you’ve never thought of rocking. Here are five standout summer pieces inspired by destinations across the globe.

TRAVEL-INSPIRED FASHION TRENDS: TOP 5 GLOBAL HEAT PIECES

If you ever wondered what to wear in Bali, it’s time to throw on a straw hat. Oversized hats protect you from heat and unwanted UV rays while looking chic. They are essential for lounging poolside, sipping cocktails, or strolling through the city. Aim for woven fabrics paired with neutral tones to pair effortlessly with linen dresses and breezy kaftans. A nude lipstick will round up the look and make you look romantic and playful.

Nothing captures the vibrant energy of Rio like a bright, flowy skirt. Tropical or floral prints are a must-have in your closet, especially for summertime. You can pair up your favorite skirt with a simple bandeau top and your favorite sandals. Head out to a rooftop bar or restaurant and show everyone how Rio De Janeiro is done. Finish off the look with bright red lipstick for that ’boom’ moment.

1. THE STATEMENT STRAW HAT – INSPIRED BY BALI
2. FUN VIBRANT SKIRT- RIO DE JANEIRO STYLE

3. WHITE LINEN DRESSMYKONOS ESSENTIAL

Mykonos glam fashion looks aren’t about overdressing, but more so about mastering the art of simple elegance. A white linen dress is the perfect summer choice for ladies who love classic looks. Opt for a subtle cut and breathable material that enhances your waist. Finish off the look with strappy sandals and your favorite jewelry for day and nighttime wear.

4. MINI BEADED BAG - INSPIRED BY MARRAKECH

How about a bit of fun?! An embroidered bag reminds of Marrakech’s artisan markets and leaves people around you mesmerized by your bold approach. It’s the perfect pairing with neutral tones or monochrome sets, adding texture, history, and personality to your summer ensemble. Vibrant purple or orange should be in your wardrobe in 2025.

5. METALLIC SANDALS - SANTORINI

Who doesn’t love to slip into a pair of metallic sandals? Think gold, bronze, or silver straps that catch the light with every step. If you ever wondered how to dress like a local abroad, it’s time to enjoy a bit of a Santorini moment. Inspired by the elegance of Greek nightlife, these sandals strike the balance between comfort and sophistication. Comfy and perfect for long hours of walking and enjoying the city view.

SUMMER IS HERE, AND IT’S BOLDER THAN EVER

Summer fashion from around the world captures the spirit of summer in every corner of the world. Which one out of these five essentials is going to find its way into your wardrobe?

SWIMWEAR X STREETWEAR

COLLABS: WHAT’S HOT

Swimwear was once reserved for pool decks and sandy beaches, but nowadays, it’s a true fashion statement. Trends have shifted, and rocking your comfortable one-piece bikini needs to be updated.

3. SPEEDO X SUPREME: SWIM MODE

Right now, this collab is all over TikTok and is bolder than ever. Known for its bold patterns and dramatic pigmented red color schemes, Supreme is often worn by men and women who want to be seen. To enjoy the 90s-inspired style, make sure you:

• Wear a staple pair of Speedo x Supreme bikinis or shorts with an oversized short-sleeve button-down.

• Put on your favorite chunky dad sneakers.

Here are the brands doing it right, and how you can style each collab to look effortless all summer.

Swimwear streetwear collab items can be worn to festivals, live shows, brunch spots, and casual summer nightouts. The right piece is sleek, functional, and fashion-forward.

SWIMWEAR X STREETWEAR COLLABS: OUR TOP 4 HOT PICKS

1. NIKE SWIM X STÜSSY: ATHLESUIRE EDITION

If you’re a sporty person, you probably own several Nike pieces in your closet. Ladies who love to feel comfortable and yet want to be able to go for a quick run will love this collab. Stüssy’s surf-skate DNA pairs effortlessly with Nike Swim’s technical edge. Think bold logo taping, neon piping, mesh overlays, and UV-protective fabrics that serve both sport and statement. Here’s how to style it:

Wear the Nike x Stüssy one-piece as a bodysuit under baggy cargo and chunky sneakers. Throw on a comfy and loose windbreaker for that retro ’90s fit. Finish off with their colab bag, which will come in handy for long hours after work.

2. FRANKIES BIKINI X ALO YOGA: LUXURIOUS

This collab screams ”hot girl wellness retreat.”

The entire collection is filled with soft ribbed bikinis, stretchy swim sets, and coordinated athleisure pieces that transition perfectly from hot yoga to rooftop bars and cocktails. The best part? It’s stretchy, minimalistic, flattering, and comfortable.

• Put on a wrap bikini top paired with high-waisted beige linen pants.

• Throw on wedge platform sandals to appear taller and feel more confident.

• Wear your hair in a low bun or braids to keep your hair away from your face when tanning.

• Vibrant neon shades will protect you from heavy UV rays while completing the 90s look.

• Throw on some socks and sandals for that unapologetically cool streetwear moment.

• Finish off the look with Speedo x Supreme goggles or a swim cap.

4.

PUMA X BALMAIN: LIMITLESS

THE URBAN SWIMWEAR LOOKS ARE CALLING!

Fashion swimwear trends don’t have to be hard to style; just pick your favorite out of the bunch. Adjust the color scheme to your liking and voila, you’ll be good to go! So, which pool-to-party collab are you vibing with this summer?

When luxury fashion meets streetwear, you get Puma x Balmain, the best of both worlds! One is a sporty fashion brand, and the other one is as luxurious as it gets. This collection includes sleek athleisure pieces like form-fitting tracksuits, logo-laden accessories (a lot of gold), and bold sneakers that make a statement on the streets or at the poolside while you’re sipping cocktails. To make yourself stand out, make sure you:

• Pair a Puma x Balmain tracksuit with comfy sneakers.

• Tuck a simple shirt into shorts with pockets for additional support.

• An oversized handbag will keep the glamour casual while allowing you to store all your essentials.

Neon Nostalgia: ’90s & Y2K Throwbacks in Highlighter Hues

Bright, bold, and unapologetically extradoes this sound like a little bit of you? Neon is making a comeback in 2025. Ever since the wild 2000s and true pop icons, festivals have been inspired by these iconic trends.

Start strong with the ultimate neon power duo: glowing eyeliner and neon dress combo. Whether you go for lime green or a hot pink, you can’t go wrong with your look. Perfect for dancing the night away and making a statement at parties. Finish off the look with a fluorescent orange or UV-reactive eyeliner to make your eyes pop. Perfect under festival lights.

This summer, highlighter hues are taking over festival grounds and sunset parties. Ready to glow up? Here are some statement items that everyone can pull off, perfect for rave and festival fashion moments!

Eyewear is essential for raves and festivals. Sunset party outfit ideas can be minimalistic. Not only do these sunnies protect your eyes from unwanted UV rays, but they also give you a bit of that va-vavoom effect (who is she moment). Tinted lenses in colors like acid yellow, fuchsia, or tangerine add a retro edge to your outfit. Opt for slim Y2K frames or cat-shaped eyewear to enhance your eye shape.

1. NEON SUMMER DRESS + GLOWING EYELINER
2. NEON PARTY SUNGLASSES

4. ORANGE CROP TOP

Fitness enthusiasts and gym lovers - this one’s for you! It’s time to show off your abs and make a statement with a bright top and some denim jeans or even skirts. This summer, orange is the new black when speaking of neon clothing. Make sure you opt for lightweight breathable materials so you can dance the night off and not break a sweat. Enjoy your 2000s Britney moment and have all eyes on you.

3. NEON SANDALS OR HEELS

Level up your footwear game with a pair of neon sandals that were a staple during the ’90s and 2000s fashion trends. Make sure they’re comfortable if you plan on dancing the night away. The best part about vibrant neon sandals? Your outfit can be plain and boring (monochromatic), but the shoes will steal the show and make it 10x more intriguing. A fluorescent orange or vibrant green is a must-have this season.

5. THE SUMMER SKIRT

Balance all that neon with a breezy summer skirt. Whether it’s a pleated mini, a mesh layer, or a bold print moment, skirts bring movement and fun to the mix. Throw on your favorite jewelry and a mini bag to make a cohesive look perfect for day and night wear.

IT’S TIME TO GLOW!

Neon Nostalgia is all about confidence, color, and a little chaos. Whether you’re headed to a beach party, rooftop rave, or weekend festival, these pieces will have you glowing long after the sunset. Let your outfit do the talking and enjoy your summer in style!

Grill & Chill With The Ultimate Backyard BBQ Guide

Smoky ribs and chicken wings sizzling on a grill with char marks

The magic in backyard barbecuing is undeniable. The smoky scent in the summer breeze, the satisfying sizzle of something hot hitting the grill, and the low hum of conversation over chilled drinks – this is the charm of outdoor cooking. You might be a grill master with several years of experience, or maybe you’re just starting off in the world of grilling. Regardless, this guide provides techniques, inspiration, and delectable ideas for your next backyard BBQ.

Gear, Grill & Game Plan

First things first: figuring out the right grill. Charcoal adds a smoky flavor that’s hard to beat, especially if you use lump charcoal or briquettes(via webstaurantstore). Choosing to grill with charcoal gives you a hands-on experience and adds an aromatic edge to the process. It’s also the perfect go-to for the purist who enjoys tending to the fire. Gas grills, on the other hand, are great for their speed and control. With the push of a button, you can adjust the heat with precision for burgers or skewers and have

it cooked in minutes. Pellet grills are also gaining popularity in barbecue grilling, all thanks to their digital controls and use of wood-pellet fuel, which provides consistent results and a wood-fired flavor.

Regardless of what setup you have fixed, a few tools are absolutely non-negotiable. According to The Week, you should have long-handled tongs, a sturdy spatula, a grill brush, and an instant-read meat thermometer within arm’s reach. For charcoal users, a chimney starter is a must-have, and for safety, it’s always a good idea to have heat-resistant gloves around. Add a good cooler full of ice and drinks, and a folding table for prep, and you’re in business. Before your guests arrive, make sure you clean your grates and designate cooking zones – direct heat for searing, and indirect heat for slow cooking. A spray bottle of water should be close by to tame flare-ups, and hey, having a fire extinguisher nearby is never a bad idea. The goal is to cook with confidence and control, and have no burnt hot dogs – unless that’s your thing.

Techniques and Tips from the Pros

If you know Bobby Flay, you know he has a good command of the grill. However, he has rules, and these rules are the secret to his mastery. It’s simple, one flip, no fuss. Let the meat sit, do not poke or press, and most importantly, trust the flame. Flay is a staunch fan of hardwood charcoal because it adds flavor (via people). He always starts with a chimney, never a lighter fluid. His mantra? Keep the lid closed and let the smoke do the talking.

Chef Michael Symon has a similar philosophy, treating the grill as both stove and oven (via Tasting Table). To him, it’s technique over recipes. As long as you have the timing, temperature, and heat zones correct, you can confidently improvise from there. A good grill master does more than just cook, they adapt to the flame, the weather, and the cut of meat.

A tip that’s often overlooked: let your food rest for a bit after grilling. According to Martha Stewart, letting your meat rest for ten minutes allows juices to redistribute, turning a regular steak into a masterpiece. You also can’t underestimate the power of a marinade or dry rub. Salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, brown sugar, and chili flakes are the backbone of the most delicious grilled meat.

What to Grill

The classics are classics for a reason. Juicy burgers with melted cheese, sticky BBQ chicken wings, ribs that fall from the bones, and perfectly charred hot dogs are the heart of many American cookouts. Brisket smoked low and slow holds a sacred spot in BBQ. Go ahead and toss on a corn-on-the-cob, perhaps even glazed with chili butter, and you’re in barbeque heaven. But grilling is also about pushing beyond boundaries. For one, Korean BBQ-style short ribs with sesame oil and soy marinade bring a bold umami flavor (via The Kitchn). And Jamaican jerk chicken, marinated in Scotch bonnet, allspice, and thyme? An absolute must-try. Tandoori chicken grilled in yogurt spice delivers aroma and taste, much like the one highlighted in Simply Recipes. And if you want something simpler but equally flavorful, try grilled street corn topped with crumbled cotija, lime, mayonnaise, and chile powder (via Love & Lemons) Vegetarians and vegans get to chime in on the grill talk, too. They know that BBQ jackfruit

sandwiches are a strong replacement for the pulled pork texture, especially with sweet and smoky sauce. The Minimalist Baker recommends seasoning them well and simmering them until tender to enjoy them best. Grilled cauliflower steaks with chimichurri are both hearty and satisfying, while marinated and flame-seared portobello mushrooms make a satisfying meatless burger option. For a little twist, throw some halved peaches or pineapple rings on the grill until they are caramelized, and you’ll have a tasty topping for your ice cream.

Regional BBQ Styles

Every region of the U.S. has its own BBQ styles, and exploring these staples adds some depth to any cookout menu – so of course, we have to talk about them.

Texas BBQ is beef-centric. The star is the brisket, usually seasoned with salt and pepper, and cooked low and slow over oak or mesquite. If sauce is added at all, it’s usually just as a side. Kansas City BBQ, in contrast, is all about the thick, sweet tomato sauce slathered over everything from the ribs to the burnt ends. (via Girl Cooks World)

In the Carolinas, pork reigns supreme. In Eastern Carolina, whole-hog barbeque is preferred and often eaten with vinegar-pepper sauce, while in South Carolina, the meat lovers lean more towards a mustard-based sauce called “Carolina Gold.” As for Memphis, BBQ is all about pork ribs, it’s dry-rubbed and served with sauce on the side (via Girl Cooks World). These regional favorites are a treasure trove for the curious griller.

A Global Grill Tour, No Passport Needed

We have to discuss global BBQ traditions too, because you absolutely have to try Argentinean asado. It’s a process where meat is cooked slowly for hours over a wood fire, and it’s often served with chimichurri. Then there’s South Africa’s braai, a celebration of smoky meats, where everything from boerewors sausages to lamb chops hits the grill.

In Japan, skewered chicken grilled over binchotan charcoal, popularly known as yakitori, delivers a delicate smoky flavor that’s definitely worth trying. In the Middle East, kebabs, rubbed with cumin, garlic, salt, and pepper, are both easy to prepare and easy to cook. And Brazilian

churrasco? That’s a full-on meat fest carved fresh from skewers. It goes without saying: drawing inspiration from around the world gives your backyard cookout an edge over others.

Sides, Sips, and Sweet Finishes

While the grill might be the star, the sides make the meal. Think creamy coleslaw, grilled Mexican street corn, watermelon feta salad, or even smoked baked beans with bacon.

You also can’t go wrong with Mac and cheese, especially when it’s finished in a cast iron skillet on the grill to achieve that crispy top layer. Grilled flatbread is the perfect go-to for sopping up sauce, while pickled vegetables provide a nice contrast to the meat.

As for drinks, it’s better to keep it light and refreshing. Pick iced tea, lemonade, craft beer, or sparkling water. If you want some alcohol, go for a watermelon mojito, bourbon lemonade, or a smoky mezcal margarita for some extra summer flair.

You can’t forget desserts! Grilled fruit is an easy win – pineapple, peaches, bananas – all caramelize beautifully and pair well with ice cream. You also can’t fail with campfire s’mores, and for a playful twist, a grilled brownie skillet with melting marshmallows on top will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth.

The Chill Factor

A great BBQ is as much about the food as it is about the mood. To set the right mood, string up lights, lay out picnic blankets, and choose a playlist with a mix of classic rock, chill indie, and summer pop.

Hosting tip: prep as much as you can in advance. This allows you to enjoy the party instead of playing short-order cook all day long. Set up a drink station where guests can serve themselves, light some citronella candles to keep the bugs away, and let people mingle at their own pace. At its heart, grilling is about connection. It’s the warm feeling you get from the smell of charcoal on a Sunday evening. It’s passing around plates under the softening twilight. It’s tongs in one hand, a cold drink in the other, and nowhere else you’d rather be.

SUNSET SIPS: Cocktails That Capture the Glow

Imagine this: golden hour stretched across the sky, casting long shadows on clinking glasses. There’s a soft breeze, the hum of music, and the kind of laughter you only hear when the sun dips. The drinks are great, and the mood is even better. Wherever you are enjoying your drink, a well-made cocktail will always leave a lasting impression.

This guide provides you with sunset-inspired cocktails for every vibe, the perfect playlist to enjoy with your cocktails, and those small touches that take your drinks to the next level.

COCKTAILS BY OCCASION

Backyard Bliss

Is it just me, or do backyard gatherings scream laid-back luxury? To capture that soft golden hour vibe, whether it’s at a gathering or just by yourself, try Ree from Food Network’s recipe for frozen sangria. They’re made with seasonal berries, coconut-flavored rum, orange juice, and a splash of rosé.

Another one of my favorite go-tos is the classic mojito. Just muddle some mint leaves, add fresh lime juice and brown sugar, and you’ll have a cheeky, refreshing drink. If you’re looking for something simple yet impressive, try a citrus spritz: mix citrus liqueur, prosecco, a sprig of rosemary, and a dash of grapefruit juice, then serve it over ice.

It’s no surprise that citrus-based cocktails are summer staples. According to Felene, when citrus is combined with alcohol, the citric acid masks the harshness of the alcohol, making the drink smoother and more palatable.

Beach Bonfire

As the sun starts to descend, you might want to switch to a drink that carries a little heat to fit the vibe of the beach bonfire. Made with mezcal, lime, and a hint of agave syrup, mezcal margaritas hit the right spot.

The beach carries a lot of tropical vibes, so

Smoked bourbon cocktail served over ice in a lowball glass, garnished with dried citrus and fresh herbs, on a wooden tray against a dark background.

another drink that matches the occasion is the velvety smooth, creamy, and tangy coconut-lime daiquiri. Or, whip up a rum punch with dark rum, pineapple, orange juice, and a little nutmeg for a subtle kick.

Rooftop Reverie

The lavender gin fizz – made with botanical gin, lavender syrup, and club soda in a coupe glass, topped with dried flower garnish – is perfect for a sunset sip on the rooftop.

The espresso negroni balances bitter and bold – think cold brew, gin, Campari, and a touch of vanilla, for a drink that sets a good mood. And for the ultimate toast of the golden hour, try a spritz infused with elderflower liqueur, lemon, and of course some edible gold flakes. Traditionally, the spritz is seen as a starter drink, something to kick off your evening and whet your appetite for your meal (via Union)

SOUNDS LIKE SUMMER

The perfect cocktail needs its own soundtrack. These days, more and more bartenders play songs to match the vibe of the drinks on the menu.

Paloma + bossa nova: Grapefruit notes meet

the easy sway of Jobim classics.

Coconut daiquiri + tropical beats: Steel drums and synths transport you straight to the islands.

Espresso negroni + chill lo-fi: Smooth and cool with every clink.

FINAL TOUCH

Half the joy of a summer cocktail is the styling. Edible flowers like nasturtiums or pansies have a way of adding a romantic edge to a drink. Salt or sugar rims, particularly when added with citrus zest or chili flakes, can add an interesting twist to a simple drink.

As for glassware, I find that vintage coupes, cut-crystal tumblers, or tinted stemware in amber and blush tones add a certain class to the drink.

A quick tip: For the perfect picture, place your drinks by a window or take them outdoors during golden hour.

SIP SLOW, STAY GOLDEN

Every cocktail tells a story – and in summer, it’s one of light, flavor, and memory. Whether you’re dancing under string lights or swaying in a hammock, may your glass always reflect the sunset.

From beachside flings to fashion face-offs, these reality shows are serving summer vibes.

When the sun goes down and the frozen cocktails are finished, it’s time to dive into another kind of guilty pleasure: reality TV. Retro Heat: The ’90s & 2000s Songs Making a Comeback This Summer

They say everything old is new again – and in 2025, that couldn’t be more true. From rollerblades to trucker hats, and now bump-worthy throwback jams, the ’90s and early 2000s are back in full rotation, proving that the past is the new summer anthem.

But this isn’t just a nostalgic trip down memory lane – it’s a full-blown cultural resurgence fueled by Gen Z, TikTok, and a new wave of artists putting their own spin on the classics. This August, retro heat is in the air, and your summer playlist is about to get a time-traveling glow-up.

Why the Comeback?

The digital world has made it easier than ever for younger audiences to discover and fall in love with music from past decades. TikTok trends, viral dance challenges, and lo-fi edits have all played a role in turning once-forgotten bops into breakout hits again.

Artists like Aaliyah, Brandy, TLC, Nelly, and Destiny’s Child are being reintroduced to a whole new generation through sped-up versions, slowed-down remixes, and Y2K-themed visuals. Even classic pop-punk and early 2000s R&B are finding their way into today’s summer soundtracks.

Tracks Making Waves This Summer

Here are some of the biggest throwback hits making a modern-day splash on TikTok and beyond:

• “Say My Name” – Destiny’s Child

Back with a twist – this track is all over dance challenges and bedroom aesthetic edits.

• “Steal My Sunshine” – LEN

A sunshine-drenched anthem that’s become the soundtrack to beach vlogs and endless summer adventures.

• “Milkshake” – Kelis

Thanks to a viral soundbite and remixes by DJs on SoundCloud, this early 2000s hit is once again bringing all the vibes.

• “Promiscuous” – Nelly Furtado ft. Timbaland

A sultry favorite that’s being reimagined through mashups and new choreography routines.

• “Wherever You Will Go” – The Calling A slowed-down, emotional version of this early 2000s alt-rock hit is becoming a go-to for dreamy, cinematic reels.

New Artists, Old Sounds

Today’s rising stars are also borrowing from the retro playbook – with inspiration clearly drawn from the icons of the past:

• PinkPantheress and Chappell Roan are infusing Y2K aesthetics and production styles into their visuals and tracks.

• Tyla’s smooth blend of R&B and pop nods to the late ’90s with her polished, rhythmic delivery.

The TikTok Factor

TikTok has single-handedly resurrected songs that hadn’t touched radio waves in over a decade. It’s not just nostalgia – it’s a movement. Users are soundtracking their skate clips, beach days, and pool parties with everything from Britney Spears deep cuts to Ashanti singalongs. Even Cassie’s “Me & U” and Mya’s “Case of the

Ex” are making unexpected rounds, reminding us why those early 2000s beats hit so right during a golden-hour cruise.

Retro Heat Is the Vibe

This summer, the hottest accessory is a killer throwback playlist. Whether you’re dancing at a rooftop party, filming your next reel, or just catching the sunset with friends, the sounds of the ’90s and 2000s are here to set the mood.
