Hello & Welcome! Growing up one of my all-time favorite cartoons was “The Jetsons”. My fascination of flying cars and futuristic gadgets let my imagination go beyond the limits and that fascination provided the inspiration for “The Futuristic Issue” of this months magazine. This issue will introduce you to the advancements in technology relating to fashion, lifestyle, and music. Let’s face it, even though cars haven’t defied the laws of gravity... yet, the futuristic flavor in this months issue of The G.O.O.D.S Magazine have defied the law of fabulous. From Intimacy 2.0 Dress that turns transparent according to how you’re feeling about the people around you to the Chainmail Dress that may have been inspired by medieval armor but screams futuristic fahtionista. But even with all of the future of fashion in this issue The G.O.O.D.S Magazine hasn’t forgot about the present. We know that Christmas and New Years are right around the corner and we have filled this issue with plenty of fun, funky, and of course futuristic ideas for the fashionably fabulous people who are on your gift list. We are also giving you a look into where the celebs will be ringing in the New Year. So, whether your looking at the fashion in the distance future or inspiration for an outfit to wear to a New Year’s party in the not so distance future, “The Futuristic Issue” has got you covered. Happy 2012 Enjoy, Omarr Olasewere

Inspired by a mash up of medieval armor and the Renaissance spirit, chainmail dresses are dramatic trend from this season’s catwalks. Tell Guinevere to get lost and don a sassy pout to evoke the valiant spirit of a gallant knight in shining armor. Inspired by Kelly Rowland, ASOS’ Chainmail Dress is a shimmering gem with a subtle, cut out backless look that elevates this adorable dress from a mere passing trend to a staple worthy of a fashionista. Afraid you’ll look more like a shiny disco ball than sexy and sultry? Handmade accessories from Dmetal, such as Canal Saint Martin, incorporate removable brass chains which can be detached to dresses, blouses or tanks for an alternative way to work this trend to your own personal wardrobe. Or, try out “The Gretchen” for size, a silver multi-tiered necklace which is versatile, practical and everyone can wear it. Another favorite is the “Chainmail Tee” from Insight, a loose fitting top with Dolman sleeves and a wide neckline. The faux-chainmail gives this tee a fresh look, keeping you on top of the trends and in style. A combination of soft allure and strong femininity, this confident style is not for the faint of heart, thinking more along the lines of “Joan of Arc” than “Disney Princess”.

Social media has created channels of communication which were once never imagined, transcending boundaries which were never thought possible. In a world where interaction has reached an all time pinnacle, what more can be done to push the boundaries? The idea of integrating electronics and textiles is a rapidly expanding market, and Daan Roosegaarde, creative director of Studio Roosegaarde, is the mastermind behind this new wave of high tech meets avant-garde fashion. Studio Roosegaarde answers with their latest “Intimacy 2.0 fashion project, inviting an open dialogue between the relationship between intimacy and technology.

Wallflowers might shy away from the idea, but these “Intimacy 2.0” dresses evoke the most wallflower of all, the chameleon. Based on an ground-breaking technology involving an e-foils which become clear when jolted with electricity, these dresses blend and conform to the individual. These breakthrough dresses are crafted with opaque smart e-foils which respond to close and personal encounters with people, alternating between dense and transparent. Roosegarde highlights how social interactions determine how transparent the garment will be, creating a play between sensual boundaries of personal proximates. Designed for the red carpet starlet in mind, the wearable dresses are a mixture of leather and efoils which respond to the heartbeat of each individual. If your mind is saying, fool forget him, but your heart is saying “Don’t let go!” these dresses might betray you with a skip of a heartbeat. The unique feature about these dresses is the seamless fluidity of the e-foils, allowing for more flexibility in terms of customization. However, whether you choose to blend in or stand out from the crowd, these “Intimacy 2.0” dresses will respond to your heart over your mind, literally. The idea of smart, textile technologies are evolving, and one might theorize about how useful these technologies would be, especially with monitoring health and data based on a person’s well being. The real question is left to the fashion world, and if the fashion trends will embrace the onset of this innovative work.

NYE CELEB PARTIES BY: Kimberly Kimmel Where Will the Celebs be ringing in New Years 2012? Anyone who is anyone is out and about on New Year’s Eve. But where will the coolest celebs bring in 2012? Parties are lined up in New York, L.A. and Vegas. We’ve heard that Lady GaGa will be in Times Square performing at the 40th Anniversary of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve hosted by Ryan Seacrest. We wonder, will she be arriving in her own outlandish version of a crystal ball? Fergie, who is always stylin’, will be hosting the West Coast version of the show in Los Angeles. The Honey Brothers featuring Adrien Grenier will be celebrating and singing at Good Units for New Year’s Eve in New York. Jersey Shore’s J-WOWW will be hosting the entertainment and celebrations at Club Amnesia in Manhattan. Performing at a New Year’s Eve concert at the R Lounge in the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel will be none other than Bruno Mars. Platinum-selling recording artist Drake will rock out the joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Vegas on January 1st. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick will be dancing on the rooftop of the new Chateau Nightclub & Gardens in Las Vegas on the strip. They’ll host the official New Year’s Eve bash along with thousands of party goers who will be toasting in the New Year. Kim Kardashian will be at Tao inside The Venetian in Vegas and Grammy winner Will.I.Am of The Black Eyed Peas will DJ the sets at Surrender Nightclub in Las Vegas. Now that you know where your fave celebs will be, the question is where will YOU be rockin’ in the New Year?

When sciencefashion electrifies the screen

When you incorporate tubing neon in your clothes, it does not burn, it flashes. In the twists and turns of electronic colors, graphic lines and high volumes, futuristic arts are where creativity goes beyond boundaries and sees in 3D. Human beings have constantly strived to foretell the future. They are still speculating about potential UFO existing somewhere in a mysterious planet and keep spoiling generations of new cool gadgets. However, the time machine remains to be a challenging point possibly conceivable in books, comic strips and science fiction movies - pushing the “Undo” button is still an option.

Feriel KOLLI.

Science-fiction filmmaking has a real privilege when it comes to grasp moving pictures from words and drawings and dress people in cosmonaut. Have you ever seen a “Star Wars” Jeidi walking around? Probably in a Thimister fashion show. In sci-fi films nobody laughs, codes of fashion status quo have been already revolutionized, at least in artists mind. SF films and futurist vogue trends merged under a magic electrostatic effect and morphed into endless designs. Space fiction has henceforth a fashionable dimension. Costumes are sometimes kept conventional, the fictional part being mainly “shelled” in the screenplay and surrounding special effects. Agent K (Tommy Lee Thompson) and Agent J (Will Smith), hunting aliens in “Men In Black” are totally credible in their preppie-type suits. And classy suits fit everywhere; Thierry Mugler robotized the High Smoking by replacing the white shirt by cubic iron

pieces and bounced the Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012 to a parallel world; maybe not as much as “The Fifth Element” starship pin ups, dressed in Jean Paul Gautier tailor. Thierry Mugler’s dark universe of skulls and robots parades reveals a cosmic irony between horror and beauty. When temperatures freeze the air, the coat resurfaced. Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) from the “Matrix” trilogy have on a coat like a second skin, even when they are unplugged. Mugler redesigned the long raincoat by recovering it with a glossy touch, creating fluorescent waves of colors when reflected by the light. Seven of Nine’s (Jeri Ryan) appealing costume from “Star Trek” does not require any lighting. The chrome flying suit, reshaping her atomic bodylines, offer a Showtime of bombing sequences. With a good amount of glitter powder she can get a Funky-Futuristic style.

blade runner (1982) The highest climax of the sci-fi outfit is undeniably the latex leotard, which sort of, pops up the limits of your deepest imagination and makes you dancing with the stars. The Retro-Futurist version of Laurie Jupiter (Malin Ackerman) in “Watchmen” gets straight to the fetishist point. The spellbinding latex side effect empowers heroine figures like the feline “Cat Woman,” (Halle Berry) with an ounce of sexual drive. Futurism reaffirms feminine super powers and highlight science fiction as the mirror of a pure fantasy. Number Six (Tricia Helfer) from “BattleStar Galactica” plays soft minimalism by putting on a glamorous red cut dress, allowing a sweet escape of nude curves. Princess Aura (Ornella Muti) in “Flash Gordon” put the accent on the top, showing up with two spacecraft at the shoulders end stitched into a golden-red jacket. The intergalactic quilted jacket inspired Maison Martin Margiela

who designed the iconic immaculate version exposed at Les Arts Décoratifs museum in Paris. Milla Jovovich starring Leeloo in “The Fifth Element,” merely chose the white stripes, perched at a dizzying height of the sky… Geek or fashion victim, even if the blue pageboy haircut or the screened sunglasses are a question of taste, we all have a tiny part of futuristic passion.

Europe’s touch on music has bec ome omnipresent finding its way to airwaves and speakers on the Western hemisphere. Jay-Z and Kanye West, already hiphop sta lwarts, continue to raise the artistic bar with their creativity and evolution as rap’s universal me asu ring sticks with their collaborative effort N*ggas in Par is. This single off of the studio alb um Wa tch the Throne is a hiphop track teasing listeners wit h the overwhelming bass of a trad itional dubstep production pleasing both genres and tou ching on a few sub-genres, strikin g cho rds with the masses. This socially compliant song is fitte d for crowds to dance to or for ind ividuals to enjoy in their headphones or speakers while bei ng whisked away to the fictitious wo rlds that Kanye and Jay-z create minus the heavy price tags of the lavish lifestyles that they are artistically por traying.
