Acts 13:2-3 (NKJV) “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.” What does it mean? It means they were set apart. It was “while they were worshiping the Lord and fasting” that the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul.” Verse one lists several names and verse 2 focuses in on two in particular. Both Barnabas and Saul had already been serving the Lord and now they are being “Set apart” to a particular work “to which” they have been called. This work may not be a call to leave your current job but it may be a call that gives you greater clarity to do what you have been equipped to do. A call like this is also a call that is noticed and affirmed by others. It is a wonderful experience to be “set apart” by the Spirit to work in an area where you are equipped and energized to do so. They were “Sent Out.” We are not called to sit.
We were called to do more than serve for an hour or two in and through the ministries of our church each week. We are called to make a difference in our world! That’s kingdom culture and kingdom living. We are called to be God’s ambassador’s in our homes, at our places of employment, in our communities, on the ball fields, in our schools; wherever we go we are to go there on purpose! That is how “Sent” people live!
We are called to be “Sent…out.” This may or may not

When we hear the word “healthy” we often immediately think “boring” or say “I don’t have the time” or “I don’t know how to cook healthy food.” You don’t have to spend crazy hours cooking. There are many fast and simple recipes; it’s just that you have to make the decision that you are going to do it and do some research, look for the recipes that will work around your taste buds and schedule. And for those of you who are seasoned in healthy eating, try these recipes; they are just what you have been looking for. Whether you are doing meal prep or cooking dinner for the family, whip up these quick and simple recipes. They won’t blow any nutrition plan or add a lot of excess carbs to your diet and they taste fantastic. While still making room for weight loss and calorie control, they will be a hit for the whole family while being healthy and fulfilling. The lighter ingredients won’t leave you unsatisfied, while sneaking in vegetables for the kids (or for yourself). The best part is they don’t require hours of clean up. You will be in and out of the kitchen in no time

Heat spinach with garlic and Italian seasoning. Once hot, mix in cream cheese and shredded chicken. In casserole dish, layer squash with chicken filling and top with Parmesan and bake at 350 for 45 min.

Shred zucchini then add to turkey and egg white and dry Italian dressing. Once onion mix cools, add to turkey mixture. You can put it all in loaf pan or in muffin tin. Cook at 400 about 18-20 min.

Awaken the Misfits eing a teenager is difficult. Teenagers have no filter and let it all out. They tear each other down and praise anything that has a screen. I had a hard time by making other things bigger than God. I focused on what people say. I cared about what people thought. I got so consumed in the world and what it viewed me as, and totally shut out what God said I was. As I let the world consume and then mold me. I would listen to what other people called me. I tried to fit in to stop of the negativity that was being shot at me, but it just made it worse. I would go home and tear myself down. I forgot the promise and the word of the Lord. It felt like years of torment. I felt alone. I had no father figure in my life and felt abandoned. I knew the Lord was with me, but I just picked up my chains and kept moving. I would try to fill the void that was missing inside of me. "That’s what's missing from me that is making me different!" I said to myself. On a quest I tried to find new friends and even tried finding a boyfriend to fill my empty soul. It felt like I tried everything but nothing worked. I gained friends, but then lost them because there was still something about me that was "odd". Then almost went through with a relationship with a guy but got turned down because I was so different. I became angry with God and asked him why he made me so different. Why me out of a million other people! Why did you curse me with such a strong dislike from the world? Why am I so different from every man on this Earth? Every man looked at me with disrespect it felt like. Struggling with all this confusion I went to a conference called “Men's Ramp.” I went with a small group of guys. While we were there I felt out of place, like I wasn’t meant to be there. I compared myself to

every man in there and titled myself. I knew I could never be "manly" out of all those guys after God. Then one moment later a man came over to me and spoke over me what God was telling him. He told me that
God was describing me to the man. He told me "Stop comparing yourself to all these men. I have called you to stand out among every man here. No matter what you think. You are the manliest man here. You will reach other people that these men cannot! You will lead a Movement of Misfits." If you’re reading this and you think you stick out too much to be called by God, stop there. You are unique. Why We Should Evangelize
hen we become Christians, the Bible tells us to study to show ourselves approved. As we learn and study, we see that we are called to be the light of the world. We think that we should just sit around and let the pastors and deacons do the work of going out and sharing the gospel. What it all boils down to is this one simple question: what is evangelism? God calls us to be active in sharing our faith, and it plays a central role in our calling as Christians. As Christians, we should always be ready and eager to share how the Lord has changed our lives. When we hear the word evangelism, it creates fear in our lives. We know that we are supposed to share the gospel, but we don’t know how to do it. In 1 Peter 3:15 it says, “Sanctify the Lord God in your heart and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” We know that we are sometimes persecuted for sharing, but we need to always be ready to share our faith in a loving way. Christians think that evangelism was only in the New Testament, but it was in the Old Testament as well. As we can see, the Lord has been calling his people to share the love and faithfulness throughout all the ages.

As we can see in Isaiah 6:8, “God asked Isaiah, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said ‘Here am I! Send me.’” This question is still true today; my prayer is that you answer it just like Isaiah. As we continue to grow and study the word, we learn that in Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus gives us the command to “Go!” My challenge is that today we all take this command and be about the Father’s business, make disciples, and grow the kingdom by sharing our faith. When we accept the responsibility of being a Christian, we are called to evangelize and spread the good news of Jesus. There’s not time to be scared or embarrassed by answering the call on our lives. Our lives should follow what Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” We want to tell the world about how Jesus loves us. Let’s begin by living as He lived. This will show them what God is like, and the evangelism will come from that love. About The Author

When God Uses Others to Provide Hope to Weary Hearts
