Fall 2021 Plan of Salvation:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
What Is the Christian Message With his final words before his ascension, Jesus issued to his followers the task of conveying his message to the world. Armed with this directive, the total number of Christians exploded from a mere 120 to over 3,000 within the span of two weeks. By the end of the first century, an estimated one million people had responded to the Christian message by becoming followers of Jesus. Today, nearly two thousand years later, the Christian faith has grown to become the largest faith in the world with over two billion adherents. Still, Christians continue to treat Jesus' mandate seriously and persist in spreading his message far and wide.
The Christian message is often referred to as the "Gospel," which means "good news." Specifically, it is the good news about Jesus—who he is, what he has done, and what he offers. Essentially, the message is that Jesus was God in the flesh, that he came into the world to reconcile humanity to himself, and that his salvation is freely offered to each person who will respond in faith.
Furthermore, the Gospel message explains that salvation is only possible through the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus. Though thousands of books have been written about these events, the core idea is that, through his sacrifice, Jesus paid the price for What is this message, though, our sinfulness (rebellion against and why is it so important? sin and replacing it with the offer of eternal life. Though the Christian Scriptures do contain a code of conduct as well as doctrinal and theological statements, the central message is more about placing faith in the person of Jesus than it is about conforming to any code. The primary emphasis of Christianity, then, is to point people toward Jesus and the salvation that is only available from him. The Christian Church has taken different forms throughout the centuries, but this central message has remained the same. It binds all of Christendom together. Though adherents to the faith include people from every walk of life, this message binds them all together. Throughout the Christian Church, this message of salvation is considered to be the hope of the world.
Finding the best holiday deals Looking to save money on Christmas spending this year? If so, you may have to put in a bit more effort compared to seasons past. Still, hard work may result in substantial savings. Financial consultants at Deloitte project that holiday sales will increase by 7 to 9 percent this season, with e-commerce sales expected to grow by 11 to 15 percent. Rising wages may mean that many families have more to spend compared to years past, but inflation and supply constraints could mean higher than normal prices. Electronics may be hard to come by. However, through electronic outlet stores, you can pick up lightly used electronics at a great price, often under warran-
ty. Apple, for example, sells certified refurbished Mac laptops for $150 or more off. You can score substantial discounts on Apple Watches, iPhones and other devices as well. Dell, Acer and other brands now offer official outlet stores on eBay. You can frequently save 30 percent or more. You can also pick up lightly used video games on eBay and at Gamestop. If you've been looking at a Kindle or another Amazon device, Cyber Monday remains a good bet. Google also offers steep sales as well through their online store. Amid supply chain constraints, larger companies like Amazon may enjoy more stable supplies. In-store shopping might
also help you secure good deals, especially if you're willing to wake up early. Best Buy, Walmart and other brick-and-mortar retailers are still expected to offer big sales. At home, check Amazon and other websites for flash sales. Many folks also pick up gifts for themselves. Consider waiting until after Christmas to do personal shopping. For the 2020 Christmas season, the National Retail Federation estimated that $101 billion worth of sales were returned. To clear returns and holiday stocks, retailers may offer extensive after-Christmas sales. Stocks of refurbished goods through outlet websites may also rise while prices drop.
