Choose Joy

Founded in 2004, Challenge Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Cleveland, Tennessee. Challenge Golf’s mission is to use the game of golf as a catalyst to expand the Kingdom of God. Golf provides a nonthreatening way to meet golfers in their circumstances, be there for them in their time of need, point them to Jesus, share the Gospel with seekers, and teach discipleship principles.

Why is the mission of Challenge Golf so relevant today? Our mission field is huge, with 26 million golfers and 15,000 courses in the United States alone. The Barna Research Group produced a recent survey illustrating why it’s a mission field ripe for the harvest. A typical golf tournament with 100 players most likely includes: • 37 suffering from alcohol or substance abuse, • 35 addicted to pornography, • 23 considering bankruptcy, • 45 alienated from their children, • 27 devastated by a failed marriage, and • 2 seriously contemplating suicide!

How is the Challenge Golf Association reaching these golfers? Through the CGA Tour and a collection of golf tournament events, including The Invitational© , The Challenge Cup, The Shootout, and The CGA VIP Experience, all created by and exclusive to Challenge Golf.

God’s amazing grace • Paid in full by sponsors willing to use their blessings to be a blessing for the Kingdom

• Our tournament partnership is with like-minded churches of various denominations • Golfers from the partnering church serve as caddies in the tournament as pictures of servanthood • Caddies from the church invite their unchurched golfing friends to play in this FREE event • Non-golfing volunteers from the church serve in other capacities to make it a great event • Our ongoing discipleship training for caddies teaches relational evangelism principles • The Invitational© is the cornerstone event of Challenge Golf ministry.

The Challenge Cup

• Member-guest golf tournaments conducted at memorable venues • Members bring teammates to introduce to the ministry through a great day of golf • The Challenge Cups are fundraising events for The Invitational© .

The Shootout

• CGA converts regulation 18-hole golf courses into 18-hole, par-3 shootouts • Each hole rewards the “closest-to-the-pin” winners with a cash prize • The Shootouts are fun and play fast, with everyone literally

“going for the green” • The Shootouts are fundraising events for The Invitational© .

CGA VIP Experience

• Once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to meet special celebrity guests, including photographs, autographs, catered meals with fellowship, interviews, and spectacular golf outings • Previous VIP Experiences include Tom Lehman, Bobby

The Invitational©

Praise from our most recent celebrations occurred in Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Birmingham. The Invitational© was conducted with key churches in these areas and included 20 written decisions for Christ in our last outreach tournament and 95 written decisions for Christ in our last six combined outreach tournaments. Included in these results are the mentoring of 100+ caddies and the follow-up with 300+ additional golfers. Due to the pandemic, The Invitational© outreach events scheduled for this year were understandably postponed by our host churches until next year.

Beginning in November, the next 12 months are shaping up to be the best ever! Tim Tebow kicks it off by joining us later this month in Chattanooga for two days. We are truly blessed and energized to begin this relationship with Tim and look forward to watching God grow this ministry into the reality of His vision in the days ahead. We are praying for like-minded partners to come along beside us. Challenge Golf is a noble strategy with revolutionary potential and one in which you may play a significant role.

The following are ways to join us in this exciting Kingdombuilding movement. Churches can partner with us in The Invitational© outreach golf tournament event and receive our FREE services for the golf tournament. Sponsors can enlist in our annual packages to promote your business on our website, in our monthly newsletters, in our social media videos, and at each CGA event during the year. You can also receive paid entries to CGA events with your sponsorship, including VIP Experiences. Individual donors can help knowing that contributions to Challenge Golf are tax deductible. Donors may also receive paid entries to select CGA events as a “Thank You” for their support.

As you can see, Challenge Golf is an exciting ministry that is making a difference in the lives of many. The Invitational© is a unique and creative new tool that many church leaders will be thrilled to discover.

A few long-term funding sources have been created and are now available to provide the next generation of golfers an opportunity to hear the “Good News” we bring on the CGA Tour. And several PGA Tour legends are now endorsing Challenge Golf, including Tom Lehman, Bernhard Langer, Loren Roberts, Bobby Clampett, and Stewart Cink.

In closing, please know that you personally have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many. We provide our tournament coordination services to the church at no cost, so your participation with us is critical in assuring that no soul gets left behind.

Imagine what the Challenge Golf Association will look like when thousands of Christian golfers across the country embrace it. And imagine what your community will look like when caring people reach dying people for Jesus! Would you become a partner with us today and play a significant role in helping the Challenge Golf Association fulfill its mission to use the game of golf to share the Good News and expand the Kingdom of God!

Thank you to everyone for your generous support. The best is yet to be as we look forward to celebrating thousands of victories with you on the CGA Tour! For more information or to get involved, contact Ron Potter at 423.596.1447 or ron@challengegolf.org. To register for the Tim Tebow keynote speaking engagement on Sunday, November 15, at the Redemption to the Nations Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, or to participate in the VIP Experience on Monday, November 16, at the McLemore golf course, go to www.challengegolf.org.

Embrace Grace, And Give A Little Too

by Heather Tate

For those who know me and have worked with me over the years, they know I am harder on myself than almost anyone else—well, my kids might think otherwise, but I am hard on myself. I tend to be overly critical and harsh. I easily get disappointed with myself when I would praise anyone else. I also know a lot of others who do the same. Why must we be harder on ourselves? This Thanksgiving season, I would like to encourage you to embrace grace and give a little grace too.

Grace is one of the gifts God gives us that we cannot earn. He gives us grace out of love so that we might show grace to others. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us, “Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.” I believe we need to embrace the grace God gives us! Embracing God’s grace allows us to flourish where we may otherwise be critical or harsh with ourselves and others. Ask God to help you give yourself some grace; then, as God gives us grace, allow God’s grace to work through you.

Give grace to others as well. I try to encourage my children to think about the consequences of their actions. We can do the same when considering the consequences of showing grace to others. I can show grace to others during this season of Thanksgiving in many ways. When we give grace to others, we can share God’s love through our actions. I can show grace in the way I greet people with a smile; when I show kindness in situations where others may not deserve it; or in loving or responding to my children each day. We can show grace as an act of love, not to receive something in return but to give a gift that encourages others.

In challenging times, we must embrace grace, for that is when God’s grace can shine through us. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, we learn that God’s grace is sufficient for us! In every

season of life, if we trust Him and lean into Him, His grace is enough. Even in times when we have doubts, His grace remains sufficient. When we are weak, He is strong. Christ’s power is made perfect in our weaknesses.

I encourage you to embrace God’s grace for yourself and give grace to others. We all need a little grace and encouragement. This gift of grace cost us nothing and is priceless in how it can make a difference in the life of another. I hope you will join me as I try to embrace grace and give it freely this holiday season.

Cantrell Grading: Let The Experts Help!

So you have a big project that you want to get done around your house or property. You’re almost ready to go, but before you start, you still need to clear a few trees, grade your land, or somehow drain that giant puddle of water that’s been there for the last three years. Worry no more, and let Cantrell Grading handle all of your problems for you!

Cantrell Grading is owned and operated by Randall Cantrell. Fully licensed and insured in Georgia, and with over 20 years of experience, Randall and his Level 1A-certified personnel provide residential grading and landclearing services to over 20 North Georgia counties. They are also accredited A+ by the Better Business Bureau. Their services include: • Land clearing and/or backfilling. Proper backfilling and grading are essential to avoid serious structural and drainage problems. • Barn and shop pads. They clear and grade plenty of barn and shop pads here in North Georgia. It is one of their most popular projects. • Dirt, brush, and stump removal. Don’t waste time and energy doing it yourself! Cantrell Grading has the right equipment to come in and get it done fast. • Driveways and parking areas. They cut, clear, and grade a lot of driveways, even in the most difficult of areas. • Property improvements. Sometimes you simply need a tree line down or want that standing water in those low areas to drain. Maybe you are tired of looking at those stumps or want a new pasture area. Cantrell Grading can help! • Playgrounds and swimming pools. Do you need a larger area for your kids to play? Maybe just a level area or an area cleared of trees? How about a swimming pool over where that hill is? They can handle that too and will even give you a free estimate.

Most residential jobs require only one machine—the versatile track type loader. Unfortunately, many graders want to use several pieces of equipment to do a one-machine job. More machines and workers on your job site means that it will cost you more money, but not with Cantrell Grading. Using the proper equipment, they strive to come in under budget with on-time, scheduled completion. Randall said, “It’s my goal to earn your trust and respect by dealing with you in an honest and straightforward manner. We know you have a choice in whom you do business with. If you choose Cantrell Grading, you will benefit from high-quality work. I hope you choose Cantrell Grading for your grading needs.”

Do you need a quote? Are you unsure how much you should budget for your project? No problem! Randall will

come out to your job site and give you a free and accurate estimate of what you can expect. According to Randall, “Every job is different, and anyone can quote you some figures over the phone, but be careful! If they don’t come out to look the site over, you can probably expect a curveball! That’s why we take the time to do things right. It’s very important to us that you know—and we know—exactly what the job entails.”

You may reach Cantrell Grading to set up a free, noobligation visit and quote by calling them at (706) 374-6516 or emailing them at info@cantrellgrading.com. You can also find them online at www.cantrellgrading.com or on Facebook. Don’t pay just anyone to help you with your projects. Let Cantrell Grading help, and watch your worries disappear!
