vangelist Gloria Brooks Williams was born in Valdosta, Georgia to the parents of Mrs. Margaret Peterson Long and the late Mr. Freddie Roberts.

Evangelist Williams retired from the Hillsborough County Public School Transportation after 32 years of service. Having a heart of servanthood to God’s people, she was a foster care parent for over 13 years. Evangelist Williams recognized the need to help displaced; homeless men, women and children and at times entire families in her younger age. Evangelist Williams opened her home as a refuge to multitudes for over 45 years where she feeds, provides clothing and continues to provide a safe haven for anyone in need. She is always willing to work for the Lord even when her health is not the best, but she presses and stands on faith that “God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.” 2 Samuel 22:33. She serves faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher and Ordained Minister of the Gospel under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Aaron Munford of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Tampa, FL. She has served faithfully as past Vice President of the choir at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus C. P. Epps, the Deaconess Board, the Senior Mission, Sick and Flower Committee, past Director of the Sunbeam Mission for Ages 1-12 for over 10 years and served on the Kitchen Committee for over 20 years. Evangelist Williams is the founder of the Yes, You Can Women’s Fellowship Ministry and the Yes You Can Women’s Fellowship Foundation. Yes You Can Women’s Fellowship is a mentor/support group who consider themselves strong, determined, caring, compassionate, and God-fearing and survivors. Their mission is to educate, encourage and assist women in whatever is needed to enhance their quality of life. Though her ministry pride themselves in being a facilitator of manifesting dreams, they have also given birth to 2nd Time Around, which is an association of grandparents and non-traditional (or non-related) guardians of children without the aid of the Foster Care System. Often, overwhelmed with the needs of the children such as extra food, clothing, medical care, etc. Yes, You Can Women’s Fellowship aims to support the needs of the caregiver. Girls Gone Wise, In A World Gone Wild, Single and Saved, and Mentors, Inc. In addition to these mission projects, Evangelist Williams and her ministry also find the time to adopt a local nursing home every year. This year, they adopted Excel Care Center in Tampa, Florida. There, they make bi-monthly visits with gifted of a song, scripture, and prayer; they provide helping hands with special programs created by the Activities Director, and they donate clothing and personal care items to those seniors in need. She has two daughters, LaTonya Riley of Tampa, FL. and Margo Roberts of Atlanta, GA., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Most of all, Evangelist Gloria Brooks Williams is a God-fearing woman, a prayer warrior and she stands boldly as a born-again Christian.

When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator and I immediately wanted to paint another. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I Learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick and I learned what it means to serve one another in brotherly love. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I hear you pray over me and kiss me goodnight and I felt loved and safe. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities even when you didn’t feel good and I learned what it means to glorify God in all things. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you give your time and money to the church and people in need and I learned that God loves a cheerful giver. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw tears come to your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it’s all right to cry. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you praying and reading God’s Word and I learned to depend on and trust in Him too. When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, “Thanks for all the things I saw. . . when you thought I wasn’t looking.”
