As a woman of Faith Kimberly trusts in God and she knows of His interest in her life. She loves His words and she hears His voice.

As a child of Joy, Laiana has got joy down in her heart and she spends her life praising God through song and dance in honor of Him.

As a woman filled with Love she loves everyone as God so loved the world; God lives in her and his love is made complete in her. She is a loving mother to her children, Juquan and Erika, and a loving grandmother to Aaden.

As a child of the King, His royal blood flows in her veins, and she’s cleansed by His blood. She is a blessing to children and can often be found helping in the church nursery playing with or reading to them.

As a woman of God she is a believer and has become a new spiritual person. The lifestyle she lives, her habits and desires have conformed to God’s will. She edifies Him and is constantly displaying the characteristic of a virtuous woman.

As a child growing strong in the Spirit, she has amazed her teachers and parents with her deep desire for learning. Now a 4th grader, she continues to grow, become stronger and increase her knowledge; because God’s favor is on her.

We are back… in FULL Armor! 10) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11) Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19) Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20) for which I am an ambassador in chains. Kimberly Smith Fleming is a women of

faith who is filled with love and the Holy Spirit and is living the life God has planned for her to the fullest. Although a native of Buffalo, NY, she has resided in Tampa, FL the majority of her life. She is the proud mother of two children, Juquan and Erika, and the proud grandmother of Aaden; she is the author of “When the Thunder Roars. Will You Choose Victory or Defeat?”; she is a licensed minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church; she is a prominent real estate agent with Only Way Realty; and she is a prestige alumni of Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, FL. But it doesn't stop there, she has now entered into another chapter of her life and that is to do what God has commanded her to do. That is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all that she comes into contact with. She has recently accepted her call into ministry and is a active member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where Rev. Karen Jackson Sims is the Pastor. There she serves as a Trustee and is over the weekly prayer line 605-475-4500 ext. 685797 on Thursdays at 7pm and serves as the choir president. She has also served in many capacities of the church through the years: Steward, Trustee, Choir Director, Praise Team Director, Youth Director, Adult Circle, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Teacher. When asked what inspired her to write such a powerful and uplifting book she stated “I feel compelled to inform my readers that every one of my trials elevated me to another level in Christ. I have learned that God allows occurrences of difficulty to stretch our endurance in turbulent times. Therefore, I’ve learned to dig my heels into the grass and press forward because when you feel the greatest pressure, your victory is about to manifest. Through it all, I was determined to be a fighter and not a fainter. I dislike defeat and therefore, I had to be a victor and not a victim. I realize that God has armed me with strength for every battle… His Word! Therefore, my prayer and goal is that everyone knows that God is able and willing to restore them in every aspect of their life. He’s waiting on you!”

Jaden: Which is better singing from my Head or my Chest? Debra: It’s funny how everybody loves to sing. Even babies, seniors, animals and every living creature love to sing. Sometimes the singing is pleasant to the ear and sometimes not so pleasant, but to the singer it always sounds good. However, whether you sing from your head or from your chest make a difference in your sound. Head singing mostly involves falsetto or higher pitched singing rather than natural voice coming from your chest or diaphragm. Most of us who sing in the shower or around the house sing whatever happens to suit us at the time; but, when you sing in a group, choir, and band or as a soloist you need to learn where your voice has the strongest sound. Some people have strong “Head” voices like Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations; while others like Dottie Peoples have stronger “Chest” voices. Whichever voice you use, head or chest, learn to use it and learn to use it well.

I believe from reading this passage of scripture that when Christians believe instantaneously that there is an answer inside of their thoughts which is ready to become a vision inside of their minds unknowingly, but living out the vision which is inside of them, this is faith and God is the source of faith. So when Christians who are drawn toward the Lord God, surely ought to trust him because he is the giver of faith to whomsoever come to him daily. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Take Care of Yourself – July is UV Safety Month Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun are the main cause of skin cancer. UV damage can also cause wrinkles and blotchy skin. The good news? Skin cancer can be prevented! Communities, health professionals, and families can work together to prevent skin cancer. How can UV Safety Month make a difference? We can all use this month to raise awareness about skin cancer and help people take action to prevent it – both at home and in the larger community. Here are just a few ideas:  Encourage families to adopt good habits together, like wearing sunscreen and limiting their time in the sun.  Motivate teachers and administrators to teach kids about the harm of uv rays and why it’s important to protect yourself.  Identify youth leaders in your community who can talk to their peers about taking steps to prevent skin cancer. How can I help spread the word? The Ophthalmology has made it easier for you to make a difference! This toolkit is full of ideas to help you take action today. Youth & Children Shining Light…

Laiana Thornton Laiana {Lay-on-nah} is a bright and creative student at Philip Shore Elementary Magnet School of the Arts who finds her greatest pleasure reading. She also likes to dance, sing, design clothes, play the violin and hand bells. Laiana is an academically gifted student and was recently inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society. She was also selected at school to perform in the Dance for Shore ensemble performance dance group at her school. Her talents have earned her a position on the school's set design crew for Disney's The Little Mermaid. Recently, her artwork was showcased during the school’s Black History Month Interactive Night. Laiana is one of five children in the Thornton home. Her parents, Calvin and Victoria, started their family and went about the Lord's work. Laiana is a big sister to Victoria (9) & Ileya (7) and she is a little sister to Cierra (18) and Ashton (11). Laiana accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized in March 2011 at the tender age of 6 at First Baptist Church of Progress Village (Dr. Samuel Maxwell, Senior Teaching Pastor) where she has been a member since 1995 and where her father serves as a ordained Deacon. She has been active in the youth department drama group, praise dance, choir, drill team and hospitality ministries. Laiana loves babies and toddlers and could often be found helping in the church nursery playing with or reading to the little babies. Her family recently joined the Fellowship of Encouragement at Bell Shoals Baptist Church where Laiana has become very active in GAs (Girls in Action), Bible Fellowship and plans to follow her love for babies and toddlers by working in the church's nursery. She also is currently reading up on and saving up for her CPR certification and First Aid training so that she can earn money as a babysitter. Since Pre-K, Laiana has amazed her teachers and parents with her deep desire for learning. From the moment she realized she could read, Laiana has not hesitated to research and learn about any given topic. Laiana has respresented her class in the Barbara J. Rooks Battle of the Books team and Science Olympics. She earned the highest score this past spring on her school's mock FCAT. For the past two years Laiana has scored in the top 5-10% of her school earning a 5 on both the Math and Reading FCAT. Laiana aspires to seek out early graduation and admittance to college through dual enrollment. Having recently been promoted to the sixth grade at age 10. She has started her first class through Florida Virtual School and currently has a B+ in her 6th grade Language Arts Honors class. She, along with her siblings, will be homeschool students in the fall. This will allow this bright and ambitious young lady to blaze a trail to academic success. Though she is often reading or learning, Laiana can often be found writing songs and poetry, teaching herself gymnastics, or designing innovative clothing for her dolls and herself. Her passion for fashion quickly drew her attention to Paris, the fashion capital of the world. She thought it through and planned to first make a name for herself in the fashion mecca of New York City immediately following her college graduation. Laiana has, however, recently discovered a new passion for Earth science. She is very interested in weather, climate, hurricanes and tornadoes. She is often reading about different storms and natural occurrences. She has taken a tremendous interest in becoming a meteorologist. Above all else, Laiana enjoys reading her Bible and growing in the knowledge of the Lord and sharing it with her siblings and friends. The JOY of the Lord illuminates from her each time she smiles. Laiana is a remarkable blessing to her family!

A Good Read by LEE You Can Be a Friend by Tony & Lauren Dungy I stumbled across this book in LifeWay Christian Supply while looking for a few life lessons and inspirational books for the youth ministry at my church. The illustration was so beautiful I couldn’t help but pick it up. My first thought was… “Tony and Lauren Dungy? I didn’t know they were authors of children books written for ages 4-7.?” So I took a look inside, I was pleased with the introduction as it was the content I was searching for and I was also very pleased with the reference scripture 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV). I quickly placed it in my basket. This is a heartwarming story, proving that as children of God we should not judge others based on their outward appearance; instead we must get to know them for who they are. The book is centered on a new friendship between two little girls Jada and Hannah. When Hannah and her family moves next door, Jada becomes excited that there’s finally a girl to play with but to her dismay, Hannah is confined to a wheelchair. The good news is, Jada’s parents encouraged her not to consider Hannah’s outer appearance but to slowing get to know her. Jada followed her parent’s advice and made a great friend. This book was well received by the children in my youth group. I highly recommend this book for children of all ages.

New Grace Mary Outreach Ministries – “Fruitful Corner” To God Be The Glory Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! As Pastor of this great ministry I am grateful for the opportunity to come back to pastor in this community. After traveling through the eastern part of the United States of America preaching and ministering in the urban cities, I was favored by God to return to my home church as pastor. I am also grateful for the people who come every Sunday to hear the word of the Lord fore they are the reason I continue to press forward. I love all of them and I am very thankful for their hard work and dedication. During the last seven years, we have reached a lot of our goals together as a body of Christ. In the words of Dr. J. L. Jones, “We are a small piece of leather, but we are well put together!” Although a small piece of leather, we have done some great things in the ministry. In addition to visiting the sick and shut-in and feeding the hungry as most mission churches do; we have helped several ministries get started by providing them a place for praise and worship service; we have reached out to the Jamestown Community to support community empowerment; and we have completed the reconstruction of the Willie J. Billue Sr. Fellowship Hall and now in process of becoming a donation site for “Feeding America”. But above all, we continue to preach and teach the gospel to all creation.
