These properties make this material is at the forefront of the latest technologies related to the automotive industry because reduces fuel consumption and improves vehicle safety. In Gonvarri although the traditional business has focused in the steel, following the latest trends we have introduced the aluminum in our portfolio.
For us, the introduction of this material have represented a challenge because its malleability is higher than steel and therefore required during handling, additional measures such as lubricate the cutting blades, package with plastic strapping and always put cardboard in the settlement for avoid it deteriorate.
Keeping leadership in Steel Business
During this year we forecast to process 10.000 MT of aluminum coils, sheets and blanking pieces with great success and we expect this material will have significant growth within the group in the coming years.
