People’s Cup on show in Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour documentary

agambie has drawn barrier 4 in the 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep.
In 2019 the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) introduced the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour. National Sweep as part of the tour, which sees 24 rural and regional Cup Tour destinations across Australia the opportunity to be allocated a barrier for the Lexus Melbourne Cup. The town which draws the barrier of the Cupwinning horse will be presented with a cash prize of $50,000 to put towards a nominated charity for a local community initiative. The bushfire - ravaged community of Kangaroo Island in South Australia took home the $50,000 donation last year for the Royal Flying Doctors, after Twilight Payment led from start to finish to win the 160th Lexus Melbourne Cup. The 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour National Sweep barrier draw took place on Tuesday the 26th October with Go Nagambie drawing barrier number 4.
The 2021 Melbourne Cup barrier draw will be announced at 5:30pm after Derby Day, on Saturday 30th October 2021. If we are lucky enough for the winner of the 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup to start from barrier 4, Nagambie HealthCare being Go Nagambie’s chosen charity, will be the beneficiary of the $50,000 SweepTown donation. The funds will be spent on improving pedestrian access to the lakeside picnic area and landscaping of the area at Nagambie HealthCare. Currently the pathway down to the waters edge is gravel and uneven creating an element of risk for residents and staff when accessing the outdoor areas. And the dream doesn’t stop there. If the horse from barrier 4 wins the race, Mr. Gerry Ryan said he will match the funds, donating a further $50,000 towards the Nagambie HealthCare project. The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour will be the subject of a two part documentary titled The People’s Cup which will air on Network 10 in the lead up to ‘the race that stops a nation’TM - the Lexus Melbourne Cup. Hosted by popular Australian television journalist Gorgi Coghlan, the documentary will tell the story of the People’s Cup and how the coveted trophy
touches communities around Australia every year as part of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour.

The series consists of two 30 minute episodes which will air on Network 10. Part One of the series screened on Sunday 24th October and Part Two will follow on Sunday 31st October. The documentary is available to stream on 10 Play.
“Since the tour first began in 2003, the VRC have delighted in bringing communities together in the shared history and magic of the People’s Cup,” Mr Wilson said.
The documentary follows the 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup trophy’s journey to a number of destinations featured in this year’s tour, including Cairns in Far North Queensland and Apollo Bay, Nagambie and Kerang in Victoria. The series contains interviews with a number of iconic racing identities including Adam Sangster from Swettenham Stud in Nagambie. This year is the 19th year of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour, which has seen the iconic trophy travel more than 750,000 kilometres and visit more than 530 regional, rural and metropolitan destinations, providing communities with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the magic of the Lexus Melbourne Cup. Keeping it local F
or nearly three decades, master butcher Scotty Reid has propped an antique bike outside Avenel Meats to signal when the weatherboard shop is open. “It’s an old butcher’s delivery bike,” Scotty said of the 1930s Malvern Star, which is an iconic sight in the historic Bank St streetscape. “I bought it from a mate in Trawool about five years after moving to Avenel.” The shop front is a picture of yesteryear and the business is renowned for good old- fashioned service and quality, locally sourced meat − the wholesaler is equally acclaimed by customers across Victoria for its handmade gourmet goods.
Especially famed for its specialty sausages (about eight varieties) and smoked goods, the family business works closely with local eateries which have built Avenel’s reputation as a foodie haven. Scottish-born Scotty and his late parents John and Jill opened Avenel Meats in 1987. It was the first opportunity to work together for John, an oldschool butcher transitioning to semi- retirement, and Scotty, who was at the tail end of his butcher apprenticeship. “We worked together for about 15 years,” Scotty said of the move to Avenel from Broadmeadows. Scotty, who now runs Avenel Meats with wife Neisha, cherishes an old black and white photo of John then aged in his 20s, which is displayed inside Avenel Meats. “That one photo tells a thousand words,” Scotty, 54, said. “It’s really special, I just love it.” Scotty believes the photo was taken in the 1950s, when John worked as butcher aboard the transatlantic passenger liner RMS Queen Mary. “I love the look on Dad’s face with a couple of his workmates,” Scotty said. “They partied pretty hard, but they went through some tough times as well, just like we are all going through tough times today [due to COVID-19]. “One of Dad’s crazy mates used to get on the bow of the ship like Leonardo DiCaprio [with Kate Winslet
in the movie Titianic].
“Dad travelled the world: when we he got back to Scotland he’d be dressed in these suits from America and looking pretty suave to all the girls; he was talk of town.” John and Jill Reid left Scotland for South Africa in the early ’70s with their two sons, Scotty the youngest. John opened a grocery store and Scotty started school before the family migrated to Melbourne when Scotty was six years old. The family settled in Broadmeadows, and at 15-years of age Scotty started his butcher’s apprenticeship in Coburg. Somewhere along the way, his dad’s part-time band, Deep Sea Rhythm Boys, scored a guest appearance on The Graham Kennedy Show. “Dad played the piano accordion. It was a really exciting time,” Scotty said. Fast forward to 2021: some of Scotty’s six children have at various stages worked at Avenel Meats, alongside apprentice and qualified butchers and other local teenagers seeking their first part-time jobs. Avenel Meats is as intrinsic to the Avenel community as its famed sausages, smoked goods and other lines of local products ranging from honey, chutneys, sourdough, cider and wines.

“It’s like the saying ‘The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker – but we don’t sell candles!” Scotty said. Across the road, Bank St Wood Fired Pizza and Garden use Scotty’s pork and fennel sausage in the aptly named gourmet pizza – The Scotty. Scotty loves the country pace of life and close-knit community in Avenel – and he enjoys sharing the area’s must-visit destinations with newcomers and tourists. “I feel lucky to live and work here,” he said. Safety upgrades for GMW bridges Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) will begin upgrade works at three sites south of Murchison next week. The works, along a 13km stretch of MurchisonGoulburn Weir Rd, will upgrade the barriers on four GMW-owned bridges that cross its channels. The works will start on Monday, October 18, and are expected to be complete by Monday, December 13. Speed restrictions will be in place at all three sites and some of the works will require one lane to be closed for a short duration, which will be implemented by traffic controllers on site. There will be low levels of dust and noise in the area from these works, and nearby residents have been notified. GMW Infrastructure Delivery Services general manager Warren Jose said the upgrades were the result of bridge condition assessments conducted by GMW. “The barrier works will make these structures safer and bring them up to standard,” Mr Jose Said. “We thank nearby residents and road users for their patience during this time and ask that they follow the signs and speed limits for the safety of our staff working in the area.” For more information, phone the GMW Customer Contact Centre on 1800 013 357.
Nominate an Australia Day Hero Strathbogie Shire residents are being reminded they have until November 1 to nominate someone in their community for a 2022 Australia Day Award. “People don’t volunteer or put up their hand to help others in their community because they’re looking for recognition, they do it because they care,” Cr Raeburn said. “The Australia Day Awards are a way we can say thank you to those people. Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week is celebrating a quarter century of helping Australians recycle right from 8-14 November by asking Australians to celebrate recycling in a way that is meaningful to them. Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan Exploring the possibility of an off-leash dog park in Nagambie and more ranger patrols are some of the improvements to Strathbogie Shire Council’s Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan. The draft plan was released for public feedback today, after a community survey identified key areas for improvement. “Our community told us there were three key areas in which they wanted to see us do more,” Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor, Cr Chris Raeburn, said.
These were: • Dogs wandering streets and involved in aggressive incidents • Cats wandering away from owners’ property, and
• more off lead dog areas within the municipality. “To address these concerns our Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan includes more regular proactive patrols and community events promoting responsible ownership of dogs,” he said.

Exploring the possibility of an off-leash dog park in Nagambie and more ranger patrols are some of the improvements to Strathbogie Shire Council’s Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan. The draft plan is now open for public feedback, after a community survey identified key areas for improvement, these being: •
Dogs wandering streets and involved in aggressive incidents
•
Cats wandering away from owners’ property
•
More off lead dog areas within the municipality.
The draft plan also outlines publicly promoting the outcomes of dog attack prosecutions to discourage the behaviour, an education campaign about wandering cats and recommends gauging community feedback on a possible cat curfew.

SPOTLIGHT Rural Outreach Worker - Ivan Lister Outreach Workers raise awareness and educate the general public about issues in the community, such as mental health, then build relationships with key organisations and individuals (churches, schools, businesses, local government officials, community leaders) to overcome the problems together. As an Outreach Worker, Ivan Lister visits residents in their own environment, providing a non-threatening space for people to discuss any concerns or issues they may have. Ivan’s core role is communicating and building relationships and providing the link between rural residents and appropriate services that can assist and support people to self-manage their health and wellbeing. For more than 20 years, Ivan has been serving the community and has made a valuable contribution. With the pressures of bushfire, drought, floods, and the pandemic, Ivan has continued his work and supported hundreds of farmers and community members during this time. This week the Community Voice touch base with Ivan Lister, Rural Outreach worker. Ivan has 2 sons who work locally. Max the eldest is a farrier and the youngest William has just a landscape construction apprenticeship in Tatura. Ivan’s wife Jenny manages the Murchison Neighbourhood House. “I grew up in Alexandra, and moved to Mooroopna in the late ‘70’s to manage a mixed business with my first wife,” said Ivan. Ivan has worked in many different fields. “I Worked on the council and CRB driving heavy machinery. I managed a hotel/motel at Eildon, and even started a discount shoe shop in Alexandra. “In 1970, local Rotarians gave me the chance to be part of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award after setting up a drop in centre for unemployed young people. This set me on a path to work with young people aged 17-20 in care at Turana Youth Training Centre through Human services at the Acheron Camp. Ivan is a part time thoroughbred horse trainer and enjoys recreational cycling. having been a professional cyclist in events such as the Melbourne to Warrnambool. “I attend country footy and catch-up with past players. Having played for Alexandra, Thornton Mooroopna, Ardmona, Undera and in the 1966 grand final for Rye in the Nepean league – there is usually someone I know! I enjoy watching world class sports on TV, especially cycling – on the road or on the track.
Through time, Ivan has developed a strong underlying relationship of trust between farmers, rural workers and various support services in the region. Much of the work Ivan does is re-visiting and checking to see how people are travelling as well as initiating new contacts through his outreach work. “I am a rural outreach worker, by cold call or responding to referrals as required. I am the link man between people and relevant services. The pandemic has presented many challenges, one of those not being able to have face to face conversations due to restrictions in place. “At its peak I could have up to 40 phone contacts to check in on farmers. Services not being at full strength due to COVID made it hard to connect people. Ivan believes there remains a gap in the community of being able to understand individual needs. “We have lost the ability to communicate with other community members. I think that communities including farmers need someone to talk to during these times and sometimes we complicate this through titles and positions in organisations. The gap between people in power and people on the ground has never been wider. We need to be bridging that gap through conversation and understanding. Ivan will continue the role of rural outreach worker, visiting as many farms and residential properties as possible and to make a difference.
“Having someone say ‘you saved my life’ as an opening comment when running into someone three years later. In late 2018 a fundraiser was held at the Royal Mail Hotel in Nagambie raising funds for the Rural Outreach service to support the farming communities of Avenel, Longwood, Nagambie, Murchison and Mangalore surrounds. Over $13000 was raised through generous donations from community members and businesses to support Ivan in his Outreach Work. “Referrals come from family members, neighbours, friends, community members or the individuals themselves. I will be out and about listening to and supporting our community during the next six months and I look forward to building community events where we can bring people together,” ended Ivan.

igger and revitalised green spaces, improved pedestrian access and an opportunity to celebrate the region’s historical racing and breeding credentials are just some of the ideas mooted in a draft streetscape plan for Nagambie. In partnership with Go Nagambie, Strathbogie Shire Council engaged Planit Consulting to develop a draft streetscape plan that can be implemented as a staged approach in coming years. Mayor, Cr Chris Raeburn, said Council was now seeking feedback on the draft plan.
“We’re keen to hear the Nagambie community’s feedback on the plan, which aim to revitalise the central business area,” Cr Raeburn said. “The High Street design has put a focus on key landmarks like the water tower, cenotaph, old mill and the median strip. “The plan outlines the potential relocation of public amenities, improved footpaths and street plantings, an alfresco area for outdoor dining and market spaces in the central median strip that interact with the shops.” Council’s engagement will start with trader information and feedback sessions on Friday,
October 29. Broader community consultation will begin on Monday, November 1 when the plans are available on www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au and at our Customer Service Centres.

Other opportunities identified include re-aligning the north bound road around the eastern side of the water tank, to create a larger open space.

“Key features of the masterplan include quality pavement, street trees, garden beds, gathering nodes, furniture and public art,” Cr Raeburn said. Five stages are outlined in the draft plan at a total cost of about $1.5M. “The staged approach allows Council to progress works over time, but the plans also allow us to apply for funding opportunities that could see these plans come to life more quickly,” he said.

Double celebration for Danny Ryan Danny Ryan of Nagambie had two reasons to celebrate on October 12th. He turned 90 years of age and he and his wife Eileen celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
Mid morning Danny received a call from his granddaughter Erin from overseas to wish him a happy day. His daughter Lyn in Darwin was sorry she could not be there to celebrate with him and other family members and friends said the same when they wished him Happy Birthday.
Danny and Eileen moved to Kirwan’s Bridge 27 years ago and spent their early retirement years in their home there and then moved into a display home in Helena Court, Nagambie 12 years ago. Danny loved forming a new garden and lawn area in their new place and he enjoys maintaining it to this very day.
Danny adopted Eileen’s two children Lyn Hurley and Gren Ryan and he has been their Pa ever since. The Ryans have three grandchildren by Lyn and Gerard Hurley, Matthew, Erin and Joseph; and Matthew and his wife Donna have blessed the couple with two great grandchildren James and Amelia.
COVID 19 Restrictions unfortunately stopped any birthday party plans for Danny but he had a good neighbour Rose Adams-Finnigan who blew up coloured party balloons and made a 90 th birthday sign on her children’s easel for Dan’s special day.
Danny Ryan (born Denis James Ryan) was born in Sea Lake Victoria to parents Philip and Rita Ryan on 12 th October 2021. He had 7 siblings. Joan, Pat, Billy, Barbara, Bonnie, Noel and Bernie. The family lived at Sea Lake and the children went to the Sea Lakes State School.
Rose spent some time in the early morning tying the balloons in their eye catching places and placing the sign at the front of the driveway for all to see.
Danny left school around the age of 13 and went to work on his uncles’ farm out bush. He said “I learnt to ride a horse (like the kids today ride a bike)
Nowadays, Danny enjoys going to Harry’s Café each day for a coffee and wishes Harry get well wishes and hopes he will be back at the Café’s helm Soon.
She placed the balloons along the Ryan’s driveway, on a nearby tree and fence line and at the front entrance to their house. Danny and Eileen were so surprised to see them all happily blowing in the breeze when they got up and Dan went for his daily paper out the front. He was thrilled to think Rosie had done it and he and his wife Eileen were so thankful and happy that Rosie had thought as much of him to do such a nice thing for his birthday. She also made a birthday cake for him which he, Eileen and neighbours enjoyed later on in the day.
SHORT HISTORY
I went rabbiting, shooting, swimming, fishing and amuse myself and others with activities we could think of in the bush. We made our own fun then.” When he was old enough he joined the Australian Army for a few years and served in Japan and the Korean War for 12 months. He was discharged from the army in March 1954. He has his medals mounted on a clasp and wears them proudly on special occasions. When he finished his army service he went back to farming until later years when he worked in the
Board of Works on the Greenvale and Cardinia Creek dam jobs. Danny met Eileen Stillard around 1970 when she worked as a laundry and cleaning services supervisor at Sacred Heart at Pascoe Vale. They married on 12th October 1973 and celebrated 48 years of marriage on Danny’s 90th Birthday.
He became a keen fisherman when he lived at Kirwan’s Bridge. He said “I could get to the Valley Hotel boat ramp in 15 minutes in my little fibreglass boat and then have a beer.”
Danny joined the Nagambie RSL years ago and has some good photos of the Nagambie RSL folk from years gone by. Danny would like to thank all those who rang, sent cards, visited and who gave him Birthday wishes. It made his day. He would also like to thank Rosie for all the special things she did to make it a special occasion. Danny, your community wishes you a very Happy 90th a real milestone in your life. May you have

It will be located off the foreshore of Buckley Park and will be another great asset for our township. There are several projects seeking community feedback. Earlier in the year a Climate Change Forum was to be held. Unfortunately, because of COVID restrictions, this had to be postponed. It has now been moved onto our website for community engagement. On Monday of this week the process of hearing the application for a caravan park at Kirwan’s Bridge commenced. It is expected to last five days so we may know the result by Friday. The Nagambie Streetscaping Plan will be on display next Friday, for businesses only, at Jacobson’s Outlook. Broader community consultation will start on Monday, November 1 with the plans available at www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au and at the Visitor Information Centre. They are not set in concrete so your input will be welcomed. Nominations are now open for the 2021 Outstanding Volunteer awards. Volunteers come from all walks of life and involve themselves in so many aspects such as delivering food relief and medical supplies and helping seniors video call loved ones. They are the backbone of our community. There are eight award categories including leadership, service and teamwork. The Premier’s Volunteer of the Year will be recognised with the Dame Elizabeth Murdoch Award and will receive $10,000 to donate to a not-for-profit organisation of their choice. Taking it outdoors: Supporting the North East to reopen The Victorian Government is helping businesses and the community breathe new life into regional towns as vaccination progressively delivers greater freedoms across the state. With summer drawing near and Victorians warming to the promise of a return to bars, cafes and restaurants, the new $54.5 million Outdoor Economy Package will help support the costs for thousands of businesses of setting up for street trading, and back councils to provide the necessary infrastructure and support. A $14.5 million COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Voucher Program will provide more than 7,000 Victorian businesses, community organisations, not-for-profits and trader associations with $2,000 grants when they spend at least that amount to support initiatives such as outdoor hospitality and entertainment. Hairdressers, beauty services, retail shops, dance studios and gyms will also be eligible to apply for vouchers, meaning they can join restaurants, cafes and bars in harnessing the opportunities of kerbside trading. The Voucher Program will open soon and will be delivered by Business Victoria in partnership with Service Victoria.
Community consultation and engagement strategy Earlier this year Petaurus Education Group in conjunction with Tahbilk Winery applied for a grant to conduct community consultation with a vision to develop a strategic plan focussed on ecotourism, education and cultural opportunities in the region.
This project will culminate in a youth gala day at Tahbilk for local primary schools as well as a community festival. These events will be focussed on educational outcomes regarding the important topics of environment and Indigenous Culture. Feedback from these events will be built into the community consultation process and form part of the recommendations for how we can continue strengthening our community and region. The project will act as a stepping stone for further initiatives that can address community needs, a journey Tahbilk is very excited to be a part of.
The application has been successful with the group being granted $20000 through the Australian Government Building Better Regions Fund Community Investment Stream - Round Five. federal government. The total cost of the project is $41,954.

Some in the community have however have done it tougher than others be though decreased physical or mental health or increased financial strain and in recognizing this the Queens this year are donating directly to Salvo Care in Seymour who are in many instances the first port of call in providing assistance to those in crisis. The Salvation Army directly assists families via food and housing assistance and are excited to be the recipients of the Queens4Queens initiative in 2021. Queens4Queens is a community run campaign run out of Nagambie since 2016. It, as all good ideas do, started as idle conversation between a group of like-minded ladies who played social netball together. Inspired by the National “Share the Dignity” initiative they wanted to create something that would assist their local community directly. Originally each member in the team decided to donate a handbag full of toiletries and
personal items but soon the idea took on a life of its own and Queens4Queens was born. To date Queens4Queens has donated well over 300 ‘Queen Bags’ full of toiletries and personal items to men, women and children of the Strathbogie and Mitchell Shires. Queens4Queens is now onto its 6th campaign and again is looking for donations of toiletries and other personal items suitable for donation. Generally focusing on women and children we do of course also accept donations for men. An example of items can be found on the Queens4Queens Facebook page and could include soaps, shampoo, toothpaste, sanitary items etcetera. For the kiddie’s sunscreen, toothbrushes and kiddie friendly shampoo and toothpaste is a great start. Every donation does count and goes straight back to someone in need in our own community. The Queens bags are recyclable and made with love with the assistance of Boomerang Bags Nagambie. This year as well as toiletries the Queens bags will include disposable masks. If you would like to help or donate, we recommend starting at home and doing a check your bathroom cupboard for unused toiletry treasures or of course you can alternatively pop something extra into the trolley next time you are at the shops. We are more than happy for people to create your own ‘Queen Bag’ “or they can

School update A very special place in our school is the vege garden. It is the legacy of some hard working and very generous parents, grandparents and friends of the school. Somewhere along the line our student gardeners became known as the ‘Dirt Gang’ and this term of endearment has stuck. Parents Amber & Skye have taken up the gardening mantle from the wonderful Lyn and are doing a fabulous job introducing students to the joy, knowledge, skills and produce of gardening. Amber shares their progress in the
newsletter each week and this was a recent reflection: “It was a glorious day in the sun for our first Dirt Gang for Term 4. And what a fantastic turn out it was! We picked broad-beans, and also planted some tomatoes, zucchini and corn. We gave the plants a good water and also kept on the lookout for any potential pests - that’s right snails and slugs, we’re on to you! Once again it was great to see all the smiling faces.”
School Celebrations We have had a great week this week. The Grade five six class have returned to onsite learning on Thursday and Friday. It has been fantastic to have them back in the school and the classroom. Grade two, three, four had their celebration night on Thursday. The students had so much fun participating in a scavenger hunt, a special dinner and then watching a movie. Check out the photos of our two, three, fours at their celebration night!

Although not confirmed by Cricket Shepparton at this stage, it appears senior cricket will commence on Saturday November 6. The club has again entered teams in the A, B and E grades with all matches being the one day variety.

With restrictions lifted the Thursday evening after training barbeques are back. The first social function will be the Melbourne Cup raffle drawn on Sunday October 31 after a training session. Senior training is on Tuesday and Thursdays from 5.00 pm, more players are required so if interested just turn up and have a bash.
The Nagambie regular club competition resumed on Sunday with 34 players hitting off to contest a stroke event, four seasons of weather passed over the course on the day, a cold south wind, warm sunshine and a threat of rain were all experienced by the day contestants. But this did nothing to dampen enthusiasm for the return of competition with plenty of good scores carded, the winner posting a nett score in the sixties was David Love putting together a complete round of 84-15-69 controlling the ball with and into the strong winds for his entire round and executing on the putting surface. Runner up went to regular junior player Rhys Shepherd producing his best score to date
and some magnificent long irons for 106-36-70 definitely one to keep an eye going forward, third on count back with a round consisting of an eagle into the teeth of the wind on the 11th was Sam Villinger 83-13-70. Nearest the pin prizes required some precision play due to the tough winds hitting the course Shaun Bryant hit a quality iron onto the 8th, Chris Roberts making easy work of the 13th and Nagambie golf club favourite Alby Seenan knocking it close on the 16th. Next week will be the final round of the social club trophy stableford, in the bar is J. Mills and on office duty will be S. McCormick.

There is a buzz at the Nagambie Museum as ghostly things keep arriving to gather on Halloween night, October 31. As we go to press, only four sleeps until the big event. There has also been a lot of interest from young-at-heart adults, without handy children or grandchildren, who want to see behind the scenes, so we are having an ‘Adults Only’ preview between 6pm and 6.45pm, before the children arrive from 7pm.

The committee will just be getting over Halloween, when the Ladies without Larrikins lunch event arrives on November 9 th . This promises to be a fun day, organised by the inimitable Carolyn Fox, which may well fill The Rowing Club Hotel to current limits. We recently received a very welcome surprise, with a $500 grant from the Bendigo Bank ClubKeeper,
to support Covid impact on the Society. It could not have come at a better time as we are starting to notice the effects of reduced income with no markets and few travelling visitors, while still maintaining a climate controlled collection. We really appreciate their help, and the support of our ongoing financial members at this critical time. Also a generous donation from the late Lions Club gave the falling coffers another boost. Our Out of the Box: Collectables and Ephemera show and tell at the Nagambie Golf Club, on November 14, has attracted some very interesting
and diverse speakers prepared to tell us about their collections. Others are bringing smaller precious items to talk about. We can now accept a few bookings from those who may just want to attend the lunch and enjoy this interesting day, 11am to 3pm. $30 includes lunch. Drinks at bar prices.
