Since 1998 till Covid times, I have been travelling on a very regular basis (every 5 to 6 weeks) between Tahiti and Australia. It has not always been easy to organize life when running my own training and consulting business in Tahiti. I have been lucky and grateful to my clients who have enabled me to organize my life between Tahiti and Nagambie. When in Tahiti, I never stop, it has always been time for training, consulting, auditing, recruiting without mentioning all of the numerous board commitments in associations: JCI (Jaycees, Junior Chamber International), Rotary, CCE (Councillor of Exterior Trade for France), AOC (Wine club) for the community. Life and agenda have been so full on; I have felt so privileged and humble to have received international awards. And in 2015, being awarded the prestigious “Knight of French Order of Merit” (OAM equivalent in France) was such a great honor. When in Nagambie, life is quieter, it has been time for writing reports, preparing training seminars and recruitments, coaching managers, CEO’s as well as running la Galerie de Nagambie and bringing support in Hugh’s real estate business. But above all it has been time for Hugh, family, friends, the garden and of course golf. It has been a fantastic way to live a very intense and exciting life, getting the best of both worlds. Being apart has not always been easy in many ways for Hugh and me; but absence has reinforced presence, depth of the relationship and love for 25 years! So special! For 15 years, I have been a permanent Australian Resident. With Covid, and international borders being closed, the situation became rather complicated; a er being apart for 9 months, I nally managed to y back to Australia at the end of 2020. In 2021 my consulting business dramatically reduced its activity and my Galerie grew well, it was certainly the right moment to revisit priorities. At the end of 2021, it was time to apply for Australian citizenship. Covid has certainly made people reconsider priorities. At 61, It is time for me to write a new chapter of my life and spend much more time in Nagambie. Becoming an Australian citizen will not change dramatically my life, but this recognition means a lot to me and is full of symbols. “In 1981, I was living in Perpignan (French Spanish border) and I was to go to Australia for 2 years to nalize my two degrees at Uni. My dad, a reman o cer tragically passed away on duty in a bush re, he was 46 and I was 20 yo. I was devastated, so my trip to Australia was cancelled and I was sent to Cheshire (Great Britain) in a very small Whentownship…..Hugh and I got married in 2002 in the lovely chapel by the lake Uniting church, the church minister’s brother used to be the mayor of this very small English township! What an amazing Oncoincidence!May25th, Hugh and I celebrated our very rst encounter….at a JCI conference in ailand 25 years ago. And guess what? I was noti ed of being granted Australian citizenship on this very same date! Another incredible coincidence! I truly believe that there are signs and symbols in life which can be seen with the eyes and some others which can only be seen with the heart. I was meant to come to Australia, where I have had some very special connections. I feel blessed, Tahiti and Australia have o ered me so much in my life. I am so grateful to all my special Aussie friends, from Nagambie, JCI, and from Rotary, who have enriched so much our lives, and who enhanced my citizenship application with their warm letters of Whatsupport.alife journey, a er all these years, I certainly feel humble, proud and honoured to become an Australian citizen”. It will only be hard to choose who to barrack for when France will play Australia ………big dilemma! Cross Carpet Cleaning

If the pandemic did anything good for us, it gave us a chance to spring clean and possibly raised our service standards up about twenty notches. Regular cleaning of carpets by a professional carpet cleaner avoids a shortened lifespan for rugs, upholstery and carpets. Pile or carpeting yarn that is matted down with dust and dirt may eventually become ruined so that the nap of a carpet's surface can never be restored. Meet Chloe Cross, a 22 years old who loves to ride horses, and lives in Murchison. Chloe is the youngest of 4 sisters and moved to regional Victoria when she was 17 and is the proud owner of Cross Carpet Cleaning. Chloe grew up in Cranbourne and attended Lyndhurst secondary college before setting her sights on starting her own business. At the age of 21 Chloe created the business but hit a few hurdles along the way. It wasn’t all smooth sailing at the start for Chloe due to COVID restrictions, lockdowns and a riding accident. “It was very on and off due to not being able to service clients' houses due to lockdowns. Chloe was injured in an accident on Christmas day and wasn't able to work until the end of March 2022

“I was double barreled by my horse that I only had for a week! I ruptured my kidney and spleen and a broken rib. I spent some time in intensive care at the Alfred Hospital and was off from any strenuous activities for 3 months,” said “IChloe.started the business in Murchison to see how it would go before expanding the business to a radius of 50km allowing me to service the local area. I now find myself pretty much booked out most of the time,” said Chloe. House cleaning is hard work, but the rewarding feeling of being able to help clients have a clean fresh home has Chloe seeking more work. “Owning my own business is really rewarding. When clients smile and thank you for a job well done, it’s a great feeling. I mean, who wouldn't want to come home to clean carpets and a home that was sparkling clean,” said Chloe. Carpet/upholstery steam cleaning/ domestic and commercial cleaning, vacate cleaning and window cleaning are all part of Chloe’s business. “I use mostly all eco-friendly products, catering to everyone's needs and one day I hope to be able to expand the business further and employ a helper,” said Chloe. “Being able to help parents with children, due to them not having enough time in the day to clean their house, having their hands full so being able to help makes me happy.

“The people in regional Victoria are always happy to lend a hand when there is anything wrong and will always assist with any problems that may arise. We are lucky to be living in this part of the world,” said Chloe. Outside of cleaning, Chloe enjoys riding horses, competing in dressage and showjumping competitions. She is kept busy with her 3 horses, 4 cats, 2 dogs and plenty of stray roos on the family farm. Chloe is hoping to expand the business and add some contract cleans to her workload so if you are looking for a cleaner, give Cross Carpet Cleaning a call. 0402 357 crosscarpetcleaning@hotmail.com818

Anne said “The MU goal for 2022 is “Transformation Now” and “Climate change-environment and Disaster Risk Reduction” the project for the next two years.”

- 8 August Doug Neville dug in with a dogged effort to win the August monthly medal, with regular showers of rain being the theme right across our current winter thus far, the course has remained heavy requiring solid ball striking to post a score. Neville produced his best round of the year showing he is not just a support act for the club's big four ball events, the upright rigid action of Neville had an uncharacteristic ease of use to it allowing for a 92-22-70 and winning the medal on offer by two shots. Runner up was Dean Brown getting his game together with some big events just around the corner Brown shot a very credible 82-10-72, third place went to last years B grade club champion Phil Hageman with 91-17-74, Hageman also finding some form with this years championships staring in just two week's time, The nearest the pins were a one man show with Dean Brown the only player to record a result , Brown walked away with great shots on both the 13th & 16th. Next week's golf is stableford event. S. Bryant is on office duty and W. LeCerf is in the bar.

Mrs Kennedy thanked all the branches on their work and urged them to try and recruit some new members to continue the objects, aims and goals of the MU and continue Mary Sumner’s vision to support young mothers, and their families and marriage. Those interested in finding out more about the local worthwhile MU group can contact Mary Greenshields, president on 5799 0141 or 0408 566 740

The nearest the pin prizes went to Michael Sloan attacking the 8th, Dean Brown smoking one onto the 13th and Michael Nolan with his best swing of the day taking out the 16th. Next week's golf will be the first round of the 2022 club championships Frank Zanelli memorial honour board event, on office duty is D. Love and in the bar W. Le Cerf.

15 August 2022 A stableford event was a nice lead into next week's first round of club championships when the Nagambie golfers will be playing three weeks of stroke play from the back markers. Sunday's event was a tight tussel at the top with four players all within one shot of one another and two count backs needed to separate the placings. Coming out on top was visiting golfer Kal Winnell winning the day with a handicap equalling 36 stableford points, Winnell taking home the spoils without the need of a partner this time. Runner up was Dean Brown for the second week in succession, Brown finding form during the tough winter conditions is one to watch for in the results of the championships, third place was Shaun Bryant on 35 points playing with a greater level of control than previous times and producing more consistent scores courtesy of an improved style.
