SAND VALLEY Sand Valley was founded on the dream of bringing incredible, public golf to the prehistoric sand dunes of central Wisconsin. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw began designing the routing in 2014 and opened Sand Valley, the resort’s first course, in 2017. MAMMOTH DUNES David McLay Kidd gave his meandering layout enormous fairways, big accessible greens, and visually-unique hillsides of exposed sand “mammoth dunes” that became the course moniker. THE LIDO The Lido – C.B. Macdonald’s long-lost gem – recently restored at Sand Valley by Tom Doak and Renaissance Golf, opened to its members and guests in 2023. It was considered by golf historians as one of the greatest golf courses ever created before being destroyed in 1942.

Today, golfers can participate in the Lido’s resurrection and will be captivated by its demand for strategy and bold design.
