ABOUT GOLF HOUSE KENTUCKY Golf House Kentucky is the umbrella organization for Kentucky’s Family of Golf Organizations: Kentucky Golf Association, Kentucky PGA and Kentucky Golf Foundation. The vision of Kentucky’s golf leaders, Golf House Kentucky was founded in 1978, and is headquartered in a picturesque country setting in Louisville, Kentucky. Golf House Kentucky conducts competitions for golfers of all ages, gender and skill levels (amateur and professional), and provides valuable services to Kentucky PGA Professionals and member golf facilities.

2023 was a fantastic year for growth and positive change for both Golf House Kentucky and our respective organizations. From the addition of wonderful new staff members and positions on the team to expanded participation in our programming, I am so pleased with our 2023 year!

With that being said, I am excited to see what we can continue to accomplish in 2024 and beyond. The 2024 PGA Championship is an excellent event not only for those involved in golf, but for the Commonwealth as a whole, and we look forward to expanding awareness on the multiple avenues to get involved in golf in Kentucky. Furthermore, we are eager to continue our momentum from 2023 with increased events, program participation and more opportunities to enhance lives through golf.

We cannot thank the supporters of Golf House Kentucky and our organizations enough - from board members, tournament participants, family, friends and more - and cannot wait to see you in 2024!

Awards Awards Throughout each year, Golf House Kentucky provides a variety of awards across all organizations for a multitude of accomplishments ranging from competition to teaching to one’s character.

The Kentucky Golf Association awards players of the year for different age categories, with four individuals sweeping six titles in 2023.

This award honors the top male and female in Kentucky who are 18 years of age or younger based on their results in top junior tournaments and other prestigious tournaments on the local, regional, or national scale.

Tournaments Tournaments The 2023 season opened with the Assistants/Associates claiming the Kaiser Cup and breaking the Members 4-year winning streak

Kentucky PGA tournaments serve as the Commonwealth‘s competitive events for PGA Members and Associates. The (KPGA) is one of forty-one Sections across the country representing the PGA of America and its Members. The KPGA contains more than 300 Members and Associates working in various roles across Kentucky; all of whom share the goal of bettering the game and its players.

Tournaments Tournaments 2023 began with an Amateur Series event at Danville Country Club, a season-long points competition for each division that culminates in Player of the Year awards

The Kentucky Golf Association represents the amateur body of Kentucky’s golfers working in assistance with the United States Golf Association (USGA). The KGA operates the state’s premier amateur tournaments, along with USGA National Championship qualifiers.

Kentucky Junior Golf includes the state’s top tournaments and programs for the state’s golfers aged 18 or younger and is dedicated to introducing Kentucky’s youth to the game of golf, providing resources to further enjoyment within the sport, and developing the skills necessary for players to thrive both on and off the golf course.

Tournaments THE OPENS The Kentucky Senior Open, the Kentucky Women’s Open and Kentucky Open are three of the KPGA’s largest events, open to professional and amateur golfers. The events were undeniably added to the record books this year, with Lydia Gumm firing a first round 63 and winning by nine, and Justin Tereshko becoming just the fourth player in Kentucky history to win the Kentucky Open and Kentucky State Amateur in the same year.

Tournaments THE STATE AMATEURS Each year, the Kentucky Golf Association puts on five state amateur events, the pinnacle of amateur golf in the Commonwealth. The five events are the Kentucky Amateur, Kentucky Women’s Amateur, Kentucky Mid-Amateur, Kentucky Women’s Senior Amateur and Kentucky Senior Amateur. 2023 saw some stellar performances in each field.

Tournaments THE JUNIOR PGAs The Boys and Girls Junior PGA tournaments are not only KPGAJT majors, but qualifying events for the Junior PGA Championship, a national tournament that was held in Hot Springs, Arkansas this year. The Kentucky events are both held in Richmond over an overlapping three-day period. Macie Brown of Mt. Washington and Jacob Settles of Winchester claimed the 2023 wins.

Tournaments THE JUNIOR AMATEURS The Boys and Girls Junior Amateurs are the marquee events of the KPGAJT season. This year, they were both held in July at university courses - University of Kentucky Club for the boys and University of Louisville Golf Club for the girls. After placing second in 2022, Warren Thomis of Richmond bounced back to win this year. On the girls side, Athena Singh of Morehead defended her 2022 title to win her second Girls Junior Amateur.
