THE LOIRE VALLEY DURING WORLD WAR II
The Loire Valley played a significant role during World War II, serving as a crucial line between occupied and Free France.
Many châteaux, including Chambord and Cheverny, were used to store France’s national treasures, including artworks from the Louvre, to protect them from Nazi looting. Many of Morgan’s clients came to Les Bordes as often as possible before it was bought and closed to all but the very fortunate few.
